Song - Sleepers Become Giants
#Ibanez #Alluvial #TimWalker #SRMS625EX - Hudba
One of the best Ibanez Basses I've seen. 👍 Multi Scale with splendid piccups, good finish, no piccguards on the front. It deserves a cool name. Like... The Ibanez Shadow imo not those number names Ibanez always does for some reason.
Hell yeah brother \m/
I just realized just how low the tuning actually is.
F# C# F# B E ...
The fact that you can even produce a pitch as low as F# is insane.
(for those not in the know, this is FIVE half steps below what the lowest note on a 5-string bass would normally be)
By the way, after discovering this video of yours, I started listening to Alluvial and I have to say you guys put out some excellent stuff!
Sarcoma is one hell of an album!
The guitar solo in "Exponent" is among the most brutal shit I've heard. Brilliant! Reminds me a little of the Swedish Death Metal band "C.B Murdoc", specifically their song "Everything Is Going To Be Ok".
And the rhythmic shenanigans on "Sugar Paper" are phenomenal.
Hope to see you guys in Germany one day. Cheers from across the pond!
Really lovely tone and real tight playing
That’s some great playing there dude! Great quality video too! And the other one you did on the BTB
Super tight playing and killer tone my friend!
Hopefully more vids like this, sick man
Real cool!
This is truly fantastic! All around! The playing is super tight and the guitar itself is sick.
Great playing and great music brother to the low end
dude that was dope gj
Awesome
Sounds dope
you have inspired me on many levels
🔥🔥🔥
Good thing Alluvial has you and that tone 💪 Just subscribed for m9re content and full playthroughs.
💪🏽
Very brutal sound. I like the Bass
I believe this is the first demo of this bass on youtube. Thank you for this demo.
If you get the chance, would you be so kind as to demo this bass unprocessed and in passive mode?
Here in Germany it is unfortunately not available yet, but the sound in this demo here is quite impressive.
Dude that sounds so fucking good...
One of the best bass players in the game
I cant stop watching this play though. I has so many questions to your recording techniques for bass. I know your band tunes low but jesus I can hear the caverns of hell echoing in some of your passages. great stuff.
I Want that bass :D it Sounds so good
I have btb625ex this is not bass, this is monster, amazing tone!
What gauge strings are you using? And does it feel comfortable? Or is it pretty sloppy? Great playing man, the tone you got is killer
The set in this video is a Kalum Balanaced .168" set (.168, .124, .094, .070, .053). For being 3 tones below standard tuning these have a great tension/tone ratio where every note is stable in pitch but also has a good amount of attack
@ Tim Walker: when u say „3 tones below standard tuning“: did u tune them down, or do they have the these tunings by the way they are fabricated?
@@lolbruah the second one. The low .160+ gauge string is made in a way that allows you to play notes below A Standard tuning
Hey Tim, I hope you see this. I had 2 questions I hoped you could answer-
Are the stock pickups legit? Theyre the lower end "Barts", right? I know some people don't like those, but I was curious how you like them in this context.
Also, I read in another comment you used Helix for your bass rig here. Could you give sort of a brief rundown on what exactly you're using for tone shaping in the Helix? Amp models, distortion, cabs/IRs, etc?
If you had the time I would really appreciate it. Love your playing! Lovely tone.
I was going to head into the office but now I'm inspired to raid a small coastal village.
Those are some massive bridge cables on your bass.
Sonic girth, gOd damm
I kinda wish the ehb basses were also 35.5-34. With the bartolini pickups, the b string seems to sound a bit thin
Sexiest bass i've ever seen
Aww man, those chuggings were naaasty! \m/-_-\m/
Hi! Did you have to do any modifications to the bass to use the Kalium strings? (Like on the bridge or neck)
Also, what set would you recommend me for a F# B E A D tuning?
Thanks and amazing song!
Other than filing the nut to accommodate the strings no mods were necessary
I have this on order. I'm told the paint scuffs easy. Is that true?
Hey Tim I have the Srms800 i see you put a piece of foam above the nut. I dont like that space either will it help my sound in some way?
I add a piece of foam behind the nut on all my instruments to help combat any residual string resonance where it’s not wanted. A $0.05 noise gate if you will
Is this bass only for metal or the instrument is versatile, I guess ebonol is snappy like maple fretboard and okoume body is a bit like mahogany but brighter sounding? Great song and playing of course!
it's also for folk music
nice man, how are you feeling about the ebonol fretboard?
It's pretty interesting. It's very responsive to dynamic playing and it resonates in the fretting hand nicely. 10/10 would recommend
@Tim: What's your opinion on this bass? Do you recommend it at that price point of about 1000 bucks? Is the 35.5 enough on the multiscale side on the B? Also you mentioned you set it up with kalium strings balanced 168. Does that B-String fit in the bridge and nut or did you mod it in some way? Nice playing btw. Thanks dude.
Short answer: This thing rips. No mods other than the usual nut filing to accommodate the string gauge.
@@timwalker835 Thx man. Appreciate it.
Awesome Mate ! Whats your rig in this Video ?
SRMS625EX -> Line 6 Helix -> Logic
@@timwalker835 thanks ! Love this tone and your tight playing 🤟🏻
Which strings gauge do you use? Is it enough scale length (35,5) for such low tuning?
The set in this video is a Kalum Balanaced .168" set (.168, .124, .094, .070, .053)
@@timwalker835 thank you for the answer
The five string bass you sold me sounds like a ukelele compared to this beast. The instrument sounds like your playing bridge cables its so heavy but so clean.
Serious boopity on that tone! What way have you dialled in the knobs on the bass? Asking for a guitarist/noob bassist
Does this bass or your BTB handle the low F# tuning better?
Both handle the extremes of lower tuning fantastically. There's only a 0.5" difference on the bass side of both basses so either would be a great choice for lower tunings. The biggest difference would be the string spacing; SR is more compact whereas the BTB is a bit more spacious.
Is that the Iron Label I been hearing about?!
Sure is!
Can I get what string gauges you were using?
The set in this video is a Kalium Long Balanced .168" set (.168, .124, .094, .070, .053)
I bought this bass about 6 months ago and I've had to pay $125 to set it up and I have to have it shipped because the electronics don't work
What bass plugin is this?
No plugin, all Line 6 Helix
@@timwalker835 Oh fuck me thats $1,499 lmfao
@@timwalker835 Also what gauge string do you use, I cant find anything lower than 130 for the low B
If I remember correctly this was a .165 or .170 for the lowest but great results can be had with a .145 and lower @@greysonevans3381
If he didn't play pick hed probably hate the slant style pickups id leave an odd impression on the thumb and displace normal bass thumb anchor
When he doesn't play pick he doesn't hate the slant style pickups because it still provides a normal impression and anchor for the thumb.
whats the song title? its evil nice as fuck
