A long video, but the music was nice and the progression of the wooden frame into a powered boat on a lake was a joy to watch. It was really impressive. Awesome job.

Mix of hydro, solar, wind, nuclear, natural gas... Still beats the engine, even if all coal (from a modern plant).

Looking at the opening shot, it occurred to me that the big end should be in front.
Keep the nose in the water for a longer length along water line. The shape is a near perfect NACA foil shape.
Then cut the weight as much as possible.
All in all, your video provokes interesting ideas.
    Great job.

Very nice work! I like Ryobi tools also. Cheap, and get the job done! BTW, I did the same thing with that motor. I motorized an 8 ft. Moorea kayak. Cut the shaft, and mounted the motor through the kayak's drain hole. I took the electronics and mounted them in a project box, that's mounted in front of my seat. Nice having 5 forward and two reverse speeds. One upgrade you might want to consider it switching to A123 lithium batteries. I went with 5 in series, and the motor has been working happily on all that added voltage. Much higher speeds with that battery pack. Expensive, but worth it in the long run.

You should think about airbags in case you want to instantly save the boat from a serious salvage task you would deploy on the need to stop it from sinking and save you a lot of time. Do you plan to have lighting inside and on deck as regulations plus register your homemade boat?

    • @jasonserfling2786

I'd name this boat Marlin or something to do with fencing like En Garde. Since there's so much rocker in the hull do you get a lot of pitching?
