A direct quote from the description by Axial Racing:
Now in kit form, the Yeti™ is a skillfully engineered rock racing vehicle with a solid rear axle and independent front suspension. Its distinct aesthetic and technical elements were inspired by full-size desert trucks. Its strategically engineered design supplies bashing stamina while delivering a high level of technical rock racing abilities without compromise in either category. This kit version will accept standard 1/10th scale brushed and brushless 4-pole systems and most major stick pack batteries. Precision machined aluminum shocks are standard equipment and deliver smooth suspension movement for consistent handling.

Waiting for you to recover, I watch old videos!
Always worth watch and rewatch from your channel.
Hoping to see you very soon man!
I am really liking the idea of getting a kit instead of an RTR, if or when I am able to afford something like this anyways, LoL!! Just as you stated about appreciating the time and effort that went into designing an RC and being able to trouble shoot anything that comes up later also helps to know if it is an easy trail fix or at home type of repair!!
Can't wait to see what paint design you come up with for this truck!!!!
***** The engineering involved in making these kits is just off the chain, I enjoy putting them together just as much as I do running them. :)
I know a few who have forgotten about the headlight paint mask so the light buckets can be used.
Can't believe i'm giving a paint tip to the paint master. lol
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
masterfurb1 Haha, very true! I'm always open for tips and advise, I absolutely do not know it all!
Can't wait to see you work your magic on that body!!!!
Hahaha - the diff fluid... happened to me too! That stuff was solo sticky and everywhere. Had a hard time getting it off my hands and table. Love your relaxed reviews and your paint skills are awesome!
Great Video Agree About The Kit And Building Brings A Different Dynamic Over RTR 👌
Great video! I rather have kit over RTR, more fun building it! And you know more about your RC and how it works!
I agree with you my brother. I just did my first build from scratch
Plus you know that it has been built correctly and that therer's no parts missing or loose.
yeah all screw are snug and what needs tread lock have it lol
And then when you have to take it apart, you know how to cuz u made it!
Swwwweeeeet,Great Video!always love your discussions. Looking forward to the seeing the paint scheme finshed product.
andrew richey Hi Andrew! I hope to get her painted up this week, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!
Well you were right about the tyres cant really tell until completed but they do look in proportion. I like it very much i also like the look of the XL also
paulmcnamara16 They are monstrous!
I'm starting to get into the rock racing stuff coming from 1/8 scale nitro racing and wanted to do u4rc racing and some trail riding as some rock climing. im looking at the Bomber, the yeti and the losi rock ray what would be the best set up for my needs. Thanks agan
u da man chris
Great video! I just finished building the kit, and like you I was amazed at the engineering that went into it. However, I was surprised that there were more than a few mistakes in the instruction manual, not to mention omissions of several features. How did they design that roll cage and then miss obvious manual mistakes? But overall an excellent kit and I'm very happy with it.
I did a double take on a few steps too, yet after some more thoughts none of the mistakes in the manual were too hard to correct prior to building. I think this is still one of my all time favorite trucks!
What kind of esc and motor do you have
Still back ordered at Tower here in the States. Where did you get yours from?
Chris whats up hope all is good. bro can i run trenchers on my stock RTR Yeti? can the stock ecs handle it?
Thanks Joe Cam
i agree kits are way better...
some just wanna open the box and go bashing...
warriorr haunt Building is a huge part of the fun for me, always!
Great video!!! And i was wondering how hard is it to build the kit i never put a kit together but i want to cuz i think it will get me more into the hobby
Tyler Burdick Hi Tyler, it's not hard at all, just take it step by step and make sure you have the right tools for the job. Good luck!
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more
Ok thanks i was worried about what if i did buy it and i couldn't put it together haha
Wish I had watched this before I purchased the mamba max pro sct as you did. How much did you have to alter the battery box to get it to fit? Now I'm sad :(
It wasn't bad. I got it to fit like you did and it doesn't interfere with batteries at all.
Nice video man. As far as upgrades which had more, the Yeti or the scx10 Dingo? I'm considering a Dingo, would I be better off with the Yeti?
MyRCexperience The Yeti is a far more complex car and comes with more upgrades, when it comes to building it you will almost spend double the time on the Yeti for sure!
Great video as always. Do you have any plans on building the yeti xl next now that they came out with the kit version?
Joey Kerper Yes, haha!
Haha awesome
Same with my yeti
I hope you will paint the roll cage too.
***** Most likely I won't, I like the black.
how much torque and speed are you looking in the servo for the yeti?
Darryll LaF Going to try the WP646 by hitec first, I hope that one will do the job.
I got my Yeti RTR because there wasn't a kit available yet, makes me really wish I had waited. Pretty much everything that was addressed with the kit has failed on my RTR including the hubs, front dog bones, and the diff gears. Since it was new it's had an overheating issue regardless of whether I run 2 or 3 cell batteries through it. Axial did not respond when I contacted them about my ESC. At this point it sits under my RC desk waiting on a new ESC/Motor combo whenever I finally decide what to go with. Really regret buying this RC, love my wraith and scx10's but this is one Axial I should have passed on at least until the kit version came out.
Marcin Jaskowiak Good thing there is such an amount of aftermarket parst available, I bet with a few tweaks your rtr can put a smile on your face. I'm pretty sure even my kit will receieve some upgrades down the line, it's not easy leaving them as they are.
I put the diff fluid in hot water 1st
are there any other big basher trucks you recommend that come in a kit from
The Bomber is pretty damn nice!
Thanks for the recommendation. I will take a look at it
I am thinking of getting this but I really want an Exo Buggy.. But they are hard to find.
John Cardenas I think this will offer you more fun, as working on the Yeti is way easier than working on the Exo Terra.
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more Well I am already looking for it now..I got an Exo Terra for a great Price as a roller so i couldn't pass it up.Thanks! Love the Vids the XL Yeti Vid is great.
you should paint it gold
the dif oil thing happened to me on my exo
E and T RC Nice surprise or what? Hahaha!
yea It sucked so bad. I was just refilling the diffs and it just exploded all over my work bench
Are you dutch
Mysterious Gamer Sure am!
