- Aggressive Firefighting with nearly unlimited offroad capabilities but with a maximum speed of 65km/h also agile on road. Concept RED: R.escue, E.extinguish, D.efend. Rescueing people that are entrapped by a wildfire is first time possible due to the armoured tracked vehicle, guided by a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV, drone). crew and rescued people and the diesel engine are supplied by compressed air when passing the fire zone. In case of an emergency one vehicle offers space for up to 20 people.
The unique high pressure vortex extinguishing technology works very efficiently with a enourmous jet range but a minimum water consumption. The water monitor is mounted on the roof and is controlled by simple joystick from inside the protected vehicle. Firebreaks can be easyly created with the help of the solid dozer blade. The holistic solution RED comprises a group of 4 RED vehicles type marder which are working together embedded seamlessly into the existing firebrigade structure. An important component for the extinguishing water logistics is the quick assembly reservoir, erected just within 15 minutes and filled by helicopter or landbased by normal tanker.

Since when does radios sound like that? Fucking annoying
it sounds almost like cs 1.6 radio comms
Dubious it's so fuking anoying
LOL at the radio effects... and they all sound like they are from the 70s.

I know right
California really needs this
Yeah California could learn a lesson from these guys
austraila needs it a way more
I was about to say the same thing. Maybe in the next 2 to 3 years they'll get one.
I have a plan of action for the new Biden/Harris administration along this lines. My concept goes beyond the brushfires but into the heavy forest. I will use smoke and ground detectors to pinpoint the location of the fires, the winds, the night/day environment, etc.
I even have some concepts for tornado alley, droughts and inundations and hurricanes.
whoever did the radio voices on this needs a fucking raise, SOLID GOLD CHATTER
Felicitari!
And back in time for chow... Awesome!
Hey Guys!
This is what "made in Germany" is all about! High five from Dortmund!
This thunderbirds episode is so real. Can't even see the strings! Haha

i'm confused. why is there american radio traffic when it's quite clearly german feuerwehr at work?
Yeah, it´s stupid and annoying.
i think because he is american and not german :D lol i can speak german
BlackAdder665 becouse there translateing
vex zarkov a: what's wrong with subtitles? b: i don't think that's an actual translation. i reckon it's completely made up for reasons of dramatisation.
yea xD
Tracked vehicles? Sloped armor design? I have seen wheeled fire fighting vehicles successfully used for similar situations.
Fire man Sam
How da fuck did i get here???
I dunno
This is what my department needs. All we got around here is woods and some structures but not many.I live out in the country.Thats why I say we need something like this.LOL
This will be really helpful when Fire Nation Attacks

Practical issue:
In a large state like Calif - or mine in Australia, you'll have to cover huge distances to get to a fire. Here for major fires, brigades pool their resources, I've seen fire trucks come from towns over 1,000km away.
You can drive those distances, using up valuable track miles and get to the scene hours later - or put them on low loaders and truck them there. A key to using them in a large fire is getting enough low loaders - in time - from the Army or locally.
So good of the Blood Ravens Astartes to deploy their Rhinos and Razorbacks on this world to help with the firefighting efforts. Praise the Emperor!!
The concept is good but I agree with a lot of the people here, it is very complicated and it lacks extinguishing power.

Might be a good basis for a safer Dozer for fireline construction - use an MBT chassis instead, with an overpressure, cooling system for burnovers. Would have to be better in terms of overhead protection than the D9's usually used.
Hillarious..... time to watch an Episode of Thunderbirds.
GET"R"DONE & Put it out!
Glad to see old M113's put to good use.
Yes , based on the German armoured troop carrier " Marder".
I´v seen a demonstration near Hemer. Quite cool .
Geniales Beispiel für Rüstungskonversion!
Thunderbirds are GO!!!
California needs more of this equipment
I wonder if these have been used in heavy fires, i dont know if the firefighters want equipment though replacing them, even for field fires they could be using surplus airport oshkosh trucks to mop up, but that takes people away, California needs to think about saving lives instead of saving jobs

