Who is your favorite side character in these Mission Impossible movies? Mine is Henry Cavill!
My man Luther is the GOAT.
That arm reload is phenomenal
Henry Cavill great performance in this film👍👍👍👍
Benji all the way.
Same. Because he's hot.🤷♀It's the only reason why I went to see this movie in theaters, I wasn't a fan of Mission Impossible before that...too many forced watchings of the second movie when I was in my early teens, my dad had a short list of movies he always insisted on when it was supposedly my turn to pick a movie for movie nights...and then I saw this one and went back and watched four and five, now thanks to you guys, I'm trying to watch the whole series in order. Struggling to push through number two again, though...
I love the line when Julia asks Luther how Ethan is, and Luther just says "oh you know, same old Ethan." Because when you see everything else that happened before, you realize just how true that statement is.
What I love most about this franchise is not necessarily the action. It's those impossible moments when you think there's no way out and Ethan has to think outside of the box to solve what seems like an unsolvable problem. It's what gives the franchise its name.
AGREED!
I freaking love this movie. Lane is such a good villain but the best thing about this is getting to see all the characters' interactions. They are an amazing team.
Could you watch Hunter X Hunter?
Mission: Impossible - Fallout is one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen. The thing I love the most about this franchise is that it tries to use as many practical effects as possible instead of relying on CGI. Tom Cruise always does his own stunts. Here, we seen him jump out of a plane, climb under a flying helicopter, and other crazy stuff. I’m starting to think this guy isn’t human.
Not to mention actually piloting the helicopter.
While Chris McQuarrie & Tom Cruise prefer practical stunts, there is CGI all over this film, just as there is in most films today. Gunshots are added, explosions are enhanced, & car chases are made 100 times more thrilling because every near miss someone has in a car or on a motorcycle is with a CGI creation - Tom may do his own stunts but that doesn't mean he has a deathwish. People need to get over this ridiculous idea that CGI is somehow a crutch only used by less talented filmmakers - talented filmmakers know when to use CGI and when to go practical. CGI makes most films better but it never gets credit for that because it has gotten so good at this point that most viewers can't even tell when it's used.
@@Timmayytooso true. CGI gets a bad rep nowadays, and people seem to overstate the superiority of practical effects; yet, as you said, modern movies are unthinkable without CGI, action movies more so than most. Heck, one of the few good things I heard about the most recent Jurassic World movie was that the dinos looked better than they ever have since the first, and are arguably on equal terms or even superior.
Practical effects do make for good effects and great stories. However, the demonizing of CGI is absolutely ridiculous, and I’m hoping it’s a phase the community will eventually grow out of
@@Timmayytoo i get ur point but the complaint with CGI is not solely on its presence in a movie but the over use of it. Like creating entire action pieces out of CGI, some productions never even step out of the studio to shoot outside scenes and leave it all to CGI. That is the problem.
That's where these Mission Impossible movies outshine. They are, at the scale of action they are operating, the least CGI present movies today; relatively. And that is praise-worthy by itself.
P.S: enhancing explosions and gunshots etc. are not technically CGI, they are visual effects. Basically touch-ups on existing reel footage rather than non-existing Computer Generated Imagery.
@@jordinagel1184 have to disagree my friend.
In a non-superhero action movie, there is no overstating the superiority of practical action sequences.
They are 100% superior. Period
I love that the White Widow and her brother are Max’s kids! It’s so cool to have little connections like that in a franchise so big!
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Is another spy type movie with Henry Cavill
I was at CinemaCon when Tom Cruise and the director explained the skydiving scene. It was done hundreds of times over several weeks to get the four or five usable takes that they constructed the scene from. The main issue was the poor cameraman who had to be at the right place at the right time with no viewfinder to see if he had the proper shot. He also had to stay within a distance range to keep the picture in focus. The jump was shot over a desert in the Middle East, not over Paris.
Cavill’s facial hair was worth the price of admission alone.
Don't let the Superman fans hear you say that. ;)
@@mycroft16 - I think most agreed the mustache was worth it over Whedon's Justice League either way.
100 percent!
