The choir melody from the song bears resemblance to a Christian hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus", also known as "Beautiful Savior". In Sweden, the same melody is also used in Psalm 297 - "Härlig är jorden" ("Lovely is the Earth").
The video depicts the Skirmish at Bender where an overwhelming force of Ottoman Empire soldiers captured the swedish king defended by the Royal Guard.

We derive our family name from the location of a piece of land granted to my ancestor for his service in the Livgardet 400 years ago during the Thirty Years War. Years ago I petitioned the crown to grant us a family coat of arms...successfully! From my sons to my immigrant grandfather, we are 4 generations of US Army combat veterans. Our family also proudly claims many more Swedish vets as well, including 3 other Life Guards. Think my boys and I, and my 87 year old father before he recently passed, like Sabaton much?!? 🤘😈🤘

It's so damn good! I remember going "oh shit" as I saw the army outside. I remember hearing the lead singer Joakim say that he's a bad actor but I'd say that this video shows differently. The Life Guard or Royal Guard is Sweden's oldest unit celebrating 500 years this year. From the beginning, there were only 16 men from Dalarna, the same landscape that Sabaton comes from
Due to this, the Swedish Armed Forces and Sabaton started a collaboration to write a song about this, but the Armed Forces did not dare to complete the collaboration and withdrew due to Sabaton being questioned in some politically correct circles. Sabaton then finished writing the song on his own.

The fighting depicted in the video is the Skirmish at Bender, where the Ottomans got sick of Karl XII freeloading in Ottoman Moldova and urging them to enter and continue to fight a losing war with Russia (after having his own army destroyed at Poltava) and attempted to storm the estate he had been living in. The king and 40 of his Royal Guard held out for 7 hours against "many hundreds." The Ottomans eventually resorted to artillery and fire arrows, and only after the roof caught fire did they dislodge the Swedes. The king himself tripped on his spurs exiting the burning building, where he was subdued and captured by dozens of men. He was held prisoner for over a year, until news of a Swedish victory against the Danes and Saxons reached them.

Wait, does that mean you really only "listened" to their song Bismarck back then after you did your first Sabaton reaction and didn't watch the video yet? Because there's no way you would ever have forgotten watching this Mother Of All Music Videos.

That is true yes, we then got caught up with all the other epic songs of Sabaton that we never actually checked out the music video. Seems like we have another reaction to do then... 😀😀

In one of the reactions about this song there actuallu was some turks whining about making this song and celebrating killing turks. This is a people who used chemical weapons on civilians in the 90´s killing thousands of people and now they are trying to get favours to include sweden into Nato more or less extortion.
