I watched this movie with my family when I'm around 7-8 years old and this movie makes me sad about 3 months. Now I'm 25, I still feel the sadness just from watching a trailer.
ztarbuck same here. Except im 20 and got about 2 gallons of tears.

TechFizz *Cried because its past tense
Zach Man you are talking about yourself, if you are talking about 2 or more you say "we cried at the movie"
+Zach Man. Hey Zach Man. TechFizz is right. It's "cry" not "cried" because the verb before that, "made" is already in the past tense. If you're doubtful, you can verify it yourself by researching about basic grammar on Google :)

I honestly think this trailer doesn’t capture how amazing this film is
The Domestic Lego Brick sameeee. The film is so much more than shown here
Thats the ideal trailer of a perfect movie
Deyna Vicenteca yes it is. This trailer is amazing like Shawshank
Mush better than a lot of trailers for the 90s
In fairness, though, I am not sure any trailer could have done the film justice.
I cried so much at the end. This film is an absolute gem. It's one of my all time favorite movie.
I only watched half of it.
Saddest part is the true story is base on George Stinney Jr. was the youngest person sentenced to death in the 20th century in the United States.
He was only 14 when he was executed by electric chair.
During his trial, until the day of his execution, he always carried a bible in his hands, claiming for innocence.
He was accused of killing two white girls, Betty of 11 years old and Mary of 7, the bodies were found near the house where the teenager resided with his parents.
At that time all the jurors were white. The trial lasted only 2 hours and the sentence was handed down 10 minutes later.
The child's parents were threatened and prevented from giving him gifts in the courtroom and then expelling them from that city.
Before the execution, George spent 81 days without being able to see his parents.
He was trapped in a solitary cell, 80 km from his city. He was heard alone without the presence of his parents or a lawyer.
He was electrocuted with 5,380 volts in the head.
70 years later, his innocence was finally proven by a judge in South Carolina. The beam with which the two girls were killed, weighed more than 19.07 kilograms. Therefore, it was impossible for Stinney to be able to lift it, let alone be able to hit hard enough to kill the two girls. The child was innocent, someone put everything together to blame him just for being black.
Stephen King was inspired by this case to write his book The Green Mile, which was taken to theaters in 1999.
😔😔😔😔😔😔 heart touching
I don't know who you are but I imagine as an old man telling this story in the front yard of his little countryside house.
Hes 84 now its sad how a innocent child just gets killed like just him a 3 year sentence instead of death

THE GREEN MILE ' is a movie based on a true story of the murder by electrocution of an innocent 12 years old black boy called George Sitinney jr. who was accused and charged with the murder of 2 Little white girls aged 7 and 12 in the year 1944, who were found dumped near George's homestead. The juror was all White, and the sentencing was passed after only 2 hours of trial. George was barred from seeing his family, and was only allowed a bible. He was electrocuted sitting on the bible which acted as a height booster because he was too little for the chair, his face uncovered as the mask fell off because it was too big for him,and with tears trickling down his face. Years letter after his death, a judge declared him innocent when the murder weapon was reviewed and concluded to be too big & heavy for a child the size and age of George, to have been able to lift it, leave alone be able to swing it and be able to kill somebody with it.

Tom Hanks is a great actor, but the most exceptional performances in this movie have to go to Michael Clarke Duncan as Coffey and Doug Hutchison who played the role of Percy. All in all though, everyone played a great part and the direction and cinematography was amazing.

Tom Hanks is considered among the best actors of all time. This movie was certainly an interesting movie, although despite how uniquely good this movie was, I wouldn't consider it my among my favorites of all time.
The ending makes me cry every time, specially when Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) shakes hands with John Coffey while he's sitting on electric chair (old sparky), it makes me cry every time.
Ahsan such an emotional movie. Way emotional than The Shawshank Redemption
My theory is that the big guy was the reincarnation of Jesus, or an equivalent. Which makes the ending even more messed up.
Elephants Are Cool i thought about that too
John Coffey, or J. C. and Paul the guard, if they named him Saul it would get too obvious. Paul became a 'believer in J.C. and lived a long life to tell his story' Paul in the bible was in Christ and Christ in him.
John Coffey was wipped and had stripes and was innocent. Jesus Christ, the only son of our Father in heaven was without sin (innocent) was tortured and died for us, to take our sins and sickness so all who believe in Him get saved, healed and live.
Funny enough, The Green Mile is in the same continuity as IT and The Shining
