Wow!! My eyes are full of tears of joy! I just discovered your blog today and I recognized an amazing woman! Most importantly I learned that gardening doesn't mean to be perfect! I love gardening and I work a lot, vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, sometimes I feel overwhelmed but not anymore! Love ❤️ your cake 🎂 and the entire presentation. Your voice is warm and very agreeable. Thank you!!

Your coral bells brought to mind a song I learned as a child, which I had not thought about in many years. This song, I think, is referring to lilly of the valley. Here are the lyrics...."White coral bells, upon a silver stalk; Lillies of the valley deck my garden walk; Oh don't you wish that you could hear them ring? That will only happen when the fairies sing."

The hole in the soil with the cob wall of mud, surely belongs to a new character in your paintings and storybooks. Mr Crayfish, well know known as crawdad... and long ago was a weather broadcaster of wet, foul rainy condition. Little critter will daub up the hole so water will not drench its home. When weather clears up, they will open the hole to let air circulation occur. At rare times, the craydad will be a brilliant blue. One can view their cousin in a creek nearby. I hope this helps identify your critter.

I enjoyed the information on decorating your garden with brick/gravel and garden decor. It was needed since I needed assistance on just how much garden decor was too much. It really helped a lot. I have been laying concrete lily pads around my garden and was using pea gravel to fill in between. I wish I had extra rock laying around like you do but. good ole garden centers will do the trick. What we call crawdads make those holes! We had a very mischievous cat who loved to tease them by sticking her paw barely in the hole until the crawdad would come out, brandishing her claws, ready for a fight. Kitty would watch it for awhile and then walk away only to return later and start the whole process again. As far as I know, she was never pinched by those claws.

Everything is enchanting and thank you so sincerely I feel as if I have entered a dream realized . Love and blessings Dear Jeri you inspire me and warm my heart and share wisdom that I crave , the kind of things we would sit on the porch or in the yard and listen to all the history and curious mystery . Today on independence day in NJ USA I planted an olive tree in my yard to symbolize my wish for peace on earth ❤️🕊

Yes in a large container and I will bring in Miss Olive May . I will have to give her good pruning as i understand they can reach 6 feet . Oh My where will I live LOL ??? and live inside for the winter months ,we live in 7b but that’s a pleasure not a bother to me Dearest Jeri 💕❤️✨🕊. She will be accompanied by Ann Ronnel a small weeping willow and Ms Julia Sugarbaker my georgia peach which has grown large enough to winter in the fenced in garden . My citrus tree’s go in the front bay window . I have a humble colonial ranch that My Grandfather built in 1959 , its a year younger than me ☺️🙏🏼❤️ I am very blessed ✨🙏🏼✨ Love & Blessings ☺️

We have those same holes in our yard near the creek, they're made by crawfish. I too salvage gravel from our property for filler in my rock pathways and soon to be new fire pit area. I've been adding to our rock work in the gardens a lot this year, mainly from rock I've gathered from family that have more rock than they want in some areas, free for the taking. I have six large oakleaf hydrangeas to plant (not counting 12 I started from cuttings) in a new garden area, and another new shade garden too that I just bought the plants for (the prices were too good to pass up). I add old galvanized items throughout my garden (my herb garden is planted in 8 old wash tubs) along with some concrete animals, then I sprinkle in a bit of whimsy with a couple of old wheelbarrels, wagons and bikes for planters. Thanks for sharing your lovely gardens.

Looks like a crawfish mound like we have here in Mississippi.
