As someone who suffers from paranoia and has unreality issues, those "if you scroll something bad will happen" posts are a nightmare
That and unknown numbers messages/calls keep me up at night

Me to. I don’t think spells are forcing love, just embracing it and bringing more love in. It’s not like your lover is going to be head over heels with you so much that if you abuse them they’ll still love you…

The period blood thing should be classified as biowarfare. That's just insane.
Some kind of assault at a minimum
why did i have to play this vid as i was cooking spaghetti??????
I am quite certain that, if proven, it would be State Prison in many places in USA.
Any person who had a simple retail job knows that blood and bodily fluids is a biohazard and can be detrimental to other people’s health.
This sent me down a rabbit hole regarding the legality of the menstrual blood thing. In the US (the county I live in and am most familiar with) it would probably hold up as some kind of crime, but you could go a couple different ways.
Also #Not_legal_advice and #I'm_not_a_lawyer
In any case where there is clear malicious intent it would probably be classified as assault. Basically any contact intended to cause harm to a person can be defined as assault, so spitting in their food, for example, or adding ingredients that will make them sick would qualify. I don't imagine the courts would care to make a ruling that "magic isn't real" and would instead focus on the material aspects. Intent to harm *was* there, it's assault.
Shit gets complicated when malicious intent is not clear. Adding some menstrual blood to their spaghetti with the intent of making them love you more probably won't meet the criteria for proven malicious intent, so assalt is out the window. States vary on laws regarding food tampering, but most agree that it's illegal in some way. Perhaps "crimal mischief" if they don't have laws regarding "food tampering" that cover non-disease-carrying body fluids. Minnesota, apparently, is ahead of the game and made the specific act of putting body fluids in an unsuspecting person's food illegal after a case in which a man served his boss coffee with semen in it. So, uhh, point Minnesota, I guess.
The funny thing about the twin flame stuff, is that the actual belief states that you are *not* supposed to end up with your twin flame. It’s not just like a super “soulmate.” Your twin flame is essentially the other half of you, but like looking in a mirror. They will tear you apart. It’s supposed to be a learning experience. You learn about yourself from your twin flame, but in the most painful way. Like learning a fire is hot by getting burnt. And they don’t always have to be romantic connections, it could be a best friend or sibling.
It really irritates me when people take these real beliefs and misconstrue them so badly. It’s harmful, and it waters down the actual belief. Like when it was a trend to say “x is my spirit animal!” when a spirit animal is a native american belief with deep, spiritual meaning. Not a cute animal you like.
Anyways, love your videos funkyfrogbait!!
This is some interesting belief. Can you tell me more about this belief? Like, the origin and stuff? I tried to google it, but most information is the misconstrued/romanticized versison
@@ilmianafirmantika8079 So it’s a concept in Greek mythology, Hinduism, I believe ancient Egypt as well, but I haven’t done too much research into Ancient Egyptian culture and beliefs.
They are all a bit different but along the same lines. In Greece, Plato believed that humans were originally created with 4 legs, 4 arms, 2 hearts, 2 brains, etc. but that the gods felt humans would be too powerful and ended up splitting us in half, leaving us to wonder the earth in search of our missing half. In Hinduism, the concept is shown through Shiva and Shakti, and is understood as one soul between two bodies.
It’s very possible that many other cultures share similar beliefs. The term “Twin Flames” itself is not used in these cultures though, it was coined by an English author named Marie Corelli. It’s used today basically as an over arching term for the concept shared through many cultures.
It’s definitely hard to find information out there that hasn’t been romanticized about it because it comes from cultures that are so old and rich with history. I’m no expert myself! I just try to do my best to learn the actual historical and cultural beliefs that these spiritual concepts stem from.
“Real beliefs”? Surely you don’t mean “beliefs with a basis in reality”. Therefore, the other meaning would be “Beliefs actually held by a person” which these “misconceptions” would be. Therefore, saying “real beliefs” means nothing here.

