Ireland, Norway and Spain to recognise Palestinian state | BBC News

  • Ireland, Norway, and Spain have announced they will recognise a Palestinian state from 28 May.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said a two-state solution was the "only alternative"; while Ireland's PM Simon Harris said the decision would help create a "peaceful future".
But, while Palestinian leaders welcomed the decision - with the Palestine Liberation Organization calling it a "historic moment" - Israel reacted furiously, saying it would summon the three countries' ambassadors to watch a video of the 7 October attacks.
At least 140 countries already recognise the state of Palestine - but not the UK or the US.

From a Brit: The UK history is filled periods when the UK oppressed the Irish and caused historical untold misery to its close neighbour which led to understandable long standing resentment and regular militant action with death and misery on both sides. It was only through political dialogue and reconciliation that peace was wrought.
However please note - at no point throughout the troubles would the UK have considered carpet bombing those districts of our close neighbour that were the source of militant action.
I think I can honestly say that the UK is now very fond of and has deep respect for the religious and cultural values of our close neighbour.

Everyone in the world knows the original story of the conflict between Isreal and Palestine. First hamas attacked innocent isreali civilians and they celebrated and them when isreal take revenge on then, they said that isreal is trying to destroy Palestinians. There were no differences between hamas terrorists and Palestinians during they attacked Israeli civilians in October 7. Isreal is not war with Palestinians. Israel is war with terrorists. European countries like Ireland, Norway and spain just supported terrorism. There three countries should be ashamed of their recognition of terrorism.
