It's disapointing that JCC jr. said Martinez is good but nothing special. Give the guy the respect he deserves. he beat you up for the majority of the fight and had the guts to get up and win the fight. This says everything I need to know about JCC Jr.

Martinez got an excellent fight, experience, strategy and because he likes to fight he just made a mistake at the 12th round, never the less after the knock down he got back full steam and continued connecting good punches, that is a real champion !!, well done Sergio.

I do agree Floyd might not have the ko strength but can Martinez hit him as much. They're both great technical fighters and have crazy endurance butI think Floyd might have the upper hand. I also dont call it running. He does the same Martinez does "Box". But it would def. be a exciting fight to see. If its gonna happen its gotta happen now

That is what a champ is supposed to say. But not a lucky punch, Maravilla just relaxed on his defense for a bit. Great thing he survived it because there would have been plenty of haters out there.

Finally Justice was served! Chavez is an unskilled, Light Heavyweight masquerading as a middleweight whom was a beneficiary of a massive HYPE JOB. a good minute & half in the whole fight does not deserve a rematch!!! Great Showing for sergio. Chavez's face tells the story.

One round won doesn't mean he deserve a rematch. He got DOMINATED for 11 rounds. If you have watched any of martinez previews fights, some of those fighters have a better shot at a rematch. Martinez has been dropped on previews fights, (mackling & Pavlic) and he came back and won those fights. Those fights were actually closer and not as one sided.

It's a shame that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr lacks work ethic and dedication, I think he has only relied on his talent and name. He's still young and can bounce back and be champion again but he has to change his training regiment and get focused more on his fight game. He tested positive for Marijuana what a fool, if i was 46-0, making millions $ and world champion i would be training in the mountains not smoking weed.

Agree..Martinez outclassed, outlanded..outboxed ..outclassed a younger way heavier chavez who even refused to get in the scale before the fight. Had Martinez lost the way chavez did would he get a rematch????? Move on to better fights..Martinez deserves the win and chavez needs to go back to finding stationery opponents.

chavez martinez rematch is not needed. martinez is a very light middleweight. chavez weighs in at light heavyweight on the fight. martinez only struggled neared the end due to size if the both weighed 160 martinez would have knocked him out. i love both fighters. martinez skilled,humble, respectful. chavez the same. i understand he was given his belt but he is a nice guy. its people around him not himself taking the easy route. he has shown that like his father shit boxer amazing warrior.
I should not have said that Martinez has no chance against Mayweather. He does stand a chance against floyd but it is minimal. Still, i would be very happy to see floyd lose.

I didn't get to see this fight, bet it was good. In my opinion Andre Ward vs Sergio Martinez should be next. Martinez move up to 168lbs and try to unify the titles, both fighters are in the top ten p4p rankings why not.

sergio still isnt a house hold name and felt he had to go all out even in the last round of a shut out to assure he didnt get cheated again. a higher profile fighter would have felt comfortable enough to coast the last round or two and pick his spots if they were there.

Martinez, he knocked him down. K.O. stands for "Knock Out". Martinez was the better fighter last night and that's all there is to it.

Not really, Sergio wasn't as experienced then, and you can't really trust any Margarito fight after the mosley fight since the whole handwraps issue, if they were to fight now Margarito would get his ass handed to him. Margarito and Chavez are both pressure fighters and fight very similar and i believe Julio is the better of the two, Martinez beats both now.
