My Dad retired from Timken, he said the Steele and tolerances they used were second to none, at least 35 years ago

Thank you. Yes, the actual Timken is a very precision product.

I recognize your voice from that other channel. At one point you mentioned higher voltage automotive electrical systems. Can you please speak to that. Such good information.

Curious if you've guys tried ceramic bearings ? I use boca bearings in Florida, for my roots blower bearings , definatly more expensive but extreme high quality . Just a thought if the quality needle bearings are getting hard to find

What's a rough estimate for the machining of the block to except the roller cam bearings?

    Thank you for this video.
I've not built a engine in decades ( since I was younger obviously ;)
And have always wondered about replacing crank bearings with rollers, (infact all bearings, crank/cam) however was worried about longevity of these replacements.
    Let's say a 400ci from the 60's.
Built stroker with these mechanical bearings and using lightweight components on the lower and top, improvement to oiling and cooling systems. Just would like a built everything but also longevity (ha!)
How much power improvement would be possible and how much Rpms could be expected. This question is a hypothesis really, not expecting a lot of math and work from you guys ( and thanks for any replys !)
It's just a question that has been for bothering me for years and I understand there's probably easy answers out there but watched the video and that old inch in the back of my brain popped up.
Anyways, hopefully, I made sense and it's not Too stupid of a question (⁉️) and can be a interesting discussion.

that's really common in preps of straight 6 in argentina... the old Turismo carretera can revving in a high rpm... 9000 to 9500 rpm...

What brand of roller bearings do you recommend? I would like to put a set into a 383ci stroker.

Do you sell these for the Oldsmobile Rocket V8 motor/engine 1964-1990 I've always been interested in doing this for maximum performance in my Oldsmobile V8

How do you get the oil to flow through the roller bearing?
I see there is a hole in the Babbitt bearing for oil to pass through, But not the roller bearing?
    Just drill through?

    • @andymiller2898
      @andymiller2898  Před 3 lety +1

Roller bearings work on oil splash and therefor unlike a babit bearing, they do not need any swedging of oil pressure..

China has higher quality of manufacturing compared to the USA, they use metric for one.
