  • I appeared on the It's Sew Easy PBS show, and am sharing it here with all of you! Enjoy learning how to make bridal veils and get a peek at other veils I've created. Making these veils is easier than you may think and they are very affordable to create. Making your own wedding or bridal veil will not only save you money but you can stand out from all the other brides! When you use free-motion embroidery with my Octi-Hoops free-motion frames, you'll be surprised how you can embroider directly on Tulle. You may have seen another veil on the set with a faux-lace edging I created as shown on this quick clip video • Octi-HOOPS free-motion...

    I really needed this. I am just beginning to plan a "quicky" and cheap wedding. I am 58 and never planned on marrying again. I've never had a real wedding gown or veil. I want it this time. Now I know I will have the veil!!! Thank you!!

    That machine.... I'm crying.
    I've altered my entire dress up four inches and taken it in at the waist from an 18 to a 14, I've also taken in the straps and the bust. It's all lace overlay.... I've done it all by hand it's taken me a week or two.
    With a machine like this it would've been a day.😭
    A girl can dream!💙

    I made a veil for a friend years ago because she was saving money and veils were charging crazy prices of $80-200 for some netting and $6 worth of trim.
    I never thought of trying free motion drawing on netting and I definitely want to try it. Thank you so much for showing how it's done.

  • @aerosnow7

    What is the name/brand of the sewing machine you are using and does it require additional software/hardware to do what did with the veils?

    • @clare-rowley
      @clare-rowley  Před 7 lety +2

      aerosnow7 The machine used has nothing to do with what I taught, however it is the Brother brand Dream Machine. The process of embroidery was done using my Octi-Hoops found at www.creativefeet.com and is done using a straight stitch. A simple zig zag stitch was used for sewing the pearl and Rat Tail using my Creative Feet brand Pearls & Piping foot which fits ALL sewing machines that have a zig zag stitch; that same foot was also used to gather the fabric. So be sure to visit www.creativefeet.com to learn more! :)

    which machine is good for making gowns...??

    • @clare-rowley
      @clare-rowley  Před 5 lety

      Any sewing machine can be used to make gowns, it has much more to do with the technique, stabilizing the fabric which needle and thread you select, than the actual sewing machine. If you have any need for assistance with any of these I'm happy to assist :) 💗 Feel free to ask!