These stupid children aren't well versed in folklore. If they paid any attention to lore, they'd know that love potion stories always end in tragedy.
So, I have been practicing witchcraft for probably 7 years, and I will say that you are right for sure. People have corrupted the meanings and intentions behind many spells and it is sad to see uneducated people spread misinformation and ignorance about witchcraft and it’s beautiful properties.
Love spells that involve forcing someone to love you are corrupt and selfish, this will be taken into account by karmatic law.
Real love spells like the ones I used to practice involve casting for love to come to you, and it is more like a charm. You don’t need to make someone specific love you, you need to be bringing in love and opening yourself up to the potential it brings by casting, and then you can have a successful love spell in which you have not broken the laws of karma and your relationship will likely be healthier.
Yes!
YES EXACTLY. despite the fact that using spells to attract good fortune or affection to your life is welcomed, targeting one and putting a love/curse spell on them is a very bad idea

Love that they put traditional gender roles on SPIRITUAL ENERGY like my microwave isn't gonna be asking me how much protein I eat for my deltoids to get so swole or how cute my lashes look when I'm cooking meals for a man all day.
The idea that all gay people have to be a top or a bottom is just internalised heteronormativity. The great thing about being queer is that we get to define our own roles. Custom style.

I’ve even heard twin flame as a way to grow in at an exponential rate and isn’t necessarily required to be romantic… I’m leaving that idea behind in 2023 since twin flames is just soul mate theory again and trapping people in codependency.
also I thought twin flames was two people are born sharing a single soul decided by some higher force in the universe which is pretty romantic in a way so it's a bit terrifying that people really believe they're just merging random peoples souls together without consent
My witchtok content is all about the history of witchcraft. As somone who's been in occult spaces for decades and there's always been charlatans. However the instant access of social media has taken it to a WHOLE new level.

Loved the video, once again!
As someone who practices magic, I would consider love spells a type of darker magic because you’re interfering with someone’s will. You said it perfectly that it takes away the consent factor.
I've always thought of love potions/spells as r@pe.
Love spells aren't even supposed to do this, they're not meant to be used on a singulr person to get with the caster, they're supposed to act like a charm to encourage love that already exists there, or to attract potential love, if there isn't love it's not going to do anything, but you can use darker magic to essentially trap someone and bind them, it'll never be love and it'll come back three fold, what people are trying to twist will never work how they want it to
I've always wondered why the flat earth comunity was so dominated by males but now I see what their girlfriends are doing.
Guys are witches too, some of us just hate being perceived lol
That being said I agree with the sentiment, there's proper Witchcraft as an occult or spiritual practice, then there's the people on TikTok who keep a toy harry potter wand on their altar.

this comment made me laugh. so true lmao.
The "i use dark magic" defense feels like the equivalent to when comedians say they have "dark humor"
It's also bollocks. Left hand Practioniers do exist but they dont go around advertising it like that. It's the same as the ones that say: I have mental illness so I can get away with X, Y and Z and you have to put with it. People with REAL mental illness only tell those that need to know because they are going to be in contact with them or on an open forum where they are sharing their struggles. They sure as hell aren't using them as an excuse to be an asshole.
No, Why they’re different :dark humor is used to make light of or explore serious or taboo topics. It combines humor with insensitivity, cynicism or skepticism, to amuse or provoke thought. A comedian is being paid to perform and entertain audiences.
This is different than an individual claiming to use “ black magic”. It’s just a way to seem mysterious, more powerful, and trying to justify their lack of ethics or moral standards.

Just in defense of love spells, I was taught to not use spells with specific people in mind to draw in love, but rather to attract more love to myself instead of chasing it. Most of the 'love' spells I use are for self love and involve picking herbs, blessing them, and making a bathbomb, tea, or even a meal of some kind. Anything else is to help draw in the people who actually care about me, and it's how I was able to figure out if I should ask out my (current) boyfriend. I used a spell to draw in faithful love rather than one person's love in particular.
The Agreggor is now officially a character in my series 'ABUSEMENT PARK' and I absolutely love him!

Y'know, I really like how Funky doesn't just go "magic STUPID and you're STUPID for believing it!" They kinda follow through on that thread of logic like "hey! that love spell your using? infringes on consent! The realness of that obsession cast doesn't make the realness of your disregard for human autonomy go away!"
It feels like something someone who believes in that stuff would actually consider and internalize. Keep making great videos, man!!
Nah, she is the real witch!
Yesss this is something that ALL witches should learn, and also cultural appropriation which is a biggg problem.
Well and people don’t realize that love spells are meant to be honest and pure, more like a charm than anything. You aren’t supposed to try and make someone specific love you, you’re supposed to cast for love to come to you.
By trying to use a spell incorrectly you could corrupt it and cast it completely wrong. This can result in awful things happening, and I can never determine that for sure but my biggest advice to any baby witches is that the “love spells” that you are normally seeing are obsession based and can only end badly.
When you are contacting other worldly power you must always remember to be patient and wait for the right time and the right message. You cannot expect good results from a rushed and unpracticed approach. Please use what you learn wisely, because the laws of Karma will come back for you when you least expect it.
P.S. MEDITATE.!.!.!.!.

