    Hello - I would love to see more of these reviews specifically for higher drop 8mm+ shoes. Some of us with Achilles issues cannot run in lower drop shoes but would like lightweight tempo and race day shoes also. Too many of the shoes made for this are in the 6mm range. It would be beneficial to see your views are higher drop shoes that can be used for this.

      @dominiquehernando9014 Před rokem

      @@MrMars121My personal opinion? Nimbus 25 is definitely more cushy, but Clifton 9 has a little more pop. You feel the sinking sensation on every stride on the Nimbus and it really feels good on your easy days. The Clifton is also pretty soft, but it doesn't give you that sinking sensation. It's a little more springy. For Lifestyle use? The Hoka is more fluid on every step. To me the Nimbus feels kind of... flat. Yes it's softer, like walking on marshmallows, but it doesn't give me a smooth step transition. It's probably different for each user, but for me, it's smoother than the Nimbus.

      Daily Trainer is a jack of all trades that you can use for anything you'd want to do. Max Cushion is a set of super chunky shoes that have a ton of foam, and can be used for specific things such as a recovery or race day or workouts or maybe as a daily trainer. Recovery shoes tend to be like max cushion shoes, but don't tend to do as well at faster paces due to instability or other factors

    Hello Everyone!
    I need help picking a shoe… I am a neutral, road runner. Sometimes I run around 7 miles; sometimes 3. I prefer to pep it up when my body allows. So super plush is probably not sky my cup of tea. However, some days I’m just trying to get in my miles bc my body is tired. I don’t have a training schedule and I don’t compete in any races; maybe someday, but for now, I run for myself and I run pretty much every single day. Also, I am 5’3” and 115-120 pounds if that matters any at all in choosing my shoe.
    Shoes I’ve tried:
    Saucony Triumph 18 - hated at first d/t bulkiness, but I did start liking them a lot better after some miles… def not my favorite and when they got wet, they stayed wet for days.
    Saucony Speed 2 - loved the look and material was so much thinner(better), but my ankles rolled way too easily. I ended up wearing these to work.
    Saucony Endorphin Pro 2 - so far, these have been pretty decent. My foot could possibly roll in these when I hit gravel, which happens from my driveway to the road and a few other places. Luckily, my ankles don’t seem to sprain when they roll. Even when I played basketball in high school, they didn’t really ever sprain; I can only remember once and that was bc it was stepped on when it rolled.
    Brooks Ghost - have had several of these and no problems, but they’ve never been super special really. My 14’s did seem a little too wide in the forefoot.
    Brooks Glycerin 18 - I actually liked these quite a bit, but it seems all newer versions have become so much wider. I don’t want a super wide shoe. The aesthetic does matter to me bc I usually transition my running shoes into my casual or work shoes at some point.
    Brooks Levitate - can’t remember the model, but they were ok.
    Anyway, if anyone took the time to read this long-ass monster of a comment, do you have any suggestions? I’d be very appreciative as I just can’t make up my mind…

    If your in the DMV you pretty much HAVE to have at least one pair of 990s. The V6 is the lightest version and great to walk around in. Agree with the Nimbus 25 as such a great max Cush daily trainer. I need to run a race in the Vaporfly3 but I still have at least one more race left in the Vaporfly2

    This is a long one! Hope you enjoy. Side note: we recorded this a couple weeks ago but since then have received a couple shoes that deserve consideration, namely the Adidas Boston 12 for the super trainer category and the On Cloudboom Echo 3 for the race day category. Additionally, we didn't include trail on here, but our top three picks for trail so far this year are: Hoka Tecton X 2, Saucony Endorphin Rift, and The North Face Vectiv Pro.
    Leave any questions in the comments and we'll do our best to respond!

    This is probably a very simple question, but what is the significance of the drop? I.e. is a larger drop good? Or is a bigger drop better for certain running styles?

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  Před 10 měsíci

      Some people like to feel pitched forward, some like a “natural” feel of zero drop. Higher drops take pressure off the Achilles, but midfoot to forefoot runners can feel like the heel interrupts their natural stride. There is no right and wrong. It is just what works for the individual.
