What Joe Rogan, Michael Bisping and Jon Anik failed to see and to point out, was that Volkanovski kept circling in the wrong direction. On the entire fight Volkanovski kept moving into Ilia's strong right hand. You supposed to move away from the opponents strong hand. This is why when they got close, Volkanovski tried to escape into Ilia strong right hand. And Ilia torqued his ass with a straight right hand down the pipe. Volkanovski moved in the wrong direction the entire fight. It was just a matter of time.
They were constantly pointing out that Volk was leaving that chin up and open when going backwards....

I was just saying the same thing. If I see an interview with him or a fight replay I'm watching. He seems like a normal dude. A family man. No ego. Funny as hell. On top of all that he is easily one of the most exciting, explosive fighters. I was just talking about how amazing it was watching him when he switched to this weight class , worked his way up to become champ. That brunsun fight, the Jacare fights and especially the Romero fights were brilliant. I was bummed when he lost the belt. I mean the guy was out with injuries for what? Well over a year I think and then first fight back is Israel. The odds aren't really in your favor.

It was a hard position for Volk because Illia was charging in with them combinations, The closer you can get to your opponent, the closer your tools to the target and the harder it is to react/respond (block, counter, slip). That’s why the basics of striking is not load your shots cause the further it is, the easier to respond to. But in this case, Illia was too close and had his weapons too close to the target to have enough humanly possible reaction time to defend.
No. If he had a normals guard he’d be good. His face was uncovered and chin was up. It was inevitable for volk to not get kod like that in 25 minutes
