I want to see the original so bad. In the released version you can almost see bits of the original meaning and story but is masked with disgusting dialogue and sx scenes. They really ruined a great plot. Female idols go through so much, and it could have really portrayed that, but instead the Weekend had to turn it into a weird artsy edgy p*rn.

Amy Seimetz is the director of "The Girlfriend Experience" which was a really good series. I only watched the first season with Riley Keough though
She directed a few films too including "She Dies Tomorrow" and she's a great actress. I guess her more mainstream work would be Alien: Covenant and Pet Semetery. I haven't watched the show but The Girlfriend Experience by Steven Soderbergh is heartbreaking.

Oh yeah, it's a great show with an even better soundtrack by Cliff Martinez.
This show is a mockery of sexual violence victims, sexism within industry, and generally the most disgusting thing I've seen so far. It has really lost my hope for modern cinema. And the fact they scrapped the initial female director due to "too much of a female perspective" is so far the biggest step backwards for women in media this generation would've seen in contemporary pop culture.
It has turned abuse and female suffering into the male gaze and fetishism. It also revealed to me the true nature and intention of Euphoria which I looked up to as a child, I now realise it's a disgusting portrayal of glamourised pedophilia. Whoever enjoyed watching high schoolers (For example, the character played by Sydney Sweeney) sexually performing even if it is acting, also happens to be excited by those ideas which it intends to portray.

It really gives a story about a celebrity with similar life as Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, ...etc. A big childhood celebrity with a perfect image realizes how bittersweet her relationship with herself actually is, and people she trusted are just using her for years. Started rebelling and doing things her own 'adult' way. We all are watching it in real life all the time. The fact that she would end up in a cult thanks to her love interest, would make it all darker. I'd love to watch that, with an old director and better writing that show had such potential. But the version from Levinson is cringe and just bad.
