  • For Medical Grand Rounds this week, we have another Clinical Problem Solving (CPS) case to allow listeners to watch in real time how master clinicians reason through challenging cases. While getting the diagnosis “right” is amazing to see, the true learning comes from witnessing how experts navigate the zigs and zags of a diagnostic journey in a case that unfurls in real time (as it does in life, of course).
Our discussant in this week’s CPS is Sarah Doernberg, Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at UCSF Health and the Medical Director of Adult Antimicrobial Stewardship at UCSF Medical Center. Sarah has been a pillar of both clinical expertise and clinical trial knowledge during COVID-19. She served as the PI of the UCSF CHART study, which followed healthcare workers longitudinally throughout the COVID-19 pandemic for antibody and RT-PCR monitoring. Her clinical research focuses on diagnosis and treatment of antibiotic-resistant infections and antimicrobial stewardship in addition to epidemiology and treatment of COVID-19. Following the case discussion, Parnassus Chief Resident Fangdi Sun will offer some key teaching points.
Note: Closed captions will be available within 48-72 hours after posting.
