- There are many roads to take in life and many ways to chose them, make sure you pave your own road. In this video, we'll do a little bit of life in the truck house, get out on an adventure, and talk about the reason I still have my nomadic roots.

You said it perfectly. "From the bottom of your heart". I Spent 20 years of my 77 living life on the road, in a tent with my dog, as I wanted. Able to go wherever I 😂wished. Thirty years I raised 4 kids pretty much by myself. Those were wonderful years too.
Now I live in an Assisted Living place as an invalid. Now I will finish my life living it through you, Tim. Plus Steve, Xander, Joe, Allen, Jarl and others. This makes me happy and even tho' I never get to get outside my bedroom, I'm still living just as I please. This watching you watching Jarl in a blizzard, joining Allen and Blue scramble up the Highlands, is a way I'm with you, loving every minute.
From your words I am noting you had a well traveled and much loved life. Good memories are yours just for the asking. Be well, stay well.
Why don't you get to leave your room? That sounds abusive!....
Many blessings to you! 👍😎🇨🇦⚘
That's great, sounds like you've lived a pretty full one!!:)
From an old trucker, barber, hang in partner!
So many people have jobs that they hate, but they are tied to for many reasons. You found a way to work, play and live a good life. Congratulations on making it all work for you.
Thank u, trying to make it work!
I'm retired, and have taken my corporate life induced PTSD on the road-- full time since 2011. As a Graphic Designer at Boeing for 24 yrs-- job was great; people not so much. Anyway, My lifetimes greatest pleasure is road trips, driving, exploring what's up around each curve. I traveled hundreds and hundreds of miles on Washington's FS roads. To lakes, ridges, unparalled views. I know each fabulous spot for camping, kayaking, hiking as alone as one can get. But, this year I've left washington state, my beauty, my friend, because shes unimaginably over-crowded and I dont speak spanish.. This summer I explored the Elk Cap wilderness of Oregon, and Idahos Salmon River area. I always winter in Arizona then off again to Utah Colorado, Wyoming for further exploration. Anyway, been doing this NON STOP since 2011....yep, 2011. Changed from big Dodge Ram and brand new trailer to SUV and brand new large tear drop, a SunRay 115. I park on rivers, lakes edges, cliff views, ocean beaches, Glacier basins...etc. anytime, anywhere. I love it immensely..I'm a 71 year old woman now, was raised in the outdoors by the most incredible outdoorsman father. I could live in a house, in a town but I will only do that when they drag my bleeding fingers over the rocks and stumps. If I was a man with the knowledge and knowhow men have I would have lived in Alaska in a Yukon second!!
Oh, BTW, medium rare.
I wrote this year's ago:
Alone by the river,
Gazing high to the peaks,
The fresh mountain wind in my hair,
My soul is restored,
my spirit renewed,
For its God that I feel when I'm there.
Your so right I have cancer and I go camping with you . other wise I can't do much anymore you bring me to the woods where I wish I could.thank you so much
Sorry to hear that, glad I can bring some sort of adventure to you.
Your opening statement is dead on. When I hit the road, its so peaceful and everything is new. I find such happiness when just driving and traveling. Its by far my favorite thing to do. Well said.
Right on:)
my father was diagnosed with dementia 3 weeks ago and ive been pretty lost. i've also found your channel since then and its genuinely a life saver right now. thank you for your content tim, i've needed a lifestyle change for a long time and i think i can see the life i need now.
Way to go, me too. I’m recovering from Maxillofacial jaw surgery. I’m just now able to enjoy things again after 14 months of recovery. I just found this channel and I have to say I’m really jealous of this life style.
