Perfect video. My personal style in the summer includes shorts which I know is not your style, but the shirt options are the same. Chambray, linen, rayon, and light weight cotton plain weaves are ideal. One thing to note is not all rayon is created with the same environmental specifications. Cheap rayon is terrible for the environment. I try to use Tencel brand rayon fabric as much as possible since it’s made responsibly and is super high quality. Tencel aloha shirts are the most comfortable shirt I have found.
Good discussion on long sleeve vs short sleeve and loosely knit summer clothing. Also based on my own observation and what you also see folks traditionally wearing in a very hot and sunny weather e.g middle east - If you are in direct sun, you would actually feel cooler and less sweaty in long sleeve loosely knit shirt than in comparable short sleeve shirt. Of course if you only stay in a shade than clearly short sleeve shirts are superior for keeping cool.
Great video! Would definitely be curious to see some more talk on the best summer trousers, I’m unfortunately still stuck on the shorts train in NY the humidity is brutal in July/August.
When I was in the navy, chambray shirts were our basic work shirt. I hated them. But, 30+ years later, I am starting to appreciate the look. I also used to wear western shirts for work when I was doing construction inspection and I would occasionally get compliments on them on the job site. Never would have expected that.
A long-sleeved chambray shirt is a great option for protecting your skin and still living with summer heat, especially if you're trying to look after your tattoos. Obviously skin cancer is far more serious, but I'm just a very shallow person. Anatomica's Big Yank repros are fantastic, I think definitely on a par with The Rite Stuff's Heracles which is the only Rite Stuff item I have. Going off on a tangent, do you by any chance have a pair of The Rite Stuff Daybreak pants? They look phenomenal! Thanks again for another fun, informative vid.
Yes exactly. I love chambray shirts for that purpose. Cover the sun but still have breathability. Yes I have the charcoal ones and wear them a lot. I love them
@@almostvintagestylekeep doing you, man. I really love and enjoy the content, and I thought this video was incredibly helpful. I picked up a nice blue and white striped linen short sleeve and I LOVE it! Also, Ferrari fan or just Leclerc?
Is someone who honestly struggles with summer wear, I really appreciate this video.
Glad you got something out of it!
I need to build up my summer collection but im prioritizing fall winter cuz it just looks better. Its been a rough summer for 20oz denim though
Yeah ill always prefer fall and winter fits

Very good point. I want to go more in depth on rayon in the future. It's certainly not all created equal

Yes thats the balance. In direct sunlight you do need the sun protection, but if you can get shade, short sleeves feel better.

Yeah right now I'm fine with mostly just chinos and light denim
Thanks Jake! Been looking forward to this and the cheap T-Shirt video. I've been loving my Mister Freedom Skivvys, so should try some Stanleys next.
Yeah I love the Stanley fabric for summer

Ah well if it was a uniform piece, I can see why you disliked them back then. I probably would have as well
Yes, not that I have a problem with uniforms, but those uniforms and most of the navy's at that time were terrible.
Thank you for the video 🎉
Thank you for watching!
Another fantastic and informative overview. Any thoughts on Tencel?
I have a tencel scarf and it feels nice, but is pulling far too easily for my taste. I'm not sure if that'd the case with the shirts

what about silk, or would you just rather purchase rayon?
Silk is super breathable and doesn't stick as well! Both are solid summer options.
Silk is amazing, but there just aren't many shirts made of it today
That striped shirt at 10:10 is very unflattering
Cool
Pull your pants up
They are pulled up
Button up short sleeve shirts are never, ever, cool or acceptable. They look awful.
Bruh, all about it they style. Example, James Dean.
@@bravobear1844 Bruh, no, and this guy looks ridiculous, he ain't James Dean and no, short sleeve button up shirts are absolutely not cool.
Enjoy your opinion

Thanks! Really appreciate that! I'm actually a McLaren fan, but I can't help but love Charles as well even though I'm not a Ferrari fan.
