Government Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore | Historical Monuments of Lahore

The Islamia College, Civil Lines Lahore was founded on the premises of the famous Dayanand Anglo Vedic College (DAV) which then shifted to Ambala, India after partition.
The collage is first ranked institutions of the Punjab. The Arya Samajists founded the school of Dayanand Ayur Vedic on June 1, 1886. The huge building of the DAV College experienced many revolutionary changes in the last two centuries. The school started Intermediate classes in 1888 and graduate classes in 1892 and finally M.A. in 1895. The name of the college was attributed to the Hindu leader Sawami Dayanand Sarasvati, the founder of the Arya Samaj Moment.
In 1947, the Muslim Muhajreen immigrants from the East Punjab were accommodated in the building of this college. In 1955, the building was acquired by the Anjuman-e-Himayat-i-Islam, which gave it a new name of Islamia Colleg. Initially, the administration of both Islamia College Railway Road and Islamia College Civil Lines remained with The Anjuman-e-Himayat-i-Islam. In the year 1958 AD, Anjuman decided to give separate identity to Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore.

I was there from 2000-2002 enrolled in F.Sc(Pre Engineering) Batch. This institution made me what I am today. Its teacher's advice still leads me to different phases of my life. I am currently in Canada but I would love to sit in the hostel cafeteria for a cup of tea refreshing golden memories of my life. GICCL you will always be in my heart and Mind. Miss you a lot.