I understand what you are going through I have been caring for my father now for a couple of years or more and he also has dementia and its not easy watching them go slowly down hill and as they unfortunately do your work load gets more hectic with all the doctors appointments and government support workers. What makes it hard for me is that I myself am disabled, I am riddled with arthritis. I agree watching this channel helps, I myself have a slide on camper on a 2 wheel drive Mazda bravo I also have an old Toyota Hilux kited out as an overlander with a rooftop tent etc. The trouble is I can't really use them much, I can only go overnight adventures, but any adventure and camp is better than none. Hope I haven't patronised you, keep your chin up and keep strong you are very rare mist people park their loved ones off into a nursing home. Bless you
It’s exhausting
I know first hand
Just watch Dad fade to nothing
He drove highway till he was 78 years old
Now I know why
He passed last Aug at 83, I wish you well it’s a hard journey
I’ve been there
@@GregB-kc1rb thank you.
It's gotta be a great feeling to make people happy to see you in person 😊
Yup it's cool:)
Hey Tim, yes you are an inspiration for a lot us and I do thank you for helping to motivate us to step out and do what we love. Two more weeks of work till retirement, house is going on the market then truck camper life full time! Can't wait!
Thanks for sharing your life and adventures man!!
Awesome! Cya out on the road sometime!
I realized when I was on tour with an old band that I never feel more "right" and alive than when I am traveling. When you have a destination and a goal that you can easily track and make visible progress towards, life becomes simple. Maybe it's in my blood since I'm part Viking.
Sounds like you know haha;)
16:40 beautiful. peaceful. relaxing. silent.
Hi Timmy, definitely a « rare « grilled meat lover. When i can’t grill the meat i take a cast iron pan, heat it up well, put some salt on the bottom ( no butter or oil ) and cook the meat 😊
Found your channel just a couple days ago, what a treat. I’m a nurse who works for herself, mainly teaching and consulting in Hospice. I love what I do however this is a great way to take a break and breath in some great landscape and adventures. Thank you! ✌️
You are relatable and genuine Tim. You have a humble spirit yet exciting. I for one always always look forward to your next adventure. 🇱🇷
You were fortunate enough to find a way to make a livable nomadic lifestyle but most are not as fortunate at the moment but everything is temporary!
Yup there's a different way to go about it for everyone for sure.
Your vision for life works. Thanks for taking us along.👍👍👍👍
Of course!
I used to eat my steaks "Medium" then one evening I was at a restaurant in Pacific Grove California, it was a company party. I ordered the Fillet cooked medium rare as I had been told that fillets were better a little more on the rare side. When the steak arrived it was bloody rare, my boss leaned over and told me to send it back with a scowl on her face. I plowed through it bloody as it was. I discovered that night that I had been living a lie, rare fillet is heavenly. As a cousin of mine says "kill it, wipe its ass and throw it on the plate" Fillet Mignon- Rare. Ribeye- Medium Rare. Burgers-pink in the middle.
I feel the same way. Driving with no destination. Pure happiness and freedom in that
Came across your channel a while back. I have pretty much the same truck. Slowly building it up for my family. Alaska is now on my bucket list (but quite far from Quebec tho). I travel the lower 48 in a semi and you are right about driving, sometimes it's all you need. Hoping to cross your path someday. I Love your work man!
Nice! Maybe cya out there!
Sounds like the Restless Heart song " Wheels " should be the theme song for you guys 😊
I really enjoy your videos and love your camper. I am fulltime in my motorhome and learning the ropes.
I built a small camper on a utility trailer that I live in. Escaped the midwest and now here I am in the northern rockies. Yours was one of the channels that made me slap this shack together.
The freaking shuffle is real though. Swear, if I haven’t moved every item within close proximity to the door like 3 times in a day, something must be off 🤣
Can't wait to see your new cabin finished definitely one-of-a-kind
I love watching what you love to do! Your accomplishments are remarkable!😊
Thank you so much!
Kinda hard not to miss your rig up here....I've seen you loads of times but don't want to bother you for exactly the reason you just stated. Best of luck and enjoy.
