- Another acrylic pouring inspirational video! “Monarch” was a practice for this painting. I’m drawing inspiration from a lifelong friend that wanted me to make her a painting to give to her mother. I’m really enjoying this technique, but will probably go back to my pearls soon!

I’m an at home mama/ professional and experimental artist. I do commission and gallery work in my small mountain community, Sandpoint Idaho.
Basecoat Pillow:
Glidden latex house paint ~ satin
Paint PM:
1 part untinted base III House paint
1 part varathane triple thick polyurethane
.25 part polycrylic gloss varnish
Pouring medium to paint ratio about 1:1
Cell activator:
1 part black oxide or titanium white Amsterdam paint
3 part US floetrol
A few drops minawax wood conditioner (red can)
These recipes make a very thick consistency. I do add water to get it more fluid. It’s not nearly as thin as what are use for my pearl paintings. The paint for this technique needs to be pretty thick.

Thank You Lori💕✌️
Such a gorgeous piece Sara!!! Your friend and her mother will absolutely love it!!! :)
Hi Sara!! Beautiful Work as Always. I very much admire your pieces. You have a very unique & distinct style. I'm excited watching this video since it is a little different than your usual pearls. I always like to see 1 of my favorite Artists do something a bit different. I know how easy it is to kind of stick to 1 style when you do it so well. You're 1 of my favorite Artists in this style of painting. I also really love Niki D & Jodie (The Painted Dreamer). Thank You for sharing this piece & All your others!!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this! I’m glad you liked this one and I’m so grateful you’re here.🙏❤️
Incredibly stunning!!! So needed this inspiration today! I didn’t have a very successful day in my studio. Ended up scraping my canvas, cleaned up the mess and turned the lights out. Tomorrow is a new day!
Again thank you for your beautiful inspiration, it’s helped me not to give up entirely!!! 💞
We all have days like that! I’m glad this lit your fire a bit!! Thank You so much 😊 💕👍
Sara is right. Don't let anything get ya down so much that you throw in the towel. I have lots of days like that and because I don't have a venue really to sell, sell, sell paintings, I worry constantly that I will have a backlog of a million canvases and nowhere to hang them. hahahaha! I have just resigned myself to enjoying the making of the art and let the Universe take care of the rest. I have cut back on the production and try to make each painting something I really love; even if I have to waste paint in the process, which I don't like doing. I would rather produce less, but really like what I have done. Best of luck and hang in there.
Holy cow!! So beautiful! I see a bird with a flower on top of her neck! Gorgeous colors. Amazing 🤩 work my friend!
Thank You Michelle 🙏💕✨
Amazing 💕
Incredible painting Sara, love the newer colors. I'm always drawn to metallics and pearlescent paints but I have a color obsession at this point 😆 I know Tammy will be thrilled with this. I like her succulent paintings. I was watching your 'how you mix your paints' last night again and you're right it's a bunch of prep before you can lay down your paint. I have made short cuts and it still takes a day to prep! Ooh and in the vertical position of this painting I could see Koi fish. They are very beautiful and maybe this method would work for one of your followers who enjoy more realistic/still life.
Just a thought. Hugs and Love ~ Sara
Thanks Sara! I really appreciate your comment. It’s funny whenever I try for realism never really works out.😂. I think I’m destined to be an abstract artist… LOL. Hope all is well! Much love.
Beautiful….
There's a little birdie in your painting 🐤🐥
I absolutely love this! The composition is perfect. Your friends' Mom is a very lucky lady!!
❤j’adore ❤

Amazing art. Thank you for sharing 💕
As always, lovely colors and composition. I think what sets your work apart from many others is your 'playing' with the canvas and astute attention to detail ... gorgeous!
Thank you so much Gail!
My fav does it again...! Nice work
So beautiful. I’m inspired to try this one. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful!! It's great to see this technique work on a larger scale 👍🤗.
Thank you! That’s always been my problem with the bloom is that it’s hard to scale to large canvas.
Lovin’ those cells and composition 😊💐

Gorgeous piece...I love swiping....How does the canvas stay fixed to the spinner
Gorgeous, beautiful, wow! Seems that I’m always saying the same thing about your art. Why, because I love all your work.
Cindy, thank you so much! I always appreciate your comments.🙏❤️
Me too ☺️
So impressed and inspired by your work! Question today: do you find that you get cell activation from all Amsterdam colors, or only certain ones? Thank you, Sara!
Hi Susan, it only works with certain ones, titanium white, black oxide, and I know that it works with Prussian blue!
It still is so hard to find the right consistency for me. I've been watching you, Karen and Erica and every one has a different one. Love how this turned out ❤️
It is tricky, I like it a little bit thinner so it has more motion. The GAC 800 in the basecoat is important because it helps it not crack.
@@SaraTaylor I can't get the GAC800 but I've got Owatrol, would that help?
I love this piece so much. Very striking! What type of miniwax do you use? You're such an inspiration! 😊
Thank you so much! It was just a minawax wood conditioner, it came in a red can.👍
Wow your work is incredible. Is the paint consistency like a Dutch pour? That US floetrol works great with min wax wood conditioner.
The consistency is much thicker than a Dutch for here, I would say more like a straight pour or ring pour.
Another beautiful piece. Love the color combination. Question - do you varnish or resin?
Are usually varnish, rarely resin but occasionally I do. This piece I will spray with a Satin varnish.🙏✨👏
👍👍👍💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏
