Bean retired in 2016 with one of greatest performances we’ve seen. What has changed in the past 4-7 years that makes Kobe not in the discussion?

How many years did he play with those players and what quality/how good was that player. Were they in their prime years or just along for the ride as a role player for a chip. You see now. Like we can say that MJ played with only Pippen. However, he played with Pippen for 10 YEARS OVERLAPPING THEIR PRIMES. like we get it, LBJ played with good players but ffs, he didn’t get 10 years of prime wade or prime Irving, etc. get my point? Give context please don’t just say ish to diminish or paint a false narrative. That’s manipulation. Give LBJ 8 seasons of prime Shaq like Kobe had. That 3/4 year period where the media and sponsors didn't f with him would have been a completely different discussion had that never happened. He probably does beat out Nash for the MVP. He probably doesn't get more help instead of the absolutely garbage that he had.

He averaged 28, 25 & 30 during the regular seasons the years they 3 peat, that’s not someone riding coat tails or being carried. In the playoffs he averaged 21, 29 & 26 next to Shaq
Bron went and teamed up with the 2nd best SG in the league at the time and one of the best PF in bosh. And still barely won 2 after all the hype. That’s like prime Kobe leaving to team up with prime T Mac, Vince Carter & KG or something. Bron never won with only one all star. Kyrie & K Love were also all stars

If you're going to comment on a topic that you clearly don't know about, at least do some research first. Jordan never missed the playoffs
as a member of the Bulls. And the Bulls were already playing in the Eastern conference Finals the year before Phil Jackson took over as head
coach. Phil helped Jordan get past the Pistons and helped him to win titles. But Jordan had the Bulls on the precipice of greatness before Phil
took over as head coach. And even if your statement was true, that argument doesn't even make sense. Because Jordan was the one with the
decorated basketball resume from college to the NBA. By the time Phil arrived, the only thing left for Jordan to win as a basketball player was a
title and a finals MVP. Jordan had quite literally accomplished everything else. Phil on the other hand, built his legacy coaching MJ. Just as Scottie
Pippen built his legacy playing with Jordan. Before Jordan, neither Phil nor Pippen had a basketball resume to speak of. With Jordan, Pippen
became a top 75 all time player. Without Jordan, the casual fan wouldn't know who Pippen was. Without Pippen, Jordan is still a top 75 all time
player, but with possibly fewer rings.

I have Kobe #2 on my list.
    • Beat the most 50+ win teams in NBA history
    • Second most points scored in a single game NBA history, First most in the modern era.
    • Oldest player to score 60+
    • 3rd most consecutive 50+ point games in NBA history
    • 2nd most All-NBA First Team honors won (tied with Malone)
    • Most All-NBA Team honors won by a guard
    • Most All-NBA First Team honors won by a guard
    • 2nd most All-Defensive Team honors won
    • Most All-Defensive First Team honors won (tied with Mike, GP, KG)
    • Only player in NBA history to score at least 600 points in the postseason for three consecutive years
    • Oldest player to record back-to-back games of 40+ points and 10+ assists
    • Carried Olympic team to a gold medal
    • 5x NBA Champion on a three-peat
    • Dragged a squad with no other superstar/top 75 to repeat
    • 2x Finals MVP
    • 1x MVP
    • 2x Scoring Champ
    • 9x All-Defense First
    • 3x All-NBA Second
    • 18x NBA All Star
Kobe is also 1 of only 6 players to win back-to-back Finals MVP (2peat). Kobe did this in one of the most competitive conference in history.
He was also the 1A/1B option on the most recent 3peat team (only five 3peats in NBA history).
4th in scoring all time, 16th in steals, 33rd in assists, 115th in rebounds.
Lead the 2000's with the most points scored in the decade and the highest scoring average of the decade.
Lead the decade in all-star selections, all-nba selections, all-nba defensive selections.
    Made 6 finals, won 4.
He also had 10 50 point games in the 2006-2007 season alone. He also scored 60-50-65-50 in consecutive games.
In 2003 he scored 40+ in 9 straight games. Outscored the Dallas Mavericks 62-61 by himself after 3 quarters, sat the 4th; he was easily on his way to 80 that game. Didn't matter, he hit 80 soon after.
He did all that and scored 35.1ppg on a team that only averaged 96ppg a game as a team and he did so in the slowest paced era and lowest scoring era in league history.
Furthermore, he famously played through injuries to his own detriment which meant many of his scoring feats were done while injured. He won an NBA title and won FMVP with a broken finger taped to the opposing finger on his shooting hand. He also took on the opposing teams best player as often as he could on defense which is probably why many people think he wasn't as good defensively as he actually was.
Simply the greatest difficult shot taker and maker in NBA history which makes the fact that virtually every year of his prime he shot above league average even more remarkable.
He would have rewritten the modern scoring record books if he had the freedom on offense current players enjoy.

On Kobe's list it said 2 olympic gold right? 2008 and 2012, Kobe is undefeated in world competition. Lebron has a 2004 olympic bronze medal, and a 2006 world games bronze medal. Kobe is the reason for Lebron winning any true world basketball gold. Without Kobe he Lebron has never won a gold medal. That puts Kobe in front of Lebron in the goat convo. How can you be the best ever, when you never led your country to gold as the dominant leader?

So Kobe had Shaq and Gasol. Lebron had D.Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving Kevin love Anthony Davis all all-stars two hall of famers maybe 3 more to come. But that's not where it ends. MJ had Scottie and Rodman two of the best defenders ever both lock down one the best rebounder maybe ever both hall of famers. Mike wasn't getting out of the first round without scottie he was getting swept. Also had Tony and Horace grant both All-stars and fun fact Steve Kerr (who he fought nobody talk about that) who is the all time leader is 3pt %. So now let's ask the question who had the most/least help?
