When I TASed this, I couldn't get passed Wacky Workbench because for some reason the level was on loop.

3D shadow looks amazing, but imo there could have been a few more frames in the running animation in the 2D levels. Still, good hack overall.
to me would be better if first stage had an cyberpunk atmosphere/theme, and all level design was focus in shadow gameplay, with only shadow as playable, at last on first play

The title says "return of Shadow" - but where from does he return? This hack doesn't seem to explain it in any way. Also, Shadow shouldn't even be awakened by the time of classic era. Still, canon in Sonic? Pffft. :3
I liked how Sonic.exe was seamlessly tied to the context - it was pretty neat and graceful, I must admit. In addition, it was quite funny how they turned bosses into somewhat mobile casinos. :p
Repetition of bosses was meh though. :/

I really enjoyed this game/hack. Shadow has a great move set that really adds to the game and it makes the game look fun to play and at times, through the not so good levels, it saves the game.
What I love about Shadow is that he does his best to show that he ISN'T Sonic. Shadow is so gangster that he needs to shoot someone/something even just to perform his super transformation. Shadow is so gangster is that, even when he is in his super form and has lots of rings left, he still chooses to shoot the bosses instead of jumping on them. My favourite part is when he iced Sonic.exe with his gat and actually waited for a chance to shoot Sonic.exe rather than just jump on him to finish him off. I applaud that dedication and willingness to not purely rely on using super forms to kill enemies and bosses.
Shadow's move set really makes traversing all of those levels seem easy and fun, I love the upwards boost and the power smash/drop, the roundhousing is a lovely touch too and it shows that while getting all of the emeralds and acquiring the super form adds to the game, it's not necessary and you can still have fun playing without it.
My biggest area of concerns with this hack/game is the palette and theme music for the zones. They can do with an overhaul. I get that as it is Shadow - who has a darker personality, story and uses guns - that darker zone music and colour scheme seems quite fitting, but some zones really skipped "dark" and went to depressing, especially the zone based on Aquatic Ruin Zone with Sonic.exe as boss and as for the levels based around Marble Garden Zone and Sandopolis could have been designed better. It would also have been nice to have just one boss based around the Green Hill Zone boss and it would have been nice to see the special stages varied and altered to make them a bit different from the Sonic 2 special stages.
However, in all, I really enjoyed the game, some of the levels i.e. those based around Starlight Zone, Stardust Speedway and Ice Cap zone were excellent! Good work! :) :) :)
You know not for nothing but they should have added Amy Rose pink Edition Mod in this game too but this here fire. I mean they made this game just right

@@souptaels Especially in the levels of Sonic CD (They are REALLY broken), and that this is the latest version, since this hack is from a long time ago, without a doubt I was disappointed, even Sonic 2 Recreation Metal Sonic Reboted are better.
