The legal drinking age in Brazil is 18
Luffy is old enough to drink alcohol without adult supervision (age of 18 and above). It just depends on which country's laws you're talking about.

In many countries drinking age is 18, I am from India and here all the states have different drinking age ranging from 18 to 25 ....

Also the way he "hides", but his love for cotton candy is definitely one his quirks. Everyone's got more than one quirk going for them. Luffy is not just obsessed with food, but also adventure and danger, and doing random often impractical moves in battle. Ussop's a compulsive liar who's lies always come true in addition to the "God" meme and getting scared of every novel thing they encounter on the Grand Line, Nami loves money (and tangerines!) in addition to being the straight angry foil to the bunch of fools she often bonks on the head, Zoro always works out when he's not getting lost, Sanji's a massive simp, but also a chain smoker who shares a rivalry with Zoro, Robin's got her nose deep in a book 90% of the time and passionately loves random cute things and people, Franky is a walking quirk/meme factory who does random awesome stuff all the time, and Brook has not only his skull jokes, but also his "Yohohoho!" laugh, his habit of drinking tea and his "May I see your panties?" running gag going for him. Compared to all of them, Jimbei is a rather straight and narrow guy. Up until now, his #1 quirk was teasing the audience as Schrodinger's Straw Hat.
But him being the straight and narrow guy who lacks a funny quirk can itself be turned into a funny quirk. He's even more of a straight foil than Nami. I can easily picture him acting the part of a solemn and prideful warrior ready to lay his life for his beloved comrades, hyping himself and the rest of the crew up with a super serious speech about their duty to win an eminent battle and overcome the fickle whims of cruel destiny, only to be foiled by the rest of the crew ignoring him completely to rush headfirst into the fray.
Him being the purveyor of dad jokes... could work as well. it's just that we've never seen him do this routine before, and he doesn't strike me as a man who'd try to crack jokes every other minute, but he DID spent several chapters recounting the tragic tale of his people during the Fishman Island Arc, and managed to knock Luffy into a deep slumber in the process. That has quirk potential! Maybe he can be the chronicler of the crew in addition to helmsman? Every time the Straw Hats throw a victory party, he could be running his mouth off in the corner about some adventure or another, obliviously knocking his audience to sleep in the process. Yeah! That would be an hilarious callback joke. :D

Kemal Fajar Jinbes shocked face is so much funnier. When luffy declared he doesn’t want to be a hero, Jinbe’s face is hilarious. When he was introduced to coup de burst he was so serious about doing it right and listening to frankys voice. I think he’s too exposed to the strawhat weirdness so he isn’t surprised anymore but I think his seriousness of non serious things may be his quirk

I just want to see Kidds face when Luffys fleet arrive. Since Kidd has seriouse rivality twoards Luffy even bigger than twoards Law. His face when he sees not only did luffy recruit former warlord but also gained entire armada.

They might not arrive at the beggining but in the middle of fight I can see them arrive in Wano. Like Mozzaru said when if not now? 2 ex Rock pirate crew members started to work together again and lets not forget it is almost full fighting crew from BM and Bm herself and thousands of beast pirates and samurais. If we will see grand fleet in action there is no better opportunity and additional note so that Luffy becomes actual emperor of the sea not just paper emperor

Did anyone else notice to comment Kin’emon said, “I see how smoothly that bird you’ve painted flies!!! But you never showed us anything....but monstrosities that washed away in water.” Even he noticed that Kanjuro’s painting are strong enough to not be effected by water (ex. Rain).
In terms of personality traits, jinbe would be the perfect " Back in my days"-guy. Just think about it

Jimbei’s personality trait, I feel, will be the replacement of when Law stops sailing with the Strawhats. He will be the guy that is dumbfounded by everyone else.
I also feel he and Nami will become really close because their jobs work hand and hand, as well as them being the serious ones that think to themselves: “Why are the others doing this extremely stupid thing, and why is it working?”
Yes I realize the irony of Jimbei and Nami becoming really good friends but I still think it’s very likely.

