- Leopold Stokowski made the first American recording of Stravinsky's "Petrushka" with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1937. In later years he often conducted a Suite from the ballet, especially on his foreign tours. This performance featured in a 1967 television relay from Stockholm in which Stokowski conducted the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The other item on this short TV 'special' was Stokowski's own arrangement of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, also now uploaded here via this link ...

God, I love this performance!
Stokowski is just wonderful, I can’t lie.
Great to see this hystorical conductor doing this great perfomance!
Haha! What crazy tempos! Good old Stokowski!
super fine orchestra and have to love Stokowski
amazing camera work!
Подарить цветы арфисткам - очень мило, великодушие гения, поступок, вызывающий слёзы.
I have this to my favorite bugs bunny!! Please bring it back!! This is is gold n wonderful!!! Please bring ot all back!!
Magnifique interprétation !!!
Fantástica interpretaçâó !!!
I just love to watch him conduct! Nobody like him. Unbelievably exciting performance. *(I wonder if Yuja Wang studied this performance when she was learning the piano version?)* 😎🎹
What a lovely gesture when he takes flowers from his bouquet and presents each of his harpists with a tribute.
Yeah, those were probably the women who "caught his eye..."
Love it!!!
I like how he changed tempo in the 2nd bar.
Sensacional! Bravíssimo!
What a treat!
Genial!!
Meraviglioso Stokowski colora ogni nota!
He also changed the orchestration at the end.
In fact, he used Stravinsky's own shortened "concert suite" ending.

I find the first tempo a bit slow
