The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Tom Jones used to be my dad's favorite singer. He didn't speak English and didn't understand the lyrics, but he didn't mind. I sometimes play Green, Green Grass of Home when I visit his grave.
Oh man, I dig those colors! It seemed everything got an intense dose of color back in the late 60s when color TV debuted. I loved that era and am so grateful to have experienced it.

Performers, especially comedians, were always complaining about having their sets cut short by Ed. Remember this show was live. Sullivan didn’t turn his show over to any body for a mini-concert, and yet, here it is.
Tom never changes. He tried to pic up my daughter in a san francisco fine restaurant in 2005 .
When her date came back to the table. He took pictures with them and left. It was great night thanks tom.

I'm a millenial..but here I'am listening...the feeling that the songs before where way better..i could say its real music...than wat i hear in this present..i used to hear this when i was a kid in videoke and sometimes in my parents....i was in 5th grade that i notice my self liking old songs. songs from Cascades was my first favorite...and now i hve many on my playlist..
Wonderful! I was 11 years old when this aired, and we never missed watching the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday nights. We loved Tom Jones! It's fantastic to be able watch these episodes now.

Fabulous! One fantastic voice and singer. I miss the days of programs featuring the best of talent. A bygone era.
Remember when people actually could sing? No auto tune, no lip sync... lyrics you could understand, a real orchestra and men could be extremely sexy and still have their clothes on. The great thing is.... Tom is still able to do all of that.
Tom is great, he has a fantastic voice, I've been a fan of him since 1962 ,my 2 year old son looked at the telly and pointed and said its daddy, I looked and thought how much my husband did look like Tom jones ❤

I really was in LOVE with this MAN TOM and ELVIS back in the DAY and i ALWAYS thought they was FAMILY because TOM and ELVIS VOICE SOUNDS soooo much ALIKE and they EYE'S 👀 👀 and HAIR was so alike plus their MOVES was SIMILAR TOM just didn't move as much but ; was a HANDSOME MAN SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL

I've watched Tom sing "Delilah" so very much but besides wanting to hear Tom sing, I love to watch Ray Bloch as the conductor of the orchestra! Took me ages to find out who he was, but he had so much energy and I loved it!

That's now two weekends in row where the premier videos comprises of performances already uploaded to this channel. That's pretty lame, especially since many musical performances have yet to be uploaded. I think the Ed Sullivan Channel is on downward spiral right now.

I think they are just trying to get more views out of the most popular uploads. I'd rather have something new as well too instead of repeats. Yes, there are over a thousand musical performances still not posted yet.
