I mean I totally agree, but my brother was a tour pro for a few years and told me about how sometimes the sponsor would sometimes give you new clubs right before a tournament and tell you your contractually obligated to use them. So in that case I'd be pissed off as well.
I broke one just hitting it solid and the club head went almost to the green on a par 3

Me and my boy Chris went to play right after he bought a brand new full set. First round of 9 he threw his 3 wood in the trees on the 5th hole and it was stuck. We kept moving and he caught up on the next hole after he got it down. He threw it again but only down the fairway. Next night we played the par 3 night course. He was so angry by the 7th and it was all water until the green about 140yds. He threw all of his clubs including his bag , just everything into the pond. Me and my other 2 friends were laughing so hard. Come the 9th hole he wanted a ball , tee and to borrow a club. We all declined.

Funny story. I'm planning on playing regular golf this summer. My dad and I just need new clubs. I hope I don't get so angry that I break them because he'll get angry at me for flushing money down the toilet. We can share them, but he would be the one who bought them, so I shall refrain from breaking any of them.
Good call. My friend once borrowed my 9 iron. Hit a bad shot, threw the club, broke it, and refused to pay for a replacement.

I can sympathize. Golf is not an easy game. When you practice and practice and put so much time and energy into hitting that little ball to a certain spot and you miss, it will test your sanity

@@hazelbell6984 One possibility could be that 7 was his maximum score for the hole. So when he finally hit a decent shot, he was upset that it wouldn't make any difference.
Ex. "On a par 4 hole with a stroke index of 10, the player's maximum hole score is 7. Double bogey (6) + 1 handicap stroke = 7"

I came here because my driver broke on me. I didn't break it. It was just old and swung all its swings. It's best to replace them before they break. Bruh I got so embarrassed in front of everyone at the driving range
worry not mate, I have to ask the range keeper to find two 7 iron heads down range in 5 month. both broke on impact.
Typically, if you lose a clubhead by accident or whatever , you can just tell the others to stop while you run out and get the head .
F for the driver. I once took a hybrid too close to a divider one time on the range and it sent the club head flying about 30 feet behind me lol. I too felt sheepish as I was walking to pick it up
One time, I broke my driver, asked for another one from the range, and broke that one too (rusted to fuck that it was).

I did what Pieters did but instead of breaking a long iron over the back of my neck it was a sand wedge....and the left broken shaft came around and sliced my check just under my left eye. Not a good idea

Well for one iron shafts are made from steel, not iron, and in the case of woods and hybrids they’re usually graphite. In either case, it’s very easy to break both.

The club is in the wrong place at the wrong time. The sponsors could care less.
Any player who acts like that should automatically be disqualified. If you hit the ground that hard that you break a club there's bound to be damage. If a player following in another group whose ball lands in it there at a disadvantage because of your selfish actions.
Should people be disqualified for divots as well then??? How terrible of them to not think of those playing after who might hit their shots in those deep divots😨

seeing these people do this disgusts me. A friend of my dads hit his club into the ground in anger. the end of the shaft broke and bounced into his neck and he bled out. Have some fucking decency.
I didn’t realise it was so prevalent, if you lose your temper that easy, you shouldn’t play a sport, plus, it sets a bad example for young kids who want to take up the sport.
Its not prevalent it just happens sometimes. For every sport, every person.
When you’re incredibly dedicated to something and everything just seems to be going hopelessly against you, it’s understandable to have some emotion especially in such a mental sport as golf. It’s not that easy or prevelant to lose your temper like that, each of these players have broken like one club in the countless rounds they’ve played. And with the heightened pressure of millions of people watching you, it’s also understandable to be a bit tense. And yea, obviously a bad example, that’s why when you’re kid sees something like this they know what not to do, as long as you do your job and parent.

The PGA tour should fine the players when they Throw or Snap clubs ,That's just unacceptable.

I would raise that fine to $100,000 plus a one-year suspension. Make it hurt. Korean PGA suspended Bio Kim 3 years for flipping off fan.
