- This is part 1 of a 4 part interview series with former NFL running back Harvey Williams. He grew up in Hempstead Texas, played football at LSU, and had an 8 year career with the Kansas City Chiefs and the LA/ Oakland Raiders from 1991 to 1998. I had the pleasure of sitting down with him for a 4 part series. Harvey currently runs a select youth football team in the Houston, Texas area. He teaches football and life skills in his camps. Played with him in high school at Hempstead. Same class. He lived a block over. I would walk down to their house and play basketball. Special talent. And Coach Robert Kinney was a phenomenal human being.

Yea that was his inspiration so he had a similar running pattern.
I’m from Hempstead I grew up with his nephew when LSU invited me to Tiger Camp I got the chills all over my body when I saw his plaque Hall Of Fame Hempstead,Tx no I didn’t make it but I played every single down at Hempstead High hard af looking up to this man you the reason I went back to Hempstead you and Mr.Holland please bring a camp back to Hempstead

Hi Harvey! I have a funny story involving the two of us. I was the DE you shook against Cleveland High School in 1984 to make the long run that won the game for Hempstead. I’d love to come on a show sometime and tell it. It’s pretty damn funny.

What I loved about him he didn't look like a traditional RB but Harv lol, you talking like you where Bo Jackson or Eric Dickerson, you was cool but you where behind Christian and Barry Word, and you went first round 😂
Can we find out who he played for when he came to San Diego?
He played for the Chiefs from 91 to 94, then the Raiders from 94-99.
@@ForeMoney he talked about playing pop Warner football in San Diego for 2 years.

What happened between him and his girl great interview
After a game at LSU they had a little run in with the authorities and it got the attention of NFL scouts and it hurt his draft stock. I don't know all the details, but thats the "thing" that happened with his girlfriend.