…and yes, Tom Cruise is ACTUALLY flying the helicopter.
What a legend
If you guys feel like it, you should watch the commentary with Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise. One part I love is when they're watching the scene where Ethan has to wedge the truck into the alley, they both start cackling about the fact that when Cavill kicked the windshield, it went flying down the alleyway, and they teased him about 'toning it down, Superman' so it would look like they had to work to get it out of the frame of the truck.
Where can I watch it with commentary?
@@shreyashkankar2841 I'm not sure, I bought it on Apple TV and it came with the bonus features like commentaries.
i love that in every interview tom cruise was just obsessed with cavill's hand reload 😊
The intro showing what's going to happen in flashes during the movie is a carryover from the TV show in the 60s. Each episode started with short clips of the episode to give you a taste of things to come.
That’s cool
@@whitenoisereacts I can't recommend that series enough. It's not action-oriented like the movies, but rather spy stuff and intrigue, but it's worth checking out, especially the early seasons, say 2-3.
People who say they CAN'T watch the mission impossible franchise because they dislike Tom Cruise and his ideologies need to get a grip and learn to separate the art from the artist. I have no opinion on Tom Cruise as a human being other than maybe his ideals and beliefs are a bit strange, however him as an ACTOR is absolutely incredible and this franchise does wonders in displaying that fact. Mission Impossible is by far the best action film franchise of all time whether you like Tom Cruise or not.
Easily one of the best Mission Impossible films In years and can’t wait to see Mission Impossible 7 and 8 coming out this year and 2024, so looking forward to your reactions to those films once you get to them.
Finally, I’m also surprised and grateful that Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Ilsa Faust returns in _Fallout_ because usually in every _Mission Impossible_ film installment up until _Rogue Nation_ Ethan Hunt had a different female member working him in each film. The first film had Emmanuelle Béart (Claire), the 2nd had Thandiwe Newton (Nyah), the third film had Maggie Q (Zhen Li) and the fourth film had Paula Patton (Jane Carter). I guess the director Ralph McQuarrie loved Rebeca Ferguson’s portrayal so much that they decided to bring her back in the next three films after _Rogue Nation._
I am soo happy about that.
I am really excited and hoping to see some romance between Ethan and Ilsa. Both their characters deserve some happiness and their chemistry has been sensational ever since she came on scene. ❤️
@@shakira.rahman8786 Yes OH MY GOODNESS. I hope they didn't pull a cliché of "male spy agent is stuck forever in his job because of his super selflessness and the only way out is death or just tragedy or just loneliness" ugh i hate that. Just give Ethan Hunt some break and give him a happy ending he's been through so much. 😭 well, THEY BOTH have been through so much. Make Ethan Hunt want his own happiness with Ilsa please. Make Ilsa make him want to retire and finally get some rest lol. In Rogue Nation he was tempted to go with her ("come away with me") right so it's definitely super plausible.
She mentioned Max, the arms dealer from Job 314
Nobu was so invested in this movie. I swear he almost stroked out like 20+ times. 🤣 Feel better dude!
Thanks for another entertaining reaction guys!
The Mission Impossible movies are so good that I will accept and understand a person picking ANY movie (aside from 2 lol) being their favourite. Each movie has a different vibe to it and they're so WELL DONE.
So crazy how everything from Ghost Protocol till now is all continuous. While Mission Impossible 1-3 we're all separate missions.
Ghost protocol is to me still the best, most complete action masterpiece of recent times.
Changed the entire standard of spy action-thriller movies.
Luther's line to Ilsa about Ethan is one of my favorite moments in this movie. I think it just came out of nowhere.
Whose Arthur?
This one is definitely my favourite of the whole franchise. Christopher McQuarrie, who has directed the 5th, 6th and the next two movies, is the great fit for the series and truly makes you feel like it's one continuous story.
My favorite fact about the helicopter scene is that Christopher said that the camera man would've been seen in there, so Tom had to direct cameras himself, while flying an actual helicopter and acting at the same time. Absolutely mad lad!! Can't wait for the 7th movie!
guys help me we have to gather enouph comments to convince this duo to start to react to the fast saga movies next week with the fast and the furious from 2001 please guys there will be a blast for them specially moving forward
I love how the fake set was a callback to the first movie.