looks like old Soviet era BMP's that were converted over for fire fighting.
They’re marder IFVs from germany, beautiful pieces of engineering they are
Interesting concept.
This is nostalgia to me I watched this when I was so young.
Same
I have seen this before once on tv or something! At 4:11 that’s when I remembered seeing it!
Well that puts a whole new meaning to tanker
TOO BAD IT IS NOT A TANK THEY ARE A.PC
the technology is really awesome! save our forest
GEILES TEIL!!!
Impressive but they need bigger choppers with larger water bags. They also need some variable nozzles on the extinguisher cannons that will spread water over a larger aria for more effective cooling. But they will hopefully upgrade to that.
i hope one day malaysia fire&rescuers buy this aset
I gotta get me one of those!
Short answer - no, it's not my business. Here, they use mostly crop sprayers in their off-season. A small helo with a bucket can fill up 900L by dunking into a dam or a swimming pool. The larger helos, like the Erikson Skycrane will also hover over a dam and take on 9,000L in a few minutes. They can also do this from the same roadside points that fill up the trucks.
From there, the cycle time depends on how far they're from the fire.
these are the best in a wildfire situation
coms are cheezy but the concept is strong
looks like a conversion of a swedish apc that is still in use with the armed forces and some other nordic countries .. a very good piece of equipment
Oh lets just fill up this pool while the fire blazes in the background XD
lol. i love the fake radio sound effects. Makes it sound very authentic! ;D
The chopper could have doused the fire quicker on it's own.
Haha seemed like something off thunderbirds! Lol. So cool ;)
good job
The only thing this is good for is delivering Beer and Burgers to the firefighters. To be effective you would need an endless supply of water.
Thats a whole LAV
Just a suggestion for music, I feel it is suitable:
Step 1: Open a new Tab.
Step 2: Search "Barry Gray - Thunderbirds Theme" (choose the first video).
Step 3: Go to 0:35 on this video.
Step 4: Increase volume on the Thunderbirds Theme video.
Step 5: Play both at the same time and enjoy for 2 and a half minutes.
Wow. Thunderbirds Are Go
Oh my God, governments spend billions of dollars on military weapons and a minimum on firefighter equipment. This is so sad.
Great Demo.
This is Firefighting :-) great!
Life or Death 1
The tracks are "live" tracks. Each link is separated from the next by a link pin inside a neoprene bushing, there's no metal-to-metal contact. When this bushing wears out, the links wear and the track breaks (been there done that) Neoprene and the adhesives aren't rated to fire temperatures. Cross enough burning - or hot ground and the rubber catches fire, leading to track breakage, stranding inside the fire for hours, loss of vehicle and crew.
Richtig gutes viedieo
this is the best way to fight forrestfires
I'd assume that those rubber tracks (I think their rubber, I can't really tell) would be prone to expanding and weakening in fire zones, too.
I think this was filmed on a potato.
This is like a bad 50's TV show.
They really need several of those in Colorado and New Mexico right now...
hi i'm really sorry but that must be one of the funniest video's i've seen in a long time. the list of impractical , uneconomic and just dangerous recommendations in this solution is huge. In OZ, we have some of the world's worst bushfires -the decisions fire teams make on bushland interface protection, hazard reduction and aggressive defence to a rapidly moving fire front aren't suited to this solution.
too much tine watching Thunderbirds i think.
Looks like firefighting with UNLIMITED MONEY to me!
M.
The german "Marder" Tank nice ;)
Search "Auffahren von SPz Mardern zur Marschkolonne, nach dem Besuch der Waschstraße"
someone pinch me... my 2 childhood toys I wanted the most had a baby
Good job Deutschland Fire Service
I fully expected to see Godzilla appear at any moment.
We need these fire tanks In Australia
Absolutely stunning technology never seen before!
Will have an huge impact on rescueing and firefighting practice!
Que gran equipo!
cool vidx i used it for my forestfire report i got an...A+
Schützenpanzer marder als Feuerwehr auto Mega geil will auch 😄
I'm an old APC driver and there's no way in hell I'd be driving a retired tracked vehicle into a life threatening situation. Even new tanks and APCs will throw a track in countryside like this, driving over hot ground or burning brush will destroy the neoprene seals inside the track links. Once you're stuck in your APC inside a fire, it's only a matter of minutes before the temperature inside the big aluminium box turns lethal. You'd be cooked in 20 minutes. NO THANKS.
😂 Is this real? If so that is some amazing equipment and teamwork going on I like it.
The sheer bulk of these things, plus the weight of the water.....damn
Tank Firm: Airmatic
From: Germany / NRW / City: Hemer (Sauerland)
Video takes: Hemer - Deilinghofen an old military training ground
I Love this Firm and Tanks :)
Thunderbirds episode?😁😁😁
Cool concept, impractical as all hell. They would be better off using an assault breacher type vehicle or an amphibian. The abv can dig fire breaks and the amphib could refill by driving into a water source.
I just don't understand the armour?
you could probably put a much larger water tank on the thing if it was lighter to begin with....
what if the fire starts shooting at it
+roflcopterkklol They're probably repurposed, surplus armoured personnel carriers the manufacturers got cheap, and were able to convert into firefighting vehicles. I imagine they were just a ready source of fairly cheap, very robust tracked vehicles.
rudeboystu69 Probably right, they probably used the crew transport area to hold the water tank, still wouldnt hurt to cut the armour off them even if it is only thin.
+roflcopterkklol no point, that cost money and the armor can be used to push through the most intense fires "Rescueing people that are entrapped by a wildfire is first time possible due to the armoured tracked vehicle" - from video description
Wow tanks used to help people, nobody dies!
WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
ground crews are cheaper and more effective.
Mike Pickford Not really, also you are risking the lives of said ground crews.
Mario OneSeventyFour I'm part of those ground crews, I just want the work haha
Because we use helicopters more efficiently. Because we're smarter.
Germans..... Always doing it and building it better.
could lose some of the armor but great idea for military unit, the multi wheeled strykers would work great too
This is the first time I seem firefighters using an armoires vehicle
Amazing video quality... 5K?
beautiful
The smaller helos that fight fires in my state have 900L capacity that they can fill in seconds by dunking into farm dams or swimming pools.
The larger units, such as the Erikson Skycrane, which have been contracted in Australia for the last 6-7 years have over 9,000L capacity. These are also filled by pumping from dams and pools - or by landing and being filled by the same resources as fire trucks.
Australia should get these
They're pretty scary, I don't want them driving past my house
Great! :)
Genial!!!!!
i t s best fire truck of forest fire
this is like the army of the firefighters
i wish we had fire tanks here.....

nice firetank
