I almost died there. I warned them for 6 hours. Finally they took me to the nurse _ who was kind). They had to send for medicine from a HOSPITAL. That guard lost her stank attitude after that. My friend's father died in City of Atlanta lockup.

The pain from a strangulating hernia to the bowels would have been EXCRUCIATING. When a patient has a known hernia and is complaining of abdominal pain, ...that's an emergency.
This happens a lot. A man with diabetes was passed out in the intake and the CO’s ignored the inmates trying to get the man help. This specific jail has a lot of shadyyyyy things going on.
Just as the attorney stated. Jail staff are at the mercy of medical. If they don’t want to see them, they won’t. This leaves CO’s in the middle trying to do the best they can given the circumstance. It’s extremely irritating to jail staff as they typically are not trained beyond basic first aid.
It's the opposite all the guards have to do is take you down to the infirmary. How can you pick and choose when to be a nurse? It's not the medical staff it's the fact the jail doesn't care enough to make the medics do there job. They work for the jail, if I'm paying you to be a doctor it's your responsibility to take care of my inmates. This isn't on the doctors they can't just be like I don't wanna see him. How can you deny someone in custody health care services that bs. It's the guards all they have to do is come and get you.
You put in a medical request and someone within the jail will look at it and they will send a guard to come and get you. It's up to the GUARDS to notify medical staff of the issue. You think the nurses are just walking around the jail? You think they have access to the jail? You think they have access to the cells? They don't they are just contractors working with what they are given, yes they still suck but it's a jail medical team so you can't expect the best but they have the same basic equipment you see at a hospital for the most part. It's the guards letting these people die because they are desensitized from working in such a toxic environment.