Everytime I hear about masculine vs feminine energy, it throws me into a very feminine rage.
It's also a thing that is a centuries old thing that a lot of older cultures and ancient religions have done (like how some ancient mythological gods come with both a masculine/male variation of themselves as well as a feminine/female version).
Something I think was mentioned in an OSP video.

Feminine rage is just high velocity lipstick (I hope you realize how much I don't mean that.
A lot of modern witches have a fraught relationship with the ideas of feminine and masculine energies. A good resource that looks at those ideas through a more neutral lens is a book called Sigil Craft by Lia Taylor. It’s also just a rather good beginner’s resource for magic

Tulpa is a concept originally from Tibetan Buddhism and found in later traditions of mysticism and the paranormal of a materialized being or thought-form, typically in human form, that is created through spiritual practice and intense concentration.] Modern practitioners, who call themselves "tulpamancers", use the term to refer to a type of willed imaginary friend which practitioners consider to be sentient and relatively independent. Modern practitioners predominantly consider tulpas to be a psychological rather than a paranormal concept.[ The idea became an important belief in Theosophy.

As someone who does Oracle card readings, you nailed it on the head. Card readings, whether tarot or oracle, are tailored to be a very personal experience. You want the recipient to be there with you, so that energy is filling the space, some readers even allow the recipient shuffle the cards so their energy and questions are being directed into the cards being shuffled. Online doesn’t create that, it blocks off all emotion and energy, not to mention, devices create an energy field that could interfere with the said reading. Essentially these TikTok witches are just reading them selves, if you really want the truth.
Hi just a question does that mean the titok lives don't actually work because it's over the internet? Thank you if you find the time to answer :)
@@arianneclarke8319 can’t the if your being sarcastic or not 😆
How do you know this energy stuff? When I think of energy I think of potential and kinetic energy, or the bound vibrational energy of quarks and gluons in massless particles. What does it mean for this energy to fill a room, or enter cards? Can we measure this field emanating from devices you're talking about, if do, can we then measure how it effects the energy of a person or reading? If we can't measure it in any way, then how can we know this like you do?
I would say that they could be used for generalized readings like card of the day readings. But honestly, card readings are supposed to be in person to attune to the energy of the questioner, so idk what these witchtok peeps think they're reading beyond, as you said, themselves 😅
I had multiple private online readings and some of them were really on point. They told me thinks they couldn't know but were true. So it really depends on the reader.

Im a practicing witch (celtic pagan). Those “scroll or else” posts are beyond awful. I have OCD and my intrusive thoughts are awful, and seeing shit like that online makes it so so hard for me. That, and a bunch of other stuff, had made tiktok such a toxic place to learn witchcraft.
I love witchy things and am a huge tarot enthusiast but so many people on witchtok are divorced from reality in a scary way.
I am with you. I believe supranatural things exist and there are things that can't be explained by logic. But many witchtoks remind me of when I was eight, convincing my friend I can control water after I watched Avatar The Last Airbender 😭
Yeah, I myself am a witch, but not one on witchtok and they scare me because they seem to be doing stuff that would be in a cartoon and that could actually hurt someone. Normal witchcraft isn't something that's disconnected from reality, we still know what's real, but the witches on witchtok are crazy.
I love how you said “divorced from reality” lol, so true
some of them might end up divorced from more than just reality
no bc as a witch the whole “love spell to make them obsessed with me” made me so uncomfortable but everyone i saw on tiktok was loving it😭

Back in the pandemic, I got into witchtok and started pursuing casual paganism. I still hold onto that faith today, but witchtok now has just made it incredibly hard to be inspired.
This was a really well done and respectful video IMO, thanks for reminding me that these people are the extreme and not the norm.
I remember around the time technoblade died there was a lot of tiktok witches saying they worked with him as a pop culture deity. It really disturb me when they did that. Because to me it sounds like they were disrespecting his memory and were using it for clout.
That is super creepy imo, I seriously doubt he or his family would appreciate that…
It’s unfortunately down the similar avenue of those types of people who claim they’ve contacted celebrities and/or content creators after they’ve JUST died, and try to “talk” to them beyond the grave for the sake of gaining clout. The lack of self and moral awareness in some people is almost frightening.
You are not a witch. I work with Techno as a pop culture deity and I treat him just like I treat the other gods I worship! It’s a form of mourning and something that doesn’t hurt anyone, if you don’t do proper research on this stuff you don’t have a right to talk about it imo