Alaska is really beautiful. I cant wait to see the views from your home when your done building it 😊
Love seeing how you get to live, so many of us are tied to debt and jobs we hate. Life is too short to work all the time.
When I watch one of your videos, I think THIS is my favourite of Timmy's videos! Then I watch another and go, No, THIS is my favourite!
Guess what? THIS was my favourite video!
Yes man , the sky an wilderness look good man , I love it. Thanks for sharing your vids of life with us , we enjoy it ❤ take care Timmy , I’ll re watch after work .
of course!
Hi Timmy. I love your adventures. I live vicariously thru your videos.
Thank u:)
I do, too! Still love being outside (camping) but haven't done in over 20 years. Thank you, Timmy, for all your videos, adventures, and allowing your fans to live it through you!! Keep em coming 😊
That river reminds me of running the Arkansas river at high water up around Buena Vista Colorado. Been down it a number of times. Enjoy!
Nice! I've floated that a few times:) Got a video paddling Royal Gorge if you look back at my videos from last fall/winter;)
@@TruckHouseLife yeah. Saw it a few months ago. I rant hat too back in the late 80s.
Thank you for sharing. You are learning key life lessons at a good time in your life - and sharing your inspiration. Keep up the good work.
trying to!
To answer your question, I too like my meat rare and juicy! But I must compliment you, because I admire your independence, and I can only imagine the sense of liberty and freedom you feel. It's kind of like the way I felt when I retired after working 40-60 hours a week all my life. Now I just sit back and enjoy my garden and all the time to myself without being at someone's beck and call day after day. Plus, I can stay up as late as I want watching videos just like yours. Oh, by the way, I've never gone kayaking before but thanks to you I got to experience that a little bit from the comfort of my recliner. Thank you, sir! Much luck to you!
Sounds like you know the feeling;)
your so correct. We live in a society that’s demands so much structure there’s no room for creativity.
I’m with you. I like my burgers medium rare.
Heck ya!
Have fun while your young and healthy, and unattached.
You are a gifted narrator and story teller, and you pay close attention to your inner self alongside the world outside. I love your perspective on time and how we choose to spend that valuable asset. Thank you again for sharing. Btw the river kayaking scenes were awesome. I whitewater drafted once and decided watching others do it was far safer Lol
Love your show Timmy!! Your filming is excellent!! Your whitewater kayaking was a thriller!! Personally, I don't think I would have the nerve do that!! But I sure enjoyed watching you do it!! You made it look easy!!! Anyway, thank you for bringing us along!! Keep up the good work!!!
Thank u!
Just stumbled upon this video tonight, good stuff man. Keep on livin 🤙🏻 world needs people like you
Thanks Jeff!
Great a new one!!! Thanks!!
You bet!
Not going anywhere, love it....
hell ya man. I spent the last year travelling after saving money for 10 years. It's been awesome living how I want, doing what I want. In that time I learned it's also entirely okay to absolutely nothing if you want. I stopped getting upset because I wasn't doing something I thought I "should be doing" and understood how to listen to my heart a little more. sounds cheesy but it's true.
Sounds like you got it figured out haha;)
Enjoyed your video. Always wanted to visit Alaska but never have so I visit it through Truck House Life. Actually, back in 1975 my flight to Okinawa Japan stopped for refuelling in Anchorage but it was night time out so really didn't see anythng. Marine Corps. Your videos are good to relax to. Thanks.
Thanks:)
Hi Timmy nice place beautiful scenery, the tranquility of the lake awesome stay safe out there
That's great that Cabela's allows that. A lot of places are starting to axe the overnight parking.from what I've heard.
yup they're great!
Sitting in the airport waiting on a delayed flight. Heading to Gauley fest in WV. Good way to kill time.
Thanks for the video.
Yeyah! enjoy! Wish I was going this year! Last time I went was 2016
1 month ago I watched this video, now I'm still watching it over and over, not the kayaking part though, I fast forward that part of the video. I fast forward it here 10:16
it's just so peaceful and away from the city.
