I didn't just get into it with my husband about how all of my insecurities about voicrimg my opinion stem from my childhood and send me back to sitting on a playground at a campground just wanting someone to come up and play with me (since I obv didn't know anyone because I was like 5) and being worried that the other kids would think I was stupid so I never walked up to them. What 5 year old does that? Oh yeah... My son 🤦♀️ The terrible things we pass onto our children no matter how badly we try to encourage them to be social and tell them how awesome they are...

I'm actually a former preschool/kindergarten teacher and I've been a nanny for 15 yrs... Along with having a child dev/psych degree... And a 10 y/o. You've definitely hit the nail on the head. It would be soooo nice if all kids were easy to fix. Caring for Children is trial and error and a guessing game so often 😂 There is so much you have to do as a caregiver to help them learn and understand their feelings. Gotta work together which is where your suggestion really comes into play. Would have helped me growing up too... We didn't talk about feelings and "I love you" was just something you said automatically when you hung up the phone or walked out the door. Just like saying "have a nice day".. No genuine connection like we work on with our son

I once went all the way to meet my friends for a picnic. But as soon I started walking to the meetup spot, I started to have an anxiety attack so I went to sit on the other side of the park and just cried for a while. I was about 2min away from everyone and I still didn’t go lmao
I was once supposed to go on an excursion in school. We were supposed to meet at the station. My mum literally drove me there but I was 5 minutes late and that worry escalated into a full panic attack. I ended up not going. Fun times.
