I don’t understand why so many people hate Beth. She is such a complex multi-layered character that I absolutely love. She is big mouthed, but most of it is a self-defence mechanism. She actually has a very big heart too. The love and loyalty to Rip and John is unquestionable. It is no excuse for her behaviour, but it does make her character very interesting.
They hate her because she's such a good actress they think she's real. It's actually a complement, they just don't know it.

She's a character that can be both loved and hated. Her undying loyalty to John and Rip, as well as her tender moments with a couple other characters are always heartwarming. It's also cool how she takes zero crap from anyone that crosses her. On the other hand she is ruthless and callous to the point that once John even chews her head off for hurting innocent people to protect the ranch. "We don't hunt sheep, we hunt wolves." That's why she's such a well-written character. Most people are neither saints nor irredeemable monsters, they've got good and bad qualities.
People are so superficial, Beth can read People before they ever open their mouths.
I love the fact that this actress doesn’t follow Hollywood trends..she kept her beautiful, deep set, hooded eye shape and her eye color just draws them in..she didn’t let them get that same damn nose job look (not that she needed one)..to me this is natural beauty, and her talent is underrated. Isn’t she an English actress? Love her character!!! She’s got some balls!

I absolutely love the scene with Willa. Both very alpha, ball-busting, cut-throat women that never raise their voices or throw hands. Just low-key "ha ha, I took your job" from Willa, and a less than subtle threat from Beth as she walks out the door. I love that Willa says "I really like her!" bcuz she absolutely means it! She still has mad respect for Beth, how could you not?
She is a socio path beyond repair, even her twisted dad knows it. She is the worst time of person, who thinks all others are below her.
What is most amazing is that she is a British actress who is faking an American accent. Does a great job of it as well!

I have to say some of the plots are skeptically thin and murders seems to be overlooked if not just outside the law.

I love the complexity of Beth. She’s had a rough life even if she came from money. And you see how the tragic events of her life took big pieces from her soul, yet she still has a light inside her. Glad she found a man like Rip who would ride or die for her, and a surrogate son who she went out of her way for just like her dad with Rip
What a great role Beth has, nobody could play it better than Kelly Reilly.

@@jamesweir2943 I am not a huge follower of Costner either but movies like Dances with Wolves and No Way Out are his apex work. With the end of Breaking Bad and closure of Better Call Saul this show fills a void for me that has that spark. Probably a few more seasons and this will conclude also as the actors will be getting offers to do other work.

Some subtle shades of humor are added that are very giggle worthy. The looks characters give each other or the innuendo to bridge those awkward moments. Helps make shows more memorable.

Her character is so unrealistic and over the top that I think it's hard for people to relate. Nothing against the actress, she does an amazing job in playing the role, though. Writers/Creators just need to scale back the role a bit.
Yellowstone is the only show that could ever compare to Dallas, but with Yellowstone each episode feels like a season finale.

I have not watched this show, but I'm going to have to start watching.ive watched 1923 and a few episodes of 1883, but now I need to watch Yellowstone. I already love Beth.

I never thought Beth would make me tear up, but she did. (hospital scene) There is a heart down deep in there.
I thought it was more like Palpatine taking on Annakin as an apprentice. Beth Dutton is a totally self-absorbed, opportunistic psychopath... kind of like the fat body men and women of Twitter. One day they'll "be in the head and shoot Sgt. Hartman and then blow their brains out.", because their life sucks and it's anybody and everybody's fault but theirs.

Such a great character. Absolute personification of a caustic woman, but you can’t help rooting for her.
I sure as hell can not root for her. I can't stand her. The first couple seasons it was entertaining but now it's just old and tired. I hope she gets killed off next Sunday. 🙂 Don't get it twisted though I hate the character but I love Kelly Reilly. It's a testament to how great an actress she is that I hate the character this much. She's a truly gifted actress. I absolutely love Eden Lake, she was badass in that too. Love her in the Sherlock Holmes movies too. She's just great in everything she's in.

Beth is arguably the best female actor EVER!! She has this personality for the show down to a science. The combination of her looks, character, timing and the ability with her sensuality to turn everyman across the globe into mush is astonishing. While all of the acting in Yellowstone is top notch, I'd argue that it's Taylor Sheridan's writing that is truly magical.
Beth has some of the best lines of all time. The woman who plays with does an amazing job executing each and every insane thing she says.
