  • Lead Acid Battery used 50AH (30lbs costs $110 on Amazon in Sept 2022)- Mighty Max 12V - Continuous running at 4.5 mies per hour lasted nearly 2 hours but noticed decreased in speed as battery weakens. Distance totaled about 7-8 miles
Lithium Iron Phosphate used 50AH (10-15lbs Costs $172 bought in Feb 2023) - LifePO4 12V BTR Power - Have not fully tested this thing until battery runs out. Noticed burst speed is a bit stronger than lead acid but sudden drop in power around 15 minutes of running. I don't recommend this brand.

Been watching your channel for sometime now and wanted to ask you when you fish Long Beach harbor what area do you launch at? Is it cabrillo or is there another place to launch to make it easier and closer to get to the area… Keep up the good content, thank u for you time…

Thanks for watching Randall. I launch out of San Pedro from a boat dock.

According to Google Earth it's called Fish Harbor. Most kayakers launch from Cabrillo Beach.

So if I was to take the reel into Shimano, would they replace all the necessary parts? Most of my reels are Shimano reels but I've never taken my reels in for service so not sure of what they require before they service. The rod found you can tell had all the guides fallen off and the metal parts of the reel was all rusted.

The reel is discontinued. But if they have the parts for it they will do it for you. I would give it a shot. You can also find parts for it. Lots of folks still use them. Just sold mine last year to upgrade to the DC version. Had it for 12 years still smooth, cast a mile, and not a single scratch.