I always watch this movie mainly for Cavills punch-reload.
Yes, Tom Cruise really did a HALO jump
"IMF is unmatched... completely." And somehow they manage to make this feel legitimately possible. Nothing feels so far fetched or made up that it pulls you out. That, to me, is the absolutely best part of MI. They have gone out of their way to make it feel real and possible and I love them for that.
Henry Cavill's infamous mustache! Lol!!
Henry is amazing. He doesn't get the credit he deserves for his roles.
i love how the biggest gag of Joss Whedon's justice league was the bad CGI used to cover up Henry Cavill's mustache. But this movie uses the mustache to promo the film. like MOST of the posters for this are a silhoette of Cavill with a mustache over. or a minimalist landscape Poster with the mustache photoshopped into it for IMAX
That’s genius
Maybe you didn't realize it but Tom Cruise also pilots the helicopter, look the behind the scenes, incredible how he dominates that helicopter, there is no trick, no hidden pilot next to him, no CGI, it is Tom Cruise who pilots the helicopter by himself, with no one else there, in the final scenes.
More Tom Cruise I would recommend: "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Jack Reacher."
EDGE OF TOMORROW PLEASE YES. Also, A Few Good Men please! He's excellent in that movie!!!!!
I concur most definitely.
2 of Cruise's best.
The great McQuarrie in the mix of both.
I always remember Simon Pegg saying that him and Rebecca were watching the helicopter stunt for the Kashmir bit and Simon didn't know that part of the stunt was Tom dropping so he absolutely freaked out 🤣 I do think Rogue Nation is the best MI film but Fallout is certainly excellent. Great reaction!
Oh wow!!! That’s insane
When I think of Mission impossible I always think of Tom Cruise running haha🏃🏻
Can’t wait for Mi-7
This has to be the best action movie ever, I never get tired of watching!
What MI Fallout has is that it looks bigger and more spectacular than the previous ones, it gives the impression at times that Nolan had filmed it and brings back memories of the persecutions of The Dark Knight, in addition to the change in the composer of the soundtrack, it made this movie go up more points, Lorne Balfe comes from the school of Hans Zimmer, in fact Tom Cruise summons Lorne Balfe again as producer of the music for Top Gun Maverick, having loved his work on Fallout.
"We're in the worst car ever" UM EXCUSE ME SIR THAT'S CLASSIC BMW M5 - that's a fantastic car
i love how all of these movies feel like books that are advancing the overall story of the characters, you feel like the world is lived in and the characters have evolved and earned the connections they have with eachother.
Cant wait for the new movie
The one thing that makes me rank this below the fifth movie is that I knew from the start that Cavill was a traitor - I don’t know if it was the mustache or what, but I just knew. So it was less shocking, just for that
I don't know if you caught it but the broker woman is the daughter of Max from the first Mission Impossible (she was the one arranging to get the nock list from Job).
Oh nice
I've actually trekked to and visited the cliff where they shot the final battle! It's The Preikestolen cliff in Forsand Municipality, Norway. It is a BEAUTIFUL place. And probably my first time visiting a big movie filming location. Even got to sit AT the cliff and everything. It was quite cool and wanting to take a picture there def motivated me for the LONG hike up, through VERY rocky terrain.
Discovered your channel through these Mission Impossible reactions. This is hands down the best action series going right now. It amazingly somehow keeps getting better and better with each sequel (2 is the only outlier. The less said about 2 the better lol). I can’t decide if this one or Rogue Nation is my favorite. They’re both incredible.
These movies are just so well constructed.
tom cruise learned how to fly a helicopter properly, so that he could safely look like he didn't know how to fly one
1:20 Who doesn't love Henry Cavill on any channel? 😂
15:41 Also, I was hoping you'd include the iconic "reloading arms"! 🤣
This is very true
As per your guys' point about the intros continuing to show stuff from the movie itself, and that it feels like an old "spy show"...... "Mission: Impossible" WAS an old spy show from the 60s lol. And yes, during the show's opening credits, they would show scenes from its specific episode. The title sequences from the first movie, and every movie since the fourth one, all maintain the same motif of showing scenes from the movies, as an homage to the original TV show.
btw boys can i just say, I absolutely love this channel and have been EXTRA pumped since you guys started reacting to this franchise!! Love you guys!!!!!!