FANTASTIC video Tim! 🙅🏻♀️😘
Thanks mom;)
Always glad to watch a new video
Much love from Ohio ❤️
thank u!
Enjoying watching your adventures. I never realized how many hours there are in a day until I retired. I'm in Texas, born and raised. It's fun to see beautiful Alaska. I'm glad that you are living the life that you love. I'm inspired to simplify my life....even your food looks delicious and simple. Thank you for your videos.
Now we need to put notes in your mailbox if we happen to see you!!! I live in Michigan and I have a few friends who know who you are! You're awesome Timmy!
Do it haha! Cya out there!
Ive always travelled, too. Think about it: our (non First Nations) ancestors came to North America from all over the globe and we just kept moving around since then!👍😎🇨🇦🌊 Feed your soul!!
As an old paddler myself your kayaking videos are great keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Love you so much Bro , God bless you for loving Gods earth may He keep you safe forever!!♥️

Great videos, nice nature in the USA! All the best from Serbia!

Hello, your video appeared on my CZcams profile awhile back I was very interested how you built that cute little camper on the back of your truck, and how you love your cookies and smash burgers 😂, keep working on your new home that's also nice to watch it grow into your home. Teresa from Kansas
Don’t wanna be recognized? I guess fame can cause problems. I think what your doing is awesome! Don’t ever stop! Reach for the sky!
Just left Alaska saw your place looks great. Thanks for the video
Rigth on!
I like my burger done and my steaks medium rare. Love it when you cook. Beautiful country.
28 years on road with work, 41 states. Have a system that works. Enjoy life. Sweet Baby rays Temaki sauce Good. Rare, as long as you don't have to run it down. Porch life is the good life. Good vid, next time. Be safe
Sounds like you got it figured out:)
I was very enjoying by seeing this video 😊❤
Yooo Timmy , The new house is looking good! You got some great skills🏚️⚒️🪚🪛

Of course! Thanks man:)
Good job on the music from Matt and Forrest
They make some great tunes! Check out Alaska Cabin Adventures (my buddy Matt's channel) and tell him Timmy sent ya;)
Sounds like you have a awesome nomadic life as well. Maybe you should wrtie a book about it, since you can't leave your room why not make best of it .Share your experiences with us all..Also the main reason I wanted to leave you a comment sir , is to say your are not a invalid...You are very valid ..Be well fren, stay up..never let world drag you down ...🤙
Sure, hit the road and live the Van life, but that new house you’re building can’t be cheap.
Nope it's taken every dime that I've saved up, but it'll be worth it in the end, it's basically my retirement plan lol
If you have music in your cab, play Willie Nelson's "On the road again," Eddie Rabbit's "I love a rainy night, Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby Magee," and maybe the Cascades " Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain."
Hi Timmy. Really good vid. Hey I very well may run into you up north. I'll try not to turn the dog loose on you. Some wild water. Good ride down, safe. Good to see you are taking a break from the house build. Make living life a priority. At 68 just now I know. People need to get out and go all they can with whatever they got. Enjoy it. Then they can decide what direction in life to take. Nice hidden lake. Maybe some fish in it. Close to the road. You just have to pay attention to find those places. They are out there.
Thanks! Maybe cya out there!
Me too....! Really love being on the road.
Frigging Right....time is our most precious thing and your lifestyle resonates with your entire community.....(Kudos) As for any whitewater adventures (love them)....and your FORD 1993 Truck BEAST wants to say thank you for not taking him to Burning man this year.....ALL that MUD vs working on your future expansion was/is a great TRADE OFF.....Burning next year will be worth all your SWEAT equity as they say!!! Cheers, 1000 islands Canada
Thanks! yup the burn looked crazy this year, I had a ticket lined up, but didn't go so I can finish my pad
Inspiring content dude. Been miserable for a good part of my life now and need to break free of my mental chains, I've known this for far too long but has been quite hard to actualize.
