I'm not into rock music that much, but damn, PJ Harvey is a goddess, so much respect, I'm f***ing amazed and glad I found of her in this pretty short life.
If you haven't seen her live and are a fan you have to if you get the chance. She is a top grade performer and musician in studio and live. I'd say she's better and sounds better than the albums live and brings a lot of raw emotion to her performances. I hope I get the chance to catch her perform live again.
He should not be hid He's just too big In a cloud please come down I'd put stars at your feet Put Mars in your head Show yourself to me And I'd believe I'd moan and I'd weep Fall silent at your speak I'd burst in Full to the brim Mary lost her head And let it bleed Came crying back to me "My son where's he hid? Don't deny it And don't you hide him" [Chorus] No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him [Verse 2] No words No sign Mary say "I'm not lying" How come he's so big But good lord he's been hid Good lord where you hid? Ha! [Chorus] No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him
I've seen video of every tour she has done. This by far is my favorite! The look, the sound, the band! Still waiting for her to get back to this. Maybe she could team up with John Parish again! That would be to cooool
well, word has it that Parish is contributing to her next album, as well as the keyboard player, Eric Drew Feldman, both of whom have been absent for a while. John especially, he hadn't contributed to either of the last two albums.
yea, I adore this song and performance. The whole 98 Bizarre Fest video actually. The audio fidelity on youtube really diminishes my enjoyment of this. Or maybe it's just that this bootlegged dvd version of the performance isn't so great. Sounds much better on my copy. Anyway, my other particular faves from this performance are Electric Light, Snake, and that part in Joy when the music drops out and she screams 'NO HOPE FOR JOY!!!' in between the unrelenting hammering of guitars.
Both Tori And PJ are talented yet are ladies with different styles. They should not be compared >=\ Anyways, this song is probably my favorite off Rid Of Me :)
@anodreams Also, have I ever mentioned how rank I think Amos's voice is? It is so flimsy and affected. Especially the way she ennunciates words! Good God!
@marxman00 this song doesn t need of any stupid sound... i never left my pound I have internet here and can very easly watch youbute without any probs...you should pop in one day, it smells of shit but after few months you ll call it fresh air... it s ok don t be upset about my comment about that stupid sound...you don t understand
@CasinoNight Tori Amos is the epitome of fucking stagnation. Everything she has ever done is so boring and uninspired. I absolutely despise her..I don't see the fascination at all. She's at best a very pale Kate Bush knock off...or would that be more Elton John in drag? Anyway, for the love of god stop comparing the two. Polly should not have to be mentioned in the same sentence as her. Enough!
Ms. Harvey has a truly unique way of looking at things.
This sometimes makes me cry
Everytime almost
She's such an underrated guitar player. Her fun rhythms and chords express the emotions so well.
THATS MY ALLTIME FAVORITE POLLY HAIRSTYLE, SUPER COOL
The slide guitar and keyboard add so much to this song. And here I thought the studio version was already absolutely perfect!
Yeah, they ruin it
I'm always amazed that that huge voice comes out of such a tiny person. She is incredible.
1 of my all time favorite songs..

Amazing version! But I missed that "hah!" before the last chorus.
Polly Jean Harvey, effortlessly cool, what an artist.
He should not be hid
He's just too big
In a cloud please come down
I'd put stars at your feet
Put Mars in your head
Show yourself to me
And I'd believe
I'd moan and I'd weep
Fall silent at your speak
I'd burst in
Full to the brim
Mary lost her head
And let it bleed
Came crying back to me
"My son where's he hid?
Don't deny it
And don't you hide him"
[Chorus]
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
[Verse 2]
No words
No sign
Mary say
"I'm not lying"
How come he's so big
But good lord he's been hid
Good lord where you hid?
Ha!
[Chorus]
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
No I've missed him
she's so simplistic, yet so complex
PJ sings with such honesty and encryption that she completely explains to me as a man how all women work on a singular vibration.
What
@@hojosconsal9913i’m crying like what even..
PJ live on stage is perfection.
just brilliant. I'm out of words.
This one gives me the strength to carry on and just fucking go for it. Peace.
One of the great songs of religious doubt, performed beautifully.
It also makes me think of my lost baby my child
@@tinapuleo5279 so sorry for your loss, trust in the music to see you through it all

Qué hermoso tema. Qué grosa esta mina.
Sale del alma ese dolor y aún se siente. Respeto absoluto a PJ
My favourite PJ song ❤️
je pleure, c'est très beau
Oh yes
Beautiful song, wish i was there.
there was a lot of good bands at that festival
beautiful bass guitars.
Ms. Harvey is looking as succulent as ever here. Great performance too.
BombAtomica💥
very true song.
That slide guitar makes me moan and weep
Yeah!!
And 'Memphis' is clearly Polly Jean's tribute to Jeff Buckley.
LOL that's hilarious
ALL women should be preferred as natural and not adhere so innocuously to the 'polished' mainstream-but wild ,free, abhorrently magnificent as SHE is.
Does anyone have the rest of this concert as mentioned by kikikiokioli. if so please post them

She needs to get those vocal chords insured. xx
Chino brought me here
pitschn' lol me too!
Did he mention it

Anyways, this song is probably my favorite off Rid Of Me :)
One sultry chickadee.
Her song about me
but we still get the fukk " u " here in the colonies ... and the PJ of the harvey ....ha ...
How do you interpret that?
+
how she can sing that good live? that is unnatural.. her voice is maybe better than on studio record!
Her voice live is truly fucking incredible .
@anodreams Also, have I ever mentioned how rank I think Amos's voice is? It is so flimsy and affected. Especially the way she ennunciates words! Good God!
no you are...infinity! little kid
she have a perfect skin:).lovely woman!
this may have been dedicated to jeff buckley at this concert but the song came out on rid of me in 93 i think and jeff buckley died in 97
Is that John Parish on bass?
I would marry her
PJ Harvey HOTT!! also..nice hair
yes, that's him
I want to marry her!

Not always, no.
why is charlie sheen up there?
i dont usually listen to "chick shit" but shes got really raw emotions in her lyrics and tone. Love this song.
If you’re not into chick shit, you could just trip out on her killer guitar tones and playing and odd time signatures in her dynamic songs
i prefer her normal hair..curly with a ponytail -.-
your religious connotation proves to be a tenuous interpretation.
It’s 100% about atheism/agnosticism.
Nooh! I don´t believe you. She´s is not that kind of girl. Are you really boring, why is that?
P.J. is a Queen.
Slightly terrified of the hair.
That's her "I'm sick of indie kids hitting on me every fucking night." haircut.
Sinead O'Connor sounded similar in lion and the cobra way back in 87
What are you talking about? That song sounds totally different from this one.
Did anyone know this song is PJ's tribute to Jeff Buckley?
domestic violence
she looks a bit like Scarlett Johansson ..
You mean SJ looks like PJ.
