  • Paris Hilton is sharing traumatic details about the abuse she endured at a youth residential treatment center when she was a teenager. The reality star testified to a U.S. House committee on Capitol Hill June 26 as she “strongly advocated” for the federal bipartisan Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act and urged lawmakers to “improve care for the nearly 400,000 children” who are living in the foster care system. In her opening remarks, Paris acknowledged that while she herself was not in foster care, she experienced abuse during her time at youth treatment facilities as a teen. “When I was 16 years old, I was ripped from my bed in the middle of the night and transported across state lines to the first of four youth residential treatment facilities,” the 43-year-old recalled, adding, “I was forced fed medications and sexually abused by the staff. I was violently restrained and dragged down hallways, stripped naked and thrown into solitary confinement.”

I saw Paris Hilton's documentary. I am sorry I had a biased view of her in the past. We never really know what is going on in a person's life. Thankyou Paris for sharing not only your harrowing story, but using your platform to help other kids. These "correction schools" and children's home must be brought into account and the abuse in such facilities must be stopped.

I saw her documentary and I couldn't stop crying. To some degree I know what Paris went through.
When I was two I was removed from my parents home.
After an argument a family member lied that my father abused me, I had a broken arm at the time which added to the stress of the situation It was like a match tossed into a tinder box.
They fought hard to get me back but the damage is done and my family had therapy for years after.
What she went through is undeniably the worst thing a parent could allow to happen to a child.
My situation was unforseen and my family could only react but
her family manufactured the most traumatizing experience a person could ever have.
I'm deeply sorry it happened to her or anyone.
It's madness and it has to stop.

Please investigate the over medication of young children in foster care. Follow the money from diagnosis to prescriptions. Five year olds don’t need antidepressants. I bet the agencies need the diagnosis for more funding. Thank you PH

Could not be more proud of Paris! I recently found out a friend grew up in a cult who used various sick methods to change her sexual orientation. They ended up sending her to a facility also when she was 16, where she was tied up and drugged and then raped. This was in South Africa. This problem is world wide though.

I commend Paris for her bravery coming forward and sharing her story and using her celebrity to help give abuse children at these facilities a voice.
I hope this leads to these facilities being shut down.
So sad there are so many kids in these bootcamps and foster care. Many are in foster homes due to parents who abused them or parents who are addicts.
Meanwhile, MAGA wants to end abortion so these parents can have more kids. More kids MAGAs doesn't believe in caring for after they are born. Then they're on their own. Paris is right. We'll give money to these businesses who abuse the money, but not to individuals, because then it's a handout. MAGAs abandon these kids when thhey need help the most.

My mother and step father locked me away for 6 months, in a “psychiatric hospital” in the mid 1980’s. They did not give me even a physical exam until 3 days before I left. Legally, they were supposed to give both a physical exam and a psychiatric assessment within 24 hours. In the last days I was there, they threw a flurry of paperwork at me, and backdated all legal documents. They were brutally incompetent, and abused the children in the ways Ms Hilton has described. Sexual abuse, physical abuse, chemical restraints, physical isolation, and forged documents are what they are. These companies exist solely to drain insurance companies’ bank accounts, and scrape the pockets of the wealthy.

This is sad and happened /happens all the time. Parents do this or doctors who iie and say they will help "out of control teens" now foster kids too. Trafficking children/ teens whether outside or inside the systems is a billion $ yearly problem. Amen to love and kindness as what now was trafficking was in my day "forced prostitution" Great help I got fir being raped and acting out after. 😢Paris let me know what can be done.

Why was she in youth treatment facilities in the first place? Was she on drugs then? Why did she wait so long to tell her story? She is 43 now. I am sorry that happened to her but I would have called my parents if that had happened to me. I was molested when I was in the Navy and I complained about it but no one helped me and I was 20. I did not wait years to tell anyone either.

    • @e.t.ethics1771
      @e.t.ethics1771 Před 2 dny

What local level? The local is in with these people, didn't you know this? The State, the city halls etc. These people get away with murder and maltreatment of patients. I have seen this with my own eyes at a nursing home in the most educated State in the country. And they have ways around it. They even "stole" my best friend's corpse and passed it on to a funeral home they were in with, rather than the instructions they were given. This is a well know profit making tactic that nursing homes, hospices and others of the same ilk use. $S first. And the profits, instead of improving salaries and work and patient conditions, room (keeping them clean and safe etc.) are funneled to investments firms to buy real estate in other lands and other States. All are in, in this abuse of the vulnerable.
