Garmin Connect is an app, with a GPS unit it is the interface between your phpne and the GPS, where as BaseCamp is PC/ Mac based and is route planning software. You answered the question, as I used Garmin BaseCamp I used a track, if I had sent it to the Garmin GPSMAP67 via the Connect App it would have been a Course. I hope this helps.
The noisy background music ruins your video. I can't hear you over the noise. I made it to 0:57 and had to quit. Why do people ruin great videos with totally unnecessary noisy frigging music? Good grief. Thumbs down.

Can you import gpx files from other platforms such as Viewranger or Tracklogs or does it have to be via Basecamp?
As long as you can export the route/ track as a .gpx file you can use whichever software/ app you choose. I hope this helps.
