    have both the Aguilar SL210's and the Bergantino 210NXT... both amazing! Using both a Ashdown 12-Band 600 and a Aguilar DB751 amp and I can't ask for more!

    one of the most thorough comparison videos i've ever seen. I hope you sold a bunch of these. I wish every piece of kit would have videos this involved. the editing is fantastic, the range of styles you played...the range. really well done. you guys know how to demo stuff for the masses. cheers!

    The video and a few comments have talked about the Aggie having more bottom end. I know when I read the specs on their respective websites that the SL112 shows lower than the Berg. Granted, I have not auditioned them side by side. However, I have been to two different dealerships that allowed me to bring in my bass and use my Aguilar TH500 head. I played through the SL112 for quite a while at one music store. Then I drove to the other music store to play through the Bergantino. Now the Berg I played through was a HDN 112, so maybe it has better lows. I'm just saying I preferred the lows of the Bergantino. I'm still on the fence of which I want to buy because I like both.
    I would love to see a shootout with the Aggie SL 112, Berg HDN 112 and Genzler BA 12-2. Thanks for the great video Bass Club Chicago! I appreciate how thorough you were.

    I actually liked the Form Factor cab. Never heard of them before though. Aguilar and Berg were nice too.

    I try to listen "blindly" (i.e. scroll down) and scroll up when I like the tone, to check...
    Aguilar won today. Start saving.

    The Aggie is so clean and full and the other 2 sound somewhat sterile for my taste. Great video though.

    Totally agree with your thoughts on the 3 cabs. I'm a "low end" player, I love the low and bassy tones...and before I even watched your conclusion, I had already decided on Aguilar > Berg > Form factor.

    Bought a Bergantino cn112 from Jody recently. Going to by another soon….As for people complaining about small cabs. I use to think the same. I use to own a Bergantino NV610 and Bergantino NV425 to name a couple. I switched to one HT112 on top of a EX112 and other bass players were shocked with my sound as was I. I can say when I get my other CN112 I will be able to match if not come close to these clowns stacks…The punch I get with just 1 CN112 and a Tonehammer 500 is stupid crazy, and loud as hell….and I am not on anyones payroll, just a normal fool like most others commenting.

    Great video, really good demonstration.. My Avatar B112 was 1/2 the cost of these cabs but from what I can tell watching this, it is easily as good as the cabs that are tested. So if you are on a budget the Avatar is definitely worth considering.

    Aguilar sounds the best but very expensive for a 250 watt cab.Some good twelve inch cabs can handle 500 watts.

  • @hags2k
    @hags2k Před 11 lety

    The active settings were the most telling, I think. Each one had its own personality, it'd be so difficult to choose based on sound alone. The Aggie sounded deep, but the more forward sound of the Berg had a nice punch. The form factor seemed to be reasonably deep but with good articulation. They all sounded great, though. Thanks for the demo!

      Thanks BM! Pretty sure we weren't Genzler dealers back in 2013, or if they were even around then? Would be great to do a shootout with Genzler now though!

    • @Sumbibebe
      @Sumbibebe Před 4 lety

      Boogie Man no one in CZcams or Google compares the Genzler to the Aguilar but I bet the Genzler could smoke all of them.

    The Badasskiller: Whether you schlep an 8x10 around or one of these lighter cabs and by doing so "jeapordize your tone", I asure you it will have ZERO effect on your career one way or the other. ..Janek Gwizdala and Damien Erskine are using those light Aguilar cabs and their careers and sounds are just fine.

    Great job! Very informative, although I have to admit that I was hoping at one point you would grab a P-Bass with flats that would complete the sonic perspective. :D

    Absolutely useless test, you're not pointing the mic at the same place on each cabinet. You have the 414 on the Form Factor half way from the edge to the centre of the cone, on the Aguilar it is closer to the mid, while on the Berg it is almost bang center on the cone! You need to mic these cabs up consistently and even better away from the cabinet entirely!

  • @hoovesandpawsanimalrescue

    Great demo, finally someone does it right!

  • @moonstar16651
    @moonstar16651 Před 10 lety

    Sometimes the gig necessitates that you push a lot of air (within reason, see my last sentence), which is where fridges have their place. However, if you think the size of a cabinet is directly related to the tonal quality it produces, I have some beachfront property for you. These are audiophile quality boxes right here. Unless you're playing through concert-sized line array systems, most sound engineers would kill you if you showed up with two 8x10s. And if you need two 8x10s just to carry a room without FOH support, then a venue that expects you to fill a room that size with people should be able to pay you enough to hire production so you don't need two 8x10s.

    The Bergantino cabinet tries too hard to "color" the tone towards harsh highs, which I don't like, personally. Reminds be of a Hartke cabinet I used to have. For my taste, Aguilar all the way down, it seems to be the one that best brings the qualities of the bass, without transforming it into something it's not.
