0:20 Footage of an Esskay Commercial
0:44 Footage of Today Show Appearances
1:32 Episode or possibly test footage of Kermit
Here are new footage of lost Sam and Friends episodes, an Esskay Commercial, and unknown footage of the early iteration of Kermit the Frog. All of the footage is sourced from the very recent Jim Henson Idea Man Documentary on Disney Plus.
The first part of the compilation is from lost episodes of Sam and Friends that haven’t been completely found online. The second part is footage of an Esskay Commercial featuring Kermit and Harry the Hipster. The third part are Today Show appearances of one of the Sam and Friends cast of characters that haven’t fully surfaced online. Which one clip is Old Black Magic and a snippet of Yes! We Have No Bananas. The final part is an unknown footage of Kermit the Frog, it’s possible it could either be from an episode or test footage of the puppet, which this could mean that it’s possibly the very first footage of Kermit the Frog in existence perhaps? Until we get an answer I guess we’ll never know.
Hopefully with the rise of the documentary, more Sam and Friends media can be officially released as well as other pieces of Muppet media to be preserved if the Jim Henson Company and Disney have any interest of releasing it on home video in any shape or form, especially paying licensing for music and other stuff from being re-released that easily sadly. But if not we’ll just have to wait and see if more material will surface online.

A bit of random comment here. Your video about the Just One Bite Spongebob premiere interested me. I was gonna ask you if you a recording of the Procrastination/ Im with Stupid episode premiere, intact with the deleted scene by any chance? It’s dated Oct. 19, 2001

Well that part was showcasing the Glow Worm footage from April 1961, which is from a lost episode not the Yellow Rose of Texas.

Can you upload the other Sam and friends clips from the documentary? Like the other old black magic clips from Sam and friends?

I’m pretty sure the other clips are just the same ones online but in HD quality. This compilation is only new material from Sam and Friends that was featured in the documentary.

@@lucasneon Well if I would do a compilation of Sam and Friends clips in HD I would have to go through other sources like the 2021 Sesame Street documentary and the PBS Jim Henson documentary from 2015.
The problem with the Sesame Street documentary is that unlike Disney, Warner Bros is very strict about the length of clips from that documentary which if you upload longer than 25 seconds it can get blocked. Also I’m not really interested making an hd compilation of Sam and Friends I feel like more new material is more important than the same clips online but in HD.
Especially that HD scans of Sam and Friends media is not fully easily available to access online. I would rather get into uploading rare media from the Muppet Show, cause finding new rare Muppets media from the 1950s and 60s is extremely hard to find on the internet compared to the late 1970s and onward especially non Sesame Street media.
If you want to make a compilation of your own, if you don’t mind piracy, then just go to a site like braflix or 123movies to record the documentary. And if you want it in good quality make sure it’s at least 1080p.
