I think round 3 should be 2 sc in each stitch to come to a total of 24 instead of 2 sc, 1 sc that only gave me 18 stitches which then threw off the round 4 peace sign. This came out really nice, thanks much!

(This comment is from 3 years ago I see that now... however still putting in my 2 cents for anyone watching now lol)
In rnd 1 you have 8 sts
In rnd 2 you have 16 sts
So in rnd 3 you inc 8 times to get 24 sts
Make sure you are counting your sts, it can help to use stitch markers when you're starting out on a new block! Happy crocheting! 😁

This pattern is nice, but a bit on the small side so I did however modify the last row with half double crochet to make the square the 6" that we need for this project.

Everything was smooth sailing, til adding adding the square. I had 24 stitches, but in the end there was enough to finish. idk what happened 😣

I'm sure you are not an idiot. Just keep trying & you will figure it out. Give it a little time.
I have tried projects & couldn't figure it out.
i go back to it, in a couple months after & I'm able to do it. 🙂

So you said your red heart is 10 ply? I have never seen it sold in 10 ply.. is 4 ply alright to use?

Lisa Brown 4 ply is very thin, but this wool that she uses is very thick, I use DK, but it's thicker than that,, it's more like Aron but NOT as thick as chunky, I hope this helps you x

She is using worsted weight commonly numbered #4 weight. I never go by ply but use weight. DK I think is a #3, is thicker than fingering and sock #2 but is thinner than worsted aka Aran. Hope that helps.
