You are absolutely right - it looks and feels terrible. As soon as I attached the strap I realised this was not going to stay in place. I used it a few times and hated the way it looked. I tried everything - pulling the tabs right down onto the base of the handles but it still rode up. No way is this a good solution. I'm going for the grommets now.
Thanks Sandy! I had a feeling the straps (while attached a bit differently from what you showed) would do exactly as you described. I think the grommets are definitely the best choice!!! In your videos you show a hard disc to use,can you advise what and where to find those items? Thank you so much!!!!🥰
True.. I did see there is now a newer version of this conversion with an additional hook.. Maybe that works a bit better but love the look of the grommets more anyway lol. The hard disc was actually scrap from an old table lamp but any very hard surface will do.. stone/brick.. something like that.. on any other surface I had a hard time punching the holes. Hope this helps x
I purchased both the grommets kit and also the tabs. I feel like the tabs rub on the sides of the leather handle causing friction which weakens the handles - also I don't like the way the straps sits. the grommets I am yet to put on but think I will prefer the look of it.

tucke it in so it will anchor better and avoid gliding. mine works very well and I love my LC mini le pliage black❤
Tuck the little leather nibs into the opening of the handle where it attaches to the bag. If you don't, the d-rings will slide up the handle.

The new style have a hook which hooks inside of the handle and prevents it from sliding up.

This video is not misleading. It's entirely accurate - the straps attached to the base of the handles like that simply do not work.
