Most of the hate for Jeremiah comes from what he does to Belly in the third book. To quite miss Tyra Banks “We were rooting for you!” Until how he majorly screws up. The both have there issues but what Jere does is unforgivable in the eyes of many girls/women.
Exactly so many of the reactors I’ve seen react to this only like Conrad and whenever Jeremiah is there they hate him but he’s not doing anything really like he’s hurting because his mum is gone and his best friend wasn’t there for him. i will defend conrad to the death in terms of prom night (show version). he did NOT break up with her. listen to the dialogue and delivery closely (they were so smart to do it this deliberately) but she mentions breaking up and he starts to fight it. it isn’t until he sees her crying with steven that he leaves and i think that visual added on to the “i fucked up another thing for her” I think he just needed a quiet space and was overwhelmed at prom and it wasn’t communicated well.
As a Conrad hater...he did not do anything wrong, Belly breaking up with him was completely uncalled for. I hate to say this but this time he wasnt the one who messed up

Also it likely wasn't even just that night bc Conrad has a tendency to pull away a lot. Not to mention the relationship is long distance so not like she sees him all the time.
Conrad was definitely in the wrong. As Belly mentions earlier in the episode she’s been losing him for some time, we don’t see every moment of their relationship but it’s not hard to infer that Belly has been trying so hard with Conrad and he’s just not opening up and connecting with her anymore. It can be incredibly exhausting to love someone who is so closed off emotionally. I think Belly was tired of constantly fighting for what they have when he wasn’t doing the same, even with the context of Susannah. Conrad wasn’t wrong, he was disappointing her over and over again. It wasn’t healthy for either of them.
I like that this season is split between the current summer, with the characters mourning Susannah's passing, and the past. It's great to see the juxtaposition between the two timelines.

This season made me team cam Cameron, I hate how everyone was hating on belly. Everybody relies on belly so much and blames her for everything. Jeremiah getting mad at her for not being there for him but refusing to talk to her so she couldn’t help him. Steven blaming her for Conrad and Jeremiah not coming to his party, which by the way was not her fault she tried to make peace with them. And it’s ironic to me that Steven is talking about her being selfish for being with both of them when he literally cheated. She did her best supporting Conrad he just was not in a good place. And Jeremiah had the right to be mad at her, but at the time was he actually surprised like evryone knows belly always liked Conrad.
Belly was kind of terrible for making a scene at funeral i hated that also if my mom is dying prom would be least of my priority like Conrad was not feeling it it's fine i would think she would just go with someone else like a friend or don't go at all

The prom night scene was more Belly breaking up with Conrad. As for the funeral scene I remember in the books belly saying the looking on Conrad’s face when she tells Conrad to go to hell was heartbreaking. I do love Belly but a lot of times she is a little self-centered. The funeral scene was just hurt people hurting each other.
Hot take: Books with love triangles shouldn’t be adapted into tv shows or movies, lowkey. The main attracter of love triangles is the “who will she/he chose?”, the “will they/won’t they” aspect of it. All of that is squandered when we already know the outcome bc of the books. For ex: Jellyfishers can’t say anything without Bonrad shippers bringing up the books. Whereas in a show like XO, Kitty, there is actually possibility on who she might might end up with
I agree with this! The magic gets lost because we already know the ending. And if they change the ending of the show for a shock factor, they’d be disappointing all true fans of the book. Jeremiah needs to grow up?!? Are Jeremiah and Belly not best friends and when someone's loved one dies wouldn't you normally want your best friend around even if you had been fighting or going through a rough patch. I also feel like at this point people are forgetting that Jeremiah is going through the same thing as Conrad in terms of losing their mom. Sure in season 1 Conrad was the only one that knew about the cancer but now they are both going through the death of Susannah. I feel like it's really unfair for people to give Conrad a break and not give Jeremiah one. And in my mind, it would be harder for Jeremiah because he not only had less time than Conrad to process the fact that their mom had cancer, but he also didn't have anyone to go through it with because Conrad and Belly were so involved with each other.

Me personally I like Conrad and Jeremiah both as characters but like I never understand why everyone hates on Jeremiah but when Conrad does something bad no one says anything. They both done things that aren’t the best.

Most of the hate for Jeremiah comes from what he does to Belly in the third book. To quite miss Tyra Banks “We were rooting for you!” Until how he majorly screws up. The both have there issues but what Jere does is unforgivable in the eyes of many girls/women.

