Enjoyed this very much. It was actually very calming for me since in some weird way I like windy snow days and cranes (one swings just over my flat now as I'm writing this since it's very windy outside these days) and this scene was kind of a match of both worlds. Would love to experience something similar :)
A snow hurricane in Berlin/Germany. Didn't know that was possible. Must've been the first hurricane in germany since mankind. You learn something every day...
just a tip its always a good idea to put your chains in a locked tool box on the ground at the end of the day to protect them from rust and corrosion. I operate tower cranes in Australia and the weather is much better here but still put the chains away every shift p.s you are crazy staying up in those conditions
MrBrooxy, good tip about the chains. As for me being crazy, perhaps... :) but I trust my crane and knew I was completely safe... maybe safer here than anywhere else... :)
I sooo wanted to climb down but the wind was blasting through the slewing ring, I honestly felt safer staying where I was! But I did have my canister of tea so life was all good! :)
;-) very nice insider-report! up in our cabins we're fine, sometimes qyite some undisturbed leisure-time...but nobody down there ever really understands, that the wind is our only serious enemy to fuck up our job-performance. are u doing 24 hours shifts ;-)???
Ein deutsches Mädel auf dem Kran zu sehen/zu hören ist auch Mal was feines und es war die richtige Entscheidung einfach oben zu warten, wer weiß was alles hätte passieren können wenn du den Kran verlassen hättest

how do you keep the snow from blowing in through the heat escape dome on top of each swing motor ?We have a big problem with that in Canada !

Ehrlich gesagt fühlte ich mich in meinem Kran sehr sicher. Das Schaukeln meines Krans war beruhigend... ☺️
