New Forest - The Winter Dawn Lottery - Fire and Ice

A winter visit to the New Forest photographic playground. Once again I hope for morning fog, but instead find gorgeous sunlight and a frozen puddle as I try out a new Nikkor Z lens.

Nice! Did you consider an f4 70-200? Not sure Nikon makes one.

Thanks for watching. There's a 24-70 f/4 but not a 70-200 f/4 in the Z mount range. I'm limited by two factors - firstly, I decided to only use Z-mount lenses where possible; secondly, I wanted to try some deep-sky astro shots with the longer lens and my star tracker. That means using a wide aperture in order to capture enough data. Sadly, this does make my little hobby very expensive! I do also have the Z 24-200 f/4-6.3 which is a great all-purpose lens, but it just doesn't have the crisp sharpness of the f/2.8 70-200 and it isn't compatible with the teleconverter.
