    This doesn´t sound Swedish at all. Rather east European. The words are Swedish, that´s all.

      Look over the history, all the way back to the Bronze age and then later Vikingarna, when the peoples that are now referred to as Swedes were going as far as what is now the Middle East and more - and I am sure, bringing back not only goods but also musical traditions.

      Yes, it sounds like medieval Swedish ballad style. Medieval ballads were often modal.