Thanks so much my man
@@whitenoisereacts Anytime! will always tune in to you guys. You pick up on things in movies most people dont that i notice so its very satisfying to see. White Noise Forever!!!
One of the greatest action movies, if not the greatest action movie, of recent times. I love Rebecca Ferguson in these sort of roles. She steals every scene that she is in.
At the end when it cut to white in the theaters I thought, “holy shit they weren’t able to stop the nukes in time😨”
i cannot describe the goofy smile on my face the entire time in this reaction. Missions Impossible never fail deliver, as does your channel. GOAT
Probably my favorite of the "Mission: Impossible" flicks, despite me absolutely loving almost the rest of the entries in the franchise. Can't wait for the two-part "Dead Reckoning" flicks to drop...
The Mission Impossible series is one of the few that streadily increases in quality. I'm not a Cruise fan, but I do enjoy these movies. You guys really need to react to the Red movies with Bruce Willis.
Mission impossible isn't my favorite movie but it without question is the best movie franchise in my opinion. It's just consistently good and gets better Everytime.
I know the action was incredible, choreography was top-notch cinematography was beautiful but yeah, Lorne Balfe's rousing & brilliant score elevates this movie very much. It's one of my favourite movie-scores. Great you pointed it out!
Been waiting for this one, top reactors out there
You should react to The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Starring Henry cavill, directed by guy ritchie very underated
Seconded. Really good movie.
my man says we are in the worst car ever! while Tom is driving a Legendary 88 BMW M5
The actress who plays Julia (his wife) also plays John Wick’s wife
You're confusing Michelle Monaghan (Julia) with Bridget Moynahan (Helen in John Wick). Similar looks, similar names, understandable.
Super fun thanks a lot!
Guys, you're uploading past my bedtime again😂. How do I get my nightly fix now? 😉
It's finally came out! Liked even before the video begins.
My big problem with Zack Snyder is that, in my personal opinion, he makes movie designed to have shots for trailers without a real identity of their own. This whole franchise has those juicy tailer shots (Lane inhaling in front of the wall of water, Ethan doing the spin on the motorcycle to find a way out, Henry Cavill cocking his arms to do more punching) but the rest of the movie is amazing as well.
Also, Alec Baldwin pulling a gun and saying "I think this one's loaded. Wanna find out?" Has aged super not well.
Your criticism is valid, but on the other hand, making IMF go rogue or disbanded is sort of the only tool they've got to raise the stakes and the tension, because if they didn't do it, then IMF would've had a lot more leeway and pretty much unlimited resources.
You make a good point about redundant plot device for the IMF movie series. The original tv series on the other hand would often rely on the missions being jeopardized due to tech failure, a blown cover or disguise. During the run of the original tv series no IMF agent on the primary team was ever killed or disavowed but on the 1988 Revival series only one agent was ever captured, killed and disavowed.
2:56 Lorne Balfe did the score. He did bring a very ominous and dark feeling to the score.
So Superman's weakness are; Kryptonite, Red sun radiation, Magic/Sorcery, and getting into a hand to hand combat with some Asian guy.
These movies are so great! After so many they’ve found a way to not be repetitive and boring. They’re action packed and have a great script overall.
really enjoyed you guys watching this series! since you mentioned brad pitt eating in his roles in movies, i thought i'd drop the ocean's 11,12,13 suggestion here hehe.
Lets gooooooooo!!!! Was waiting for this one lol!!
The biggest and best of the bunch.
Returning director Christopher Mcquarrie.
Every level raised to a major level.
In IMAX, it was a must to go see.
Henry Cavill as August Walker (wow).
Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow (hot).
Baldwin & Bassett as the bosses (hell yeah).