Exactly so many of the reactors I’ve seen react to this only like Conrad and whenever Jeremiah is there they hate him but he’s not doing anything really like he’s hurting because his mum is gone and his best friend wasn’t there for him. AND that same best friend hooked up with his brother after getting with him. Like that absolutely sucks and the fact no one is seeing it is insane to me. Like I get people are Conrad lovers but you can love someone and be level headed at the same time and see what’s right and wrong in situations like geez
i will defend conrad to the death in terms of prom night (show version). he did NOT break up with her. listen to the dialogue and delivery closely (they were so smart to do it this deliberately) but she mentions breaking up and he starts to fight it. it isn’t until he sees her crying with steven that he leaves and i think that visual added on to the “i fucked up another thing for her” I think he just needed a quiet space and was overwhelmed at prom and it wasn’t communicated well.
As a Conrad hater...he did not do anything wrong, Belly breaking up with him was completely uncalled for. I hate to say this but this time he wasnt the one who messed up

Also it likely wasn't even just that night bc Conrad has a tendency to pull away a lot. Not to mention the relationship is long distance so not like she sees him all the time.
Conrad was definitely in the wrong. As Belly mentions earlier in the episode she’s been losing him for some time, we don’t see every moment of their relationship but it’s not hard to infer that Belly has been trying so hard with Conrad and he’s just not opening up and connecting with her anymore. It can be incredibly exhausting to love someone who is so closed off emotionally. I think Belly was tired of constantly fighting for what they have when he wasn’t doing the same, even with the context of Susannah. Conrad wasn’t wrong, he was disappointing her over and over again. It wasn’t healthy for either of them.
I like that this season is split between the current summer, with the characters mourning Susannah's passing, and the past. It's great to see the juxtaposition between the two timelines.

This season made me team cam Cameron, I hate how everyone was hating on belly. Everybody relies on belly so much and blames her for everything. Jeremiah getting mad at her for not being there for him but refusing to talk to her so she couldn’t help him. Steven blaming her for Conrad and Jeremiah not coming to his party, which by the way was not her fault she tried to make peace with them. And it’s ironic to me that Steven is talking about her being selfish for being with both of them when he literally cheated. She did her best supporting Conrad he just was not in a good place. And Jeremiah had the right to be mad at her, but at the time was he actually surprised like evryone knows belly always liked Conrad.
Belly was kind of terrible for making a scene at funeral i hated that also if my mom is dying prom would be least of my priority like Conrad was not feeling it it's fine i would think she would just go with someone else like a friend or don't go at all

The prom night scene was more Belly breaking up with Conrad. As for the funeral scene I remember in the books belly saying the looking on Conrad’s face when she tells Conrad to go to hell was heartbreaking.
I do love Belly but a lot of times she is a little self-centered. The funeral scene was just hurt people hurting each other.
Hot take: Books with love triangles shouldn’t be adapted into tv shows or movies, lowkey. The main attracter of love triangles is the “who will she/he chose?”, the “will they/won’t they” aspect of it. All of that is squandered when we already know the outcome bc of the books. For ex: Jellyfishers can’t say anything without Bonrad shippers bringing up the books. Whereas in a show like XO, Kitty, there is actually possibility on who she might might end up with

Jeremiah needs to grow up?!? Are Jeremiah and Belly not best friends and when someone's loved one dies wouldn't you normally want your best friend around even if you had been fighting or going through a rough patch. I also feel like at this point people are forgetting that Jeremiah is going through the same thing as Conrad in terms of losing their mom. Sure in season 1 Conrad was the only one that knew about the cancer but now they are both going through the death of Susannah. Like first of all he literally purposefully pursued her both after ruining her and Conrad's first almost kiss, he knew she always liked him, AND her and Jeremiah's first kiss was right after she broke up with Cam?? He was ALWAYS a rebound and he knew it when he made his move so why tf is he using that against her later?!! AND him saying she left him after his mom died when he needed her?? WHEN HE GOT MAD AND PUSHED HER AWAY FIRST?? like what was she supposed to do besides give him space thAT HE ASKED FOR?
if u watched the scene, belly tells jere she wasn’t sad she broke up with cam. and then when jere confessed to belly he made sure to ask her “do you think you could ever?” as in, do u think the feelings could be mutual. belly said “yes” and they kissed. so from then on he probs thought she reciprocated completely. so it shouldn’t be a shocker that jere was upset she went back to conrad after cause he didn’t think he was a rebound. and realizing that he was would be hurtful to anybody

i’m sorry but i have to disagree if u really pay attention to the funeral n prom scene. in the prom scene he never broke up with her ever she was the one who decided the whole break up conrad on other hand was talking about the situation with his mother’s death , etc that’s what he’s talking about dude he even expressed that he didn’t wanna worry belly or ruin her prom n day with his emotions n also overall in other words he didn’t wanna be a burden to her u know n that he just wants to leave after the prom but she doesn’t understand that n then she assume that they were over n also she thought he was scared to tell her that they want to breakup. also she put the blame on conrad for the breakup. in which Conrad never wanted that in the first place that’s why he looked confused n said say what to her . he was trying to tell her that he never want to break up with belly in that case belly is the one who broke up with Conrad .
