    Beautiful energy Josh. I'm currently at Method & Technique level 4 and always watch your introductory videos just to recharge myself with a positive vibe :)

      Hey there, thanks so much for the kind words. 😊 I’ve got to get back into making those. I think you’ve helped inspire me today. So thanks!! 😁 Happy practicing!!!

    Josh - I'm a beginner (SASR 330) Quick question: What should I focus on during those 20 seconds before the SASR begins, to best improve my score and advance?

      Hey there, I think the right answer is to look at the whole piece and see if there’s anything that trips you up. I honestly don’t do this, but maybe I should. If anything, I will play the piece a little bit to get into the vibe of what it will sound and feel like. If I don’t do that, I’ll just press play and hope for the best, but that’s only if I know it or it looks super easy. 😂

    Thanks Josh, great explanation of how the SASR works. I'm a 59 year old beginning piano player, currently at Level 1C. With that in mind, at what level should I think about trying the Beginner SASR test?
    Much thanks to you and all the great folks at Piano Marvel for putting all this amazing piano instruction together!

      Thank you!! I think you could try the Beginner SASR test now! It might be hard or even seem like "too much", but it's good to establish a base line. You can only go up from here! Who knows, you might even surprise yourself and get a higher score than you'd think! 😊😉

      I’m a beginner and took my first test yesterday at the beginner level. I failed miserably.. I’ll keep at it!

    Hi Josh ! Thank you for your great work ! I just love Piano Marvel ! I have two questions though : is it possible to "re-initialize" a level in a Method/Technique section ? For example I went through 5 exercises in the level 3 of the Method section and I would like Piano Marvel to consider that I did not start that level at all. My second question is : is there any kind of synchronization to respect between the Method and the Technique section levels/exercises ? Thank you ! 😊

      I can have the developers delete your progress if you’d like. For me, I noticed a relation between SASR and method 3-5, but only barely. At the end of method 5 things start to get hard and in method 6 the songs you play can be all the way up to a level 10 in library.

      @@joshmills754 Thanks, Josh, for your quick answer and proposal ! If it is easy for your developers I would love to resume from levels 3 of Method and Technique (I realized recently that I missed several videos that could have been very instructive... ). Again, if it takes too much of your developers time, just forget my request ! Thanks again and have a great musical day !

    I've just started using the SASR and find that the scrolling isn't fast enough. By the time the next line has scrolled into view the first note on that line has already played, so I miss that note every time, and usually I miss more notes because I lose my place and panic. I'm using a 13 inch laptop, which is big enough for the method and library scrolling, but not the SASR.

      That is pretty easy to fix. If you zoom out with your browser, you can see more music. You can also go to full screen view to see a larger screen.

    SASR Is a fantastic tool, had to get it set up properly on my computer to view it correctly but its been helping. Finally was able to get my high score to 1141, really hoping to get to that 1200-1250 range in the next couple of months!

    I am not able to try your sight reading from my iPad on an acoustic piano.

    • @joshmills754
      @joshmills754 Před rokem

      Yes, that is what it is supposed to be right now, but we do have a microphone assessment coming soon. You can actually try that now if you’d like - it’s just a very beta version of this so don’t expect it to work well for more than one note at a time. This is going to be coming soon, but we have other things to do before that. With that being said, would you like to try this out?

    • @aarongarner580
      @aarongarner580 Před rokem

      Estela you are correct, currently you have to have a digital piano, but within a few months you will be able to take in on your iPhone or iPad with your acoustic piano. The accuracy will depend on how many notes in the song there are. Are you beginner, intermediate or advanced?
