I found some parts of this film to be particularly inspired; the short rush of music as he cycles - it's such a good emotional decision. The cycling scenes are also so well done - a beautiful array of shots - it just gives this film a great level of artistry and energy - I love how you chose to tell the story with such injections of creativity and consideration.

This was awesome! Mad music too. Looks very close to Venice and Alexa. We’re you using a half pro mist? There was a lot of hilation.

Beautiful work man. The only thing I would say is that I didn't understand his motivation to go to the park. What made him so pressed for going there? I'm curious. This project came together really well. Congrats!

I agree, unfortunately for such a “short” film it’s hard to iron out things with limited time but his back story is pick up games at the park are his favorite thing in life. Waiting everyday and setting alarms, there’s nothing like spending hours at the park until the lights shut off.

@@atdavidlee Yes, with no wish to seem presumptuous, as a former athlete I think I can understand his motivation - he misses the song of the court, the energy, companionship, the flow, and the subtle inner harmony. His friend understands the feeling, even though he himself is far from a talented baller; yet he has the compassion to go to the park to help his friend enjoy those feelings once again.

@@atdavidlee Yes, it's a moving story. I've noticed in my 79 years that stories where someone shows their expansive qualities - love, compassion, kindness, etc., or where they become better than they are ("What Women Want") are invariably very moving. Once I started noticing this principle I found that I could enjoy little instances of it everywhere. I think of Masao Masuto, the Beverly Hills detective in the stories by E. V. Cunningham (pseudonym of Howard Fast, a Hollywood TV writer). In The Russian Diplomat, Masao responds to the arrogant Russian, "I find that all people are interesting when you view them without judgment." The second character in this short film was beautiful - at the end his perfectly lovely smile showed how he was enjoying the inner rewards of his selfless action - he looked almost blissfully joyful and free, but very relaxed and natural. The actor was perfectly cast for the part - he's obviously a guy with a good heart, and David and the director made maximum use of that quality in him. Very, very enjoyable.