Imo if she was going to become a Strawhat Oda would've already set it up for her to be one.With every Strawhat they have an arc to showcase their backstory and then Luffy is placed into it to help them grow from it in some shape if form. But hey I could be wrong, maybe we will get her backstory

@@chinuaalibatya7345 well they have already showed a bit of her backstory and built up her growth with the death of Pedro, especially since it seems like he passed his will on to her. And in the anime (which I know technically doesn't happen in the manga) when Luffy is packing up for the trip to Whole Cake Island she has a moment where it seems like she is going to ask Luffy to join the crew before he startled her. I feel like they hint at it every so often whether that be to tease the fans or foreshadow we will have to see.
Not to mention Carrot being a main crew member is big $$$ for merchandise lol.

Actually, Denjiro is an extremely intelligent man, he was probably being a little sarcastic when talking about Kin'emon's "feat"
Another possibility is that Denjiro knew about the mixup but gave Kinemon full credit in an attempt to boost morale. Because with so much working against the rebellion, they need all the help they can get.

Man I love how the strawhats buffed up lately. Luffy's ryuo, zoro's enma, sanji's raid suit, Jinbe turning the monster trio to a quartet.. Now this is starting to look like the crew of the pirate king 🙃

@@Ruintheus I get what you're talking about, but if we're gonna be anal about it, he isn't wrong. Luffy is 19, which not only is illegal in the U.S. but is illegal in Japan, where the drinking age is 20. So even if you put him in the country the manga originates in, it's illegal. But at that point the commenters should be dogging him about Luffy already breaking the law by being a pirate. Also while I can totally believe that they are drinking alcohol and that that's all Roger and Oden like to drink to celebrate, I wouldn't put it past Oda for that to just be root beer or some other frothy drink.

The Hat Maniac Good point BUT Oda said that if it were the real world luffy would be Brazilian, and it’s not the real world. So NO ONE IS RIGHT. I was thinking just that, most of Big Mom's crew are Devil Fruit users, and Jinbe is well, a fishman, he would have no problem just leaving after a quick offensive, and I have no doubts that his former crew would likely help to make such an escape, plus it wasn't just Jinbe it was also Germa 66, as they too were caught up at the end there.
Yeah same. It's one thing for the Germa to escape safely, but the Fishmen only have to swim down. I'm not saying things are perfect, but it's very reasonable for the Fishmen to escape from a naval battle. If Germa shows up safely, that's another thing entirely though...I'm going to need an explanation for that.
The problem is that why did it take jimbe so long to return then? Oda would have let jimbe return much earlier if that was the case and why make this case at all? Why make jimbe go back to save his crew? it's a really obvious hint oda had some plans for jimbe and one of the most expected was a kind of injury. Ofcourse i wouldn't mind it if jimbe had called the grand fleet for help in the time that he was gone, but i guess we just have to wait a little longer to find out why jimbe took so long.
@@Dragonmacher Maybe he did call the Grand Fleet or he had to make sure some of his friends escaped. Regardless, getting into Wano isn't difficult for a fishman.
Kinemon using all his luck reminds me of that amazing world of gumball episode. And Jimbei has proven he is immune to Big Mom’s soul stealing because a member of the future pirate king’s crew would not cower to a mere yonko!

Ruin not at all go back and read the comments in jinbe related videos of many different CZcamsrs and you will see positive comments about jinbei and really negative ones I’ll give you some examples.
That fat fisherman shouldn’t join he’d have no role, he doesn’t have a unique quirk so he can’t join, this will ruin the monster trio, he’d be to over powered for them having a warlord that is op in the water and strong outside of it too. If you watched any of the reveries some youtubers feel that way to and some just want him to die really bad.
@@abc1234567a1 I'm not dumb enough to sit here and pretend like those people don't exist, but much like Ruin, I'd agree that they must be few in number, because until I read your comment I have never come across such comments. And yes, I do consume a lot of one piece related youtube content and read comments. Jimbei is generally liked, and in some cases revered, and I think MOST of the fanbase would agree we have not seen Jimbei do anything that should be considered too OP to join the crew. Not to say we've seen him at his full potential already, but even the coolest of his moves have not seemed to approached Zoro's ultimate move, and Sanji seems like he could hold his own around Jimbei, especially now that he is using his raid suit which was a well needed powerboost for him. I am VERY, VERY, curious as to who these youtubers are that the comment is referring to when they say that some of them want him to just die really bad. I have NEVER come across someone like that.

