Alistair pretty much signed his life away the second he brought up Hope. Up until that point, Klaus was putting on a show being kicked and berated. But, the moment Alistair spoke of killing his child you could see Klaus's face change ever so slightly and at that moment I knew that Alistair had fucked up. You can talk all the hot shit you want about Klaus but the minute you bring up his child shit gets real and you pretty much commit suicide.

Marcel let Klaus fight and bite them on purpose then gave reason and fear to why they should still keep Klaus alive and leave him and Klaus alone.