Just found your channel, what an amazing content. I have been on the road in minicamper and campers through Europe mostly and man i so dig your ingenuity and simple style. That is what it is, living the nomadic outdoor life. Knowing what to take from nature and how and when , to make a quick fire or such. One does not need much, but the stuff you have must be bombproof. Preferably multifunctional. I am thankful to discover your channel Sir.
Great spot... Good to see you and thanks for spreading your passion everywhere✨
I am semi retired and I think it’s been marriage and having a family that has kept me tethered most of my life. I don’t hate my job or my life. I always found time to do the things I love and with my wife and kids. I do a lot of long distance backpacking now and also more extended ski trips. I would not trade my kids and family for anything and to be honest there was no CZcams to make a living from back in the day. When I was young, late teens and early 20’s I was pretty much a rock climbing dirt bag and yea we lived like dirt bags. Take care
You missed the most important item on your burgers, Onions!
Enjoy your videos. Reminds me of my days of exploring and canoeing and kayaking.
Your living my dream Tim I feel the same in my truck in Michigan all by myself
you said it, 'TIME', I lived off one page check and retired early, missed the work though and took one more contract before retiring at 62.
The 'work from Home' has made a lot of people realize how much the work place slowly kills you....
Many content providers delay their videos, so their are no longer at the locations in the videos....
If people want to see your 'camper'.....they can watch your videos...
Yup, nailed it:) haha
Stuck in my crap life & job but I always look forward to your videos realized that I use your videos to escape thanks and keep up the good work &stay safe
Always enjoy your Awesome video's, keep up the great work, Thank You!
Thanks, will do!
Hello I'm from the Phil I always follow your vlog and I want to see more beautiful place and more view in different place thanks
Thanks Elena!
Thank you 🎉 your videos are great!
Thank u!
You are a very impressive human!
thank u:)
Im a 9 to 5 IT worker in Florida. Opposite dream life. Smart with the double cabin. Gdluck!!!
Yeah buddy you are a inspiration … you make me want to get out and live life instead of 60 hours a week on my job that never ends…thanks for the videos buddy…
I've been there man, glad u enjoyed it
I used to live in anchorage and miss it so much so I love watching your videos and seeing familiar places. When I came back to va I converted and lived in my e150 full time. I miss that too. So thank you for sharing. I love watching your videos
I'm a stage 4 cancer patient who is basically immobile from myopathy. Your videos inspire me and I look for them. As for burgers, I like all mine well done. Lol 😂
Sorry to hear that Stephanie, glad you find some joy in them:)
WELL-DONE! ONLY WELL DONE.
How can people not recognize you. Especially if they follow your channel? Im brand new to your channel and totally love your adventures . If i ever cross paths with you i would be saying hi at least. But im in texas so dont think that will happen but if it did id day hi. 😊
Love you and appreciate the escape ❤
I was a welldone guy too but have moved to medium
I saw you parked at Lowes in Anc recently...then like a week later I find this..haha nice!
Nice lol!
11:32 is the best time of this video, peace and calm.
kayaking is not one of my likes though. usually in the kayaking time I fast forward or skip that part of the video
Working towards that dream ❤ soon 🙌
Cya out there!
@TruckHouseLife I'm at a crossroads, I eventually want a flat deck for my truck , do I do that first or build my cabin , then modify to fit the flatdeck afterwards 🤔.
That truck is a worthy road companion!
Just wanted to say....Great video!
As a college teacher, you have it nailed as to the 'why' we do this.
The teacher in you comes through in this video!
From a fellow ukulele player, thank you and love your uke!!!!!!😊
Tim, loved your video. When you were sitting on your porch talking about your perspective of what things are important to you (such as time) was awesome! Life is too short and it can be taken away at any time. Live your life with no regrets and you will live a full life! 🤘