The idea that there’s a SINGLE soulmate/match/twin flame out there for you was actually an incredibly destructive mindset for me. I avoided dating because I wanted to wait for my ‘ideal partner’ and neglected relationships because I thought: what if they aren’t the ONE?
I think there are such things as multiple soulmates, it’s not exclusive. It’s a person you have a healthy, growing, and rewarding relationship with who continue to make each other better people. Me and my best friends are soulmates, just not romantically.
See, you get it! To me, a soulmate is anyone you were destined to meet at some point in your life and stay with for a long time. It can be a platonic, romantic, or queerplatonic bond, and none of them have to be exclusive to a single person.
My farts are better than FunkyFrogBait's
I don't even believe in the concept of soulmates bc of that, we can have chemistry with multiple people in different ways (romantic, platonic etc), and the concept of single compatibility is a bit silly for me, especially when it goes down to "you're incomplete without the other person" - we're all whole, we just happen to "vibe better" with some people so to say, idk
Like, imagine we're all some sort of food/ingredient - full and great by ourselves, but every now and then we find we go pretty well with some other food/ingredients, that's kind of how I see it lol
Almost ten years ago I was madly in love with someone; he was my first actual love interest apart from some plathonic loves in high school that were basically obsessing over someone from a safe distance, silently. He rejected me multiple times to my face and later fucked off to become a scientologist. I often thought "what if there is really just one love in a woman's life and for me he was it" never really assigned great importance to that thought, but after that I became completely unable to develop and maintain a healthy relationship up until the point when I just gave up dating altogether and chose celibacy

I honestly had no idea the witchcraft communities could be so toxic, but well, considering how long I've lived on the internet, I feel like I really should have seen this coming.

Yes thank you! I am also a wiccan witch, but I haven't been actively practicing in a long time due to this kind of thing. The amount of people who go into witchcraft without any studying or understanding of its principles just piss me off so bad. I hate this new age TikTok witchcraft because it's getting people to do spells and magick that are very dangerous and harmful for newbies.

As an aroace who does cartomancy I can vouch for tarot readers being way too obsessed with romance, I treat love readings like spam emails atp
Frfr when I use tarot my results look to me more like "clean your goddamn room or else -the spirits" when someone who's obsessed with love will look at the exact same pull and see some weird shit that doesn't apply at all
Agreed, but we all know the real reason those “ love readings “ bring in the views and comments.
yeah-
It is exhausting how society is obsessed with romance/sex. I even get readers telling me they are so happy to do other topics as I usually ask self improvement questions.
Also, as a reader myself I never do ex-partner readings. It is a boundary of mine, keeping me sane.
Thank you for this video! I am a full time tarot reader that utilizes social media and there is sooooo much of the community that is saturated with toxic readers that prey on mainly vulnerable victims that are going through a difficult time.
Most of the actual knowledge of the tarot and other occult practices are disregarded and the reader will project their delusions onto whatever passerby will take the message. This has created many individuals going into a spiritual psychosis of sorts. It’s not okay. Be careful out there folks. Typically if a reader is telling you nothing but positive messages that everything is gonna work out, your ex is gonna come back, etc, it should raise some read flags. Tarot is meant to reveal truth.

@@Emihasdreamstoo yooo I was about to comment about that! I watched a whole documentary about it and it's gotten REALLY bad. They have plans to move to a commune I think in Michigan? And the two people who run the cult had a daughter recently and believe her to be their "third twin flame" or something. It's really alarming.
As a non-binary witch, yes, you hit the nail on the head on how toxic pretty much anything on manipulating someone else is. I mean, duh. We personally view "masculine" and "feminine" as NOT equal to "man" and "woman". As in, someone who identifies as a 'man' can be all kinds (or none) of 'feminine', and so on etc. There is no limit to how a human can express themselves and choose to present. The danger arrives when someone sees 'masculine' and 'feminine' as opposing forces or something. In competition. That is WRONG. They are 2 sides of the same coin and every single human has traits of both. And they are not limited to humanity -- those traits exist all over the natural world.

Think of magick or a spell like a building. The target of your magick is the foundation. The more precise it is the stronger the foundation, but as you try to spread it to more and more people, the weaker it gets. You cannot stretch your magick to thin or it flat out doesn’t work