I realized something sad. Momo is afraid of heights because of being held up high. Yet he has a smiley that allows him to fly. And at dressrosa when luffy told him, he saw momo fly ( at punk hazard). Momo replied even if he can fly he'll never do it again.

People don't understand Momo's arc. Everyone keeps saying he has to overcome Oden's shadow, but that is incorrect. He has has to fulfill the country's need for leadership. As Tekking previously made the comparison with Endeavor, Endeavor's goal is not to be All Might. His goal is being the #1 Hero his people need.
Yep, Oden was a hero but ultimately he failed as a leader. Momo is learning from Luffy that being a leader is more important than being a Hero which is why he and Luffy will succeed where Oden failed.

Jimbei’s role, besides a helmsman for the Sunny, will be the bureaucrat/diplomat for the crew. He will enable the Strawhats to make connections, broker deals, and explain the politics of the world the best.

Jinbe’s introduction this chapter feels like such a Strawhat move. It feels like Jinbei has been slowly being absorbed into the culture of the Strawhats and this chapter really feels like he’s embraced it fully. Enough that he’s announcing it proudly to the world. It feels so good.

I am slightly disappointed that Tekking does not mention that Carrot is actually there beside Nami with the entire crew welcoming Jimbei. If that ain't a massive tease as to what could happen, I don't know what is.
IIRC, Jimbei did have the exact same bounty as Luffy's first post timeskip bounty. So, I guess they decided to give him a small boost after WCI.
I think Jinbei's bounty was initially said (post-timeskip) as "over 400 million" rather than 400 even.
Where else could carrot be if not on the sunny?? On kids ship? I mean, obviously she would be with them at this point but it doesn't mean she's a strawhat.. imo oda will pull a vivi again and carrot won't join eventually
She could just be in the background like the other minks but she is actually there with the SH crew in front. It could mean nothing. She could just be excited because she knows about Jimbei from her adventure at WCI. I am still in the camp for Carrot for SH. it would be such a missed opportunity to not have an adorable, badass female mink warrior on the crew.
Even in real life, she would be as if not more marketable as Chopper. Combine that with the yuki yuki no mi theory and we can have a literal snow bunny on the crew. It is so perfect. Too prefect for her to just be relagated to the grand fleet. If Carrot does not join the crew, her entire purpose during WCI was to just be a Sulong introduction device rather than allow the crew and us to spend time with her to see how well she gels with the crew if and when she does join after Wano.

Try to get in some squats and stretches each day, we’re gonna be sitting down for a lot of this time so it’s good to get some light exercise to help avoid any Thrombosis from the sudden shift to a lower energy lifestyle.
It’s also a good way to get up in the morning if you feel your comfy sheets calling you back.
If I remember correctly, Jinbei has demonstrated kind of the same trait Caimie has when surprised./shocked. In fact he had almost the same facial expression when he saw Shirahoshi outside her room if I'm correct.
So that could be his thing, all serious and proud but when something is just a tiny bit surprising/shocking he shows it in a totally over-the-top way haha!!

For me Jimbei looked older than I remember him looking. (But that might be just me) It was 2 years ago, when we last saw him. And it was back in 2012 when ALL the Straw Hats were together in Fishman Island!!! Think about that.
I think Jimbei will fill in for 2nd straight man (like when Nami is not present and whatnot), but he also might have a quirk we don't know.
