- In the late 1940s, Russian researchers kept four test patients awake for thirty days using an experimental gas-based stimulant. The researchers were cut off from the world and asked to do a series of tests on the subjects. What starts as a purely scientific study, quickly spirals out of control. As the experiment progresses, the subjects take matters into their own hands and test the concept of truth as a matter of life and death.

I've always thought this was one of the more creepy urban legends I'd ever heard. The closest I ever remember seeing anything of this concept on screen was that one X-Files with Tony Todd playing a veteran who had his "sleep removed" and he and his team mates had been awake for the last 20 years or so. Really looking forward to this movie!

You are correct. In fact, after only 72 hours without sleep the human body begins to hallucinate.

@@josephmoffatt4696less than that. When I've been up for only 48 hours or the equivalent (like only slept 4 or 5 hours over 72 hr period) I can't tell if what I hear is accurate.
It's not unlike some of the effects caused by LSD.
Idk if it's better or worse, but my long periods without sleep are due to amphetamines use. One day has little effect. More than one day and it's a problem.

I’ve made it 17 days without sleep(with the help of Amphetamines) and the insanity kinda comes and goes

Yeah, when I first saw the size of the chamber I was disappointed. Hopefully the movie does the story justice but most likely it won’t.

The Soviet sleep experiment.Tapes are way more scarier than that will ever be. Hearing a crazy person begging plea to be put back on the gas We'll haunt your dreams. Something about hearing the narrator Calmly saying the words and then hearing the person in the background in russian losing their mind.

The movie looks entertainingly scary. But just so everyone knows: no human being can survive more than two weeks without sleep.
During sleep, the immune system is replenished; waste products are removed from the brain; repairs occur to muscle and other tissues.
After two weeks without sleep, the body would be overwhelmed with multiple infections, and various organs would begin to fail.
This creepypaste never was about details, huh. It mentions KGB in the end of 40-th.
And that's a big no from me!

Giving some accent only makes sense, when you have someone speak english if english is not their native language. But here it just takes away from the movie. As we would asusme that they are speaking Russian and it just happens that we, the audience, understand them.

@@sweatynutlover4827Actually it’s really subjective if this is a true story or not. The reason I say this is because during World War 2 they were performing all kinds of sadistic experiments. Take a look at unit 731 of the Japanese. They did stuff exactly like this, I guarantee the Nazis and the Communists of the Soviet Union did the same. The US has a history with stuff like this as well, introducing LCD to unknowing people for years, black bagging people during when we had the internment camps, all kinds of stuff throughout history. Don’t be so quick to dismiss things like this cause you don’t know just how far the governments will go.

This looks so bad. Aside from movie being based on creepy meme that was proved to be, well, nothing but creepy meme, the object desire of actors and director to make this seem as the most serious thing ever, ironically, makes it look like a child's play and borderline self parody.
This is just old creepy pasta. Creativity in entertainment industry is dead. If not remake or 10th sequel, its just stealing someone else ideas.
