      Thank you SO MUCH for seeing this with the rage that I felt as well. That evil bish is a monster. She was drunk or high, she knew damn well that she hit a person. She didn't just hit a person, she hit a MOPED. SHE FELT THAT!!! That bit about a deer was a damn lie, and when she heard that she had killed a 14 year old CHILD, SHE DID NOT DO A THING BUT CONTINUE DRINKING AND DRIVING. She knew there was a mother that was destroyed by grief. Friends that that were bereft.

    I can’t believe the Board Chair asked her how her mental health was having killed this kid. What an insult to the family. And so what if there are no more programs she can take, part of sentencing for a crime involves punishment, especially one so heinous as this. His family got effed over twice - first, not being consulted about the plea deal and now this, but they aren’t anybody special - just run of the mill, lower economic class people.

    It’s crazy. Because my cousin was walking down the road one night & was hit by a lady .. who were pretty sure was drinking. She didn’t stop until her car broke down a mile up the road; someone driving by seen my cousin in the ditch and called 911. When they arrived the woman refused to answer questions or do a blood test and by the time a warrant was issued her levels were under the limit . My cousin died immediately, and was a mom of 3 her youngest being 6 months. The lady was never charged with anything because even though it was a mile up the road and her car broke down they claim it wasn’t a hit and run. She wasn’t even legally supposed to be driving because she didn’t have insurance. It’s frustrating and heartbreaking:
    But no way she thought she hit a deer, she thought nobody would ever be able to place her at the scene that poor baby!!

I still feel for the mother & family of the young man who was hit. Loosing a child is something I could never understand. My question would be why did she not come forward once she knew she hit a person not a deer? Why did she wait til the police found her? She had two years to make this situation right!

      I know you meant well, but not everybody shares your faith and their way of grieving is equally as valid. People have told my family and I the same thing - that we should forgive - when we were going through tragedy and we don’t speak to any of those people anymore. Not because they’re not allowed to believe whatever they want to believe, but because it was an insensitive thing to say at the time. It made it uncomfortable to express whatever we were feeling (it certainly wasn’t forgiveness at the time). Grieving people need space to feel whatever they need to feel, grace, love and understanding. I truly hope you don’t say this to grieving people in your life. You may come across very differently than you intended to, when all along you were genuinely trying to help❤.

    • @ChocolateBabe_
      @ChocolateBabe_ Před 2 měsíci

      @@everrgreen122 I agree . No one is obligated to forgive you. This woman did something awful. The family does not have to forgive her. She needs to stay in jail, that is what’s fair. She wants a positive healthy life but the family will never be positive or feel the same way again.
      I don’t subscribe to the doctrine of Christianity. We don’t know what God wants or thinks. We assume based of what has been told to us but how do we know God forgave this woman?
      We know drinking and driving is wrong. Texting and driving is wrong. If we truly valued life in the same way God does, then she should’ve just either waited to look at the phone or turned herself in and not waited for 2 years. She should stay and finish the full term.

    • @ChocolateBabe_
      @ChocolateBabe_ Před 2 měsíci

      @@abolishthe19thamendment I believe in God as well. Just not through Christianity. I don’t feel obligated to forgive some one who has done something awful because somethings can’t be forgiven. And that’s okay.
      The family has to accept the fact that their loved one was wrongfully taken. They don’t have to forgive her.
      That woman should stay in jail. She should not be able to go off and roam free all because she wants freedom. A life for a life sounds pretty fair to me.
      Most ppl take forgiveness for granted anyways.

    That poor mama and family, my heart is broken for them. It's the worst pain a mother could have, but add to it the manner and circumstances are just unfathomable. Clearly her daddy is somebody in that town! Somebody bought her a getoutofjailfree card. Homegirl should be doing her time, she's been given enough chances.
    I really didn't like it that the first one to vote changed his mind. Apparently they have board members that operate under the "gold ol boy system" up north as they do in the south. In many towns roots run deep, saying things out loud can get you in big trouble.

    All I know is people THINK they know how they’d react in a shocking fearful situation. We don’t know if she was drunk or high. I’d like to think I’d have stopped to help. That said she was irresponsible at best. A rotten driver. At worst a knowing liar and coward for a very long time. No accountability. I don’t think I could’ve lived with myself AT ALL.
    As heartbreaking as it is she didn’t kill him intentionally. It was an irresponsible act. 10yrs in prison is no picnic. As much as I’d want her in prison for life too, I can’t honestly say she’s as bad as a serial killer. But she should do the full sentence at the very least. This lady is a victim of circumstance, she was late for work. Awful that she has to experience this injustice. I can tell she’s truly sorry.

      If she was truly sorry she would of stopped to see what she hit and she should of called 911 PERIOD. SHE KILLED someone what happened to serving a life sentence?

      He was 14, he wasn’t legally able to drive a car, at that age they are legally allowed to drive a moped if they take the safety course.
      It’s a way for parents to give them a mode of transport. Your comment is out of line.

      In fact, the outcome would indicate that it was a bad decision.

      @mikeghost9923 I'm in a rural area with amish and consider myself a "cyclist". I also had a moped license at 14. Amish buggies, bicycles, mopeds, etc. have NO business on public roads. Especially after dark. When i lived in the city, i commuted by bicycle and was hit several times. Luckily, i was never too seriously injured (knocked out once in a hit, skip) but i cant fathom having a driver charged for hitting me going 15mph on a road designed for automobiles with signage to go 25, 35, 45, 55 mph.
