Blood to the lungs, damage to the eyes, getting your liver destroyed, there are so many injuries that come from this brutal sport, but the only thing that I care about is the damage that's permanent: the brain damage. That is the only thing that has convinced me that boxing is not worth it. Other than that I would gladly do boxing, the thrill and discipline is awesome.
Guys I made this comment almost a year ago. My mindset has now changed, so please don’t comment telling me to train without sparring lol. And also, thanks for all the likes guys!

Boxing is definitely worth it. It doesnt just disipline you. It teaches you to be calm under pressure, humility, confidence, various health and muscle benefits, and more. (cant name everything off top of my head)

I suppose what might be considered a. “Moot” point or even counter cultural is to question what part of the human psyche is enthralled by combat sports. I give great respect to the athleticism and conditioning of a boxer or MMA fighter but let’s be honest. These men and women wouldn’t be in the ring if there were not a wiling audience to view the carnage. For truth in advertising, I. Lost my son at 22 so when i see young men and women wading into combat sports the first thought I have is that God gave you such a beautifully strong body; please don’t destroy your life for such a fleeting victory.

This doesn’t discourage me one bit. Take a look at the world around you and see there’s no safe way out. Wanna play it safe and just hit baseballs? Might end up like Lou Gehrig. Wanna just entertain and be in movies? Might end up like Michael J Fox or Chadwick Boseman. No path is safe, all of our clocks will run out eventually. On the bright side, you can still get all the thrill and excitement of boxing with just bag and mitt work. It’s much less likely to get a hernia or torn ACL .Get a good sparing partner who’s not out to put you in the hospital. As men we crave and are bred for combat, this is the best way to get it out of our system.

None of those things are comparable to combat sports. The intention is to beat your opponent by striking and kicking them. That’s not the objective in baseball or acting in a movie. Fox’s Parkinson’s and Boseman’s cancer were not caused by acting.
