This is so inspiring! And what a beautiful dress it became!

You should definitely feel proud that you made it yourself!!! It's just stunning and fits perfectly!!! You're so inspiring to watch. I use Adobe Illustrator and CLO to make my patterns digitally and it's a huge time saver. I draft on top of my pattern blocks (that I know how they fit) and it's so easy to divide and measure (especially circles) and it's made my life so much easier. It's a big learning curve but what a difference from paper! Thanks for sharing! I love watching the process!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Fur babies a bonus 😍

Omg I’m replying to this at the same time as I’m using illustrator for the first time!! What a learning curve 😂 I never thought to draft digitally, how genius! I really don’t enjoy drawing on paper, maybe I need to do that next instead! How do you like Clo? I considered getting it but would need to upgrade from a MacBook to an iMac to handle the program 🤔 I am tempted though 😂
I’ll make sure to include the furbies more!! Their always right at my feet 🥰🥰

@@behindtheseamswithjess I absolutely love CLO - also a steep learning curve but OMG you can't believe what you can do with both CLO and CLO-SET - it's like having ten assistants - 3D rendering, pattern making/viewing, animation, video fashion shows, hi-res images from all views, technical illustrations too, (my favorite part is that you can export a 360 3d view of your garment and people can twirl it and check it from every angle) fabric creation, tech packs, colorways, bill of materials, LIBRARIES of slopers you can customize and it's modular - meaning you can create unlimited variations (a new feature they just introduced). You can also import your Illustrator slopers - something I'm working on now - and you can also create a custom avatar to your exact body measurements, weight, height, etc. There's so much - if you decide to take that path it's about $50/month for clo-set and a little less for clo if you pay yearly. Let me know if I can give you more information. Thanks for great content!! I love to watch talented people who don't taking shortcuts either - it's very inspirational.

Wow!! You must work in the industry? They both definitely sounds like incredible programs but you sound like you are using them to their fullest potential for sure!! I have seen videos online and it does look like an absolutely incredible program, now you are really replying me 😂 maybe once I feel like illustrator is sorted, I should give it a whirl 🤔 I would love to see your work!!

@@behindtheseamswithjess I definitely don't work in the industry. I'm just a designer trying to do something but had major health setbacks and now taking care of hubby who is also having health issues - that's why it's so motivating to watch other people - it keeps me going until I'm able to get back into the swing of things. So I really appreciate all of your work!

@madelinegrudens well you have the knowledge of a professional by the sounds of it! I’m sorry to hear about all of the setbacks you are both having with your health, I’m sure your hubby is very glad to have a lovely partner like you to care for him! Hopefully you can get back to your sewing soon once things settle down a bit 😣 sending love x

Hi Jessica. I came across your channel via a Facebook sewing group and am glad that I did. I have started to look into drafting my own patterns due to having a non-standard body shape (big chested so nothing normally fits correctly). You have given me so much hope that anything is possible. Keep up your mojo because you never know who you are inspiring.

Oh wow, what a lovely comment! You will love drafting your own patterns, it’s tricky at first but you soon realise you are completely unlimited in design!
I’ll get back to posting/sewing shortly, just moved states and need to set up my new sewing room! 😜

what book is it that you are flipping through in the beginning?:)

Omg a fabulous resource! It’s Patternmaking for Fashion Design by Helen Armstrong, I believe they used to be used as textbooks in fashion college! It shows you how to draft EVERYTHING! I actually found mine secondhand on Facebook marketplace for $20, much cheaper than the brand new pricing online!