Early 2019; Cruise, Paramount and Skydance annouced back to back sequels.
One was for 2021 and another was for 2022.
The pandemic pushed back production and both were finished in 2022.
All done right before Top Gun:Maverick was released in theatres.
M-I:7 Dead Reckoning Part 1 is out 2023.
Part 2 could come out the same year or 2024.
I love the movie reactions guys and you’re doing an great job!! The person that did the music score of Mission Impossible: Fallout is Lorne Balfe! Fun Fact: He’s also an score producer for Top Gun Maverick with Harold Faltermeyer, Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer!! He’s one of my favorite music composers I watched movies & listen the music scores including Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler, and Michael Giacchino! Overall In Fallout, they all did fantastic job on the whole movie including The Legend that did both acting & the stunts Tom Cruise! I’m excited for the 7th and final 2 movies (Dead Reckoning PT 1 & PT2) to finish the franchise! Much love!
This franchise has gotten better as they go on. Cruise is a total mad lad!
have you guys ever seen the bourne movies? would love to see your reactions to those!
You missed a reference to the first Mission Impossible: Vanessa Kirby plays the daughter of Max, the now deceased arms dealer, using her iconic lines.
Am I the only one addicted to Lane's voice? Just me? Okay 😂
I had the opportunity to watch this in our theater and it was amazing 🤩
I'm a straight man, but I have to admit, henry cavil is probably the most good looking man I've ever seen.
Tom cruise did the chopper flying too
The opening mirrors the 60's show, in fact.
Thank you guys for reacting all Mission: Impossible films just excellent. This year in theaters the upcoming film Mission - Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 and next year 2024 Dead Reckoning Part 2
Yeah, the famous mustache...
Do a face off reaction i tink its a fun movie to watch
I think for me, it goes (from fave to least fave):
1. Fallout
2. Rogue Nation
3. Ghost Protocol (tbh GP is close to RN for me. I feel like I should put them both to 2nd place hahah)
4. MI 3
5. MI 1
6. MI 2
Just watched this again tonight as I’m seeing Dead Reckoning tomorrow night on IMAX - cannot wait! Love Rebecca Ferguson - can’t wait to see what her role will be in this one.
“Your mission……should you choose to accept it……”
❤
A detail you'll probably like: watch the final shot again just when it transitions to the end credits, the "burn" in the picture is the actual film running out while they were shooting the scene. :)
This one is my favorite of all MIs. Tom Cruise also flew the helicopter himself, which I think took the stunt level to a whole new level. I also hate that they killed off Secretary Hunley, Alec Baldwin really nailed that role. I can't wait for MI7 this summer, and of course Eugene Kittridge coming back and he seems like a possible antagonist, adding more thrill into the plot.
Alanna aka White Widow is a daughter of "Max" in the first Films.. CIA has always been working with Max family from last Scene in First Films till today's (she's will be in 7 & 8 film)..
You know the Mission Impossible movies feel like each one is a season of a show, condensed into a movie without any filler.
Unlike other franchises, every new MI movie seems to be better than the last. You guys are the best. Feels like I'm watching this with a bunch of my bros. Keep up the good work.
my only complain would be the absence of jeremy renner, i really liked his character
Yeah it sucks
for me the 3rd is still the best, and the 4th after.
17:30 Fun Fact: White Widow is talking about the same Max from the first movie. White Widow is Max’s daughter
You guys need to do a reaction to the stunt featurette they put out for the next one!
I'm so glad you've stuck with these films - we all said they get better 3-4 onwards lol
i then realized after i've been watching your reactions to MI series, that i really want to watch you guys react to daniel craig's 007 series too!
Mission Impossible 3 is the best of them all
One of my top 50 fav movies
I feel so bad for giggling at 38:59, if you know, you know.
YES, it's finally here!
I’d rank them like this
1. MI Rogue Nation
2. MI Fallout
3. MI3
4. MI Ghost Protocol
5. MI1
6. MI2
Knight and day is a very underrated Tom Cruise action comedy! Its amazing!! You two need to watch it If you love Tom Cruise!
Tom broke his ankle doing a stunt in the movie
